    • .36 CALIBER BLACK POWD...
Jim Kibler has been creating flintlock longrifles since 1990. He has combined the precision that comes from his background in metallurgical engineering with a refined sense of design and style to create highly collectible and beautiful flintlock firearms.
His rifles are not only visually appealing, but also fully functional and highly accurate firearms. Jim’s focus has been 18th century American longrifles as well as more elaborate English and Continental pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries.
A collection of photos of Kibler rifles can be found in his online portfolio: jimkibler.net.

@@Real11BangBang They do. Mine is in .45 with extra curly maple. I sent Kibler the stock blank. I bought it from off of a blanket vendor at an event 20 years ago. It still had a Dixie Gun Works address label dated 1972. I suspect it was well cured :)

A flintlock isn’t a bad idea in these days when caps are nowhere to be found. In fact I’ve been shooting mostly my cartridge guns in order to save my caps. That’s the exact opposite of during Covid when I could only find caps and not cartridge ammunition. Great video, thanks for sharing!

I've got a Kibler SMR on the workbench along with another rifle I'm building. I will get them finished one of these days and shoot some videos of the first shots.

One of us ought to do a video about finding and knapping our own flints. At the moment my Harpers Ferry has a piece of relatively raw Idaho jasper that I picked up from a creek bed. Not even actually knapped for the initial 20 +/- shots. Since then I did sharpen it up a bit. But it's still shooting flawlessly after another several shots.
    I LOVE flintlock rifles.

REQUEST - Referred by DukeFrazier. Could you please measure the width of the P Jr frame where it meets to the back strap? I am currently wanting to fit a birdshead backstrap (well entire grip) to 1862 Police. Full size P frame at .88 inches wide accepts the full sized 51 Navy BS. The 1862 is 7/8 size of full frame as well. I called Cimmeron but the guy was awefully dismissive. Only someone with these items can give reliable information on this subject. Anyways ThankYou!
