The one gift Santa can't deliver | The Laws Of War | ICRC

- The only thing some children want this holiday season is to be reunited with their families.
For nearly 155 years the International Committee of the Red Cross has worked to bring families separated by conflict or natural disaster back together again.
Under international humanitarian law, aka the laws of war, people have the right to know what happened to their missing relatives. Governments, the military authorities and armed groups have an obligation to give information and help efforts to put families back together.

The dead look in santa's eyes just makes this video all the more heartbreaking
it just made it real....santa seen too much shit....and without our help...he cannot exist.
Put down the crack pipe.
This is the best charity commercial ever made. It does the job in so many ways.
how the fuck are you thinking war is “charity”
I can empathise in a way, though my own misfortune is probably not quite this bad. In December 2019, I accompanied my sister & youngest niece to go Christmas shopping. At some point, my little niece begged to go & visit Santa. I’m an autistic adult in an electric wheelchair & had just recently recovered from amputation surgery (lower leg), so I kinda stuck out. That’s when the friendly Santa insisted that I get a photo with him, as he heard my sister offer to pay for me. I was even asked the question he asks all the kids. Being a good auntie of 8, I merely said I just wanted my nieces/nephews to have a good Christmas (& keeping in the role, he said he’d do his best; bless his heart). I only wish I could have been there with them, as I ended up becoming ill with a septic infection in my leg wound. I spent Christmas 2019 & New Year’s 2020 in hospital, while arrangements were made for a repair surgery. I’m just thankful that it wasn’t much worse & that I still have the photo. I’m actually hoping to get my prosthetic before long (after all my physio), so maybe one of these Christmases I’ll be able to get another photo; perhaps this time without the wheelchair. Since St. Nicholas does so much to cheer up all the kids each Christmas, something meaningful might just be what he needs... 💕✨❤️✨💕
😭😭😭 i'm crying... so touching... and tha santa-actor did a great job
This is the only advertisement that has ever had an impact on me.
A touching message, it's incredible work of the ICRC and national Red Cross societies to bring families back together in war-torn areas
Whoever thinks no one can’t do anything, doesn’t know that anyone can share love
So relevant in present conflict in Gaza, a catastrophe
Ngl if this was a movie about a post apocalyptic Santa I would 110% watch it.
Wtf is it just me or are all UA-cam commenters 10 year old psychopaths. this video is heartbreaking.
All children are absolute psychos
I love the red cross so much 😭
Beautiful, but sombering. So important to remember what others are going through.
the biggest tragedy of all is that so many humans must be taught, or reminded of the horrors of war. if you don't know that war is utter horror, without being told and retold, then our species has a REAL problem. and guess what? our species DOES have a REAL problem.
We shared this at National Center For Missing and Endangered.
Such a heartfelt video to all of us who advocate for missing persons
Thank you!

Missing are possibly for organ harvesting I won't go further to get the names of the culprits
Harrowing and so important. Well done, ICRC and adam&eve/DDB
This is well cinematographed and edited. Kudos to your volunteer workers and cinematographers. Keep up the good spirit, my dudes!
Poor Syria. Poor Palestine. Poor Iraq. Poor Pakistan
Oh this has some strong children of men vibes

Yeah, just what I was thinking. It's almost "that scene".
Help us help more is a beautiful call for all of us to act upon. Some gifts are more than gifts indeed @JohnLewis

Amazing!
Awesome
Please keep up your work...
Funny how the people who started this try to make people that didn't start it feel bad and blame them.
Well he delivered what the girl wants
Scary, but true

A bit off-topic, but looks like the Santa from Ruffneck Bass lost a few pounds.
Why there aren't even 10% likes of the views. Do the viewers don't think it should be liked.

Wow! This Christmas, this blew up.
are you 10 years old? this is a damn war.
@@ripnob yeah and it’s definitely depressing
Is that Emmanuel Lubezki as Santa ?
@Citizen Four There's no credit for who is playing santa anyplace. It looks like Lubezki ... and that would fit with the whole thing so I'm still guessing.
Can we get an F in chat for santa
F
F
F
F
To much work to do in a chat like this based of Advanced Warfare from the Call of Duty series called, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare where you push F on Computer to pay respects for a dead character who didn’t really mean much besides plot wise.
Ask Blackrock they have trillions
*happy holidays*
it’s not a happy holiday at all
You should blame Putin for starting a war.
Can you emit it in spain? please.
Why did you make this. This so sad

Santa can’t deliver Happiness, Sadness, Anger, Madness, or Peace because Santa isn’t real
OOF
well, santa can't deliver anything to anybody ever as it is an imaginary being.
It's not just a saint, it's just a Coca-Cola leprechaun. The real (legendary) Saint Nicholas was a bishop of Myra. And one more thing: Saint Nicholas and muslims? - it doesn't suits
Nothing in this video hints of Islam whatsoever. The buildings' architecture and clothing worn by the people hints closer to those at the borders between Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. You shouldn't make such narrow-minded assumptions.
This is in quite bad taste
Sorry you had to see such horrors and have your holiday mood spoiled, you poor thing.
@@colibriverdeI agree with Thomas. It's in quita an awful taste, the way it depict such a serious tragedy and wrongfully mixing a muslim context with western values (christmas/ santa for christ sake?), no mention that the girl in question looks like a kid taken from a Benetton catalogue, so yeah, quite a bad taste.
@@Mmxxaamm where's this Muslim context? And what do you have against that religion?
savagedragon79 Jesus fuck you didn’t understand anything lol
@@Mmxxaamm Santa Claus is supposed to be beneficent gift giver who loves all children and wants them to be happy, but we all know that many children will not be getting any gifts from anyone. I think that is an important message at this time of year and not in bad taste. Do you think people should forget about those who are suffering and wont be celebrating?- Is that in good taste, how so? What do you mean by "Muslim context"? You are unhappy with the way the child is portrayed, what should the little girl look like, in your opinion?
