Another interesting Keith Flynt fact: Soon after Firestarter came out, Keith lived close to an old folks home. Contrary to his menacing persona, he dropped by to visit the old folks quite often and spent several afternoons drinking cups of tea with them. By all accounts, he was a lovely fella. RIP Keith.
Breathe is arguably their pinnacle. It's also their only tune from the 90s, which was the golden era of The Prodigy, to feature both Keith and Maxim on vocals.
I'm old enough to remember The Prodigy first coming about. They are iconic for a lot of people, especially my generation, as they were really the ones who brought Punk, and Metal, together with Rave culture. Consequently they were/are one the few bands that transcend 'types' of music. Ravers, Punks and Metal-heads partied together. Their gigs, and tunes, are a call-out for anyone who is considered to be on the outside of 'normal' society.
Had the single. Lent it to a friend of mine. His nephew stole it, sold it to buy dope. Stories. Fabulous track. There was this techno scene in Sao Paulo at the time, second half of the 90s and kids were crazy about Prodigy, would go to clubs to go nuts. There was something in the air and I loved it. Btw, do listen to The Breeders' first album "Pod". Just love it.
Breathe is another good one off this album. Used to DJ and play that towards the end. Would turn the bass right up and the entire small, underground club would rumble. Saw them support oasis at knebworth and they were the nuts
Just in case folks don't know, this song was one of the reason(s) why this awesome band was not openly promoted in the US; it is a political commentary of the state of things back then (and possibly to some degree even now) where Flint and Co. openly criticized the 'world's most powerful' country
The Prodigy were big in the 90s! They had a long time between the album The Fat of the Land and the following one; and thereon they weren't as relevant any more. The first three albums are good, in my opinion, and also the bootleg remix album of the fourth album. Also, a Finnish music journalist said that how Keith looked brought back some decadence or rebellious style of what was earlier the realm of rock musicians.
There's a prominent sample in this song (the "Hey!) from the song "Close to the Edit" by band Art of Noise that I would highly recommend you react to as well. The Prodigy video also contains a visual reference to the original video (think power tools). Well worth watching: ua-cam.com/video/167KTppW8Yw/v-deo.html
Smack my Bitch Up! Epic video. Shocking when it first came out. Breathe. Great track Invaders Must Die. My fave Prodigy track. If you like this vibe, Primal Scream went a little Prod like with Xtrmntr. Swastika Eyes and Accelerator kills it. Kill All Hippies and Shoot Peed/Kill light are great too
Yes!!! You cannot sit still listening to this stuff. It's scary powerful. Great choice in music Nick. It's just too bad most of your generation cannot be "hip" to their parent's cool 90's music. They have been conditioned to listen to rap with autotune, rattlesnake snare drums and bass distortions. However, video game mfg's have been using music from the deep plethora of good 80's, 90's and early 2k music. Keep on.
Ahhh a classic, this could/should lead back to a deep dive into the UK rave scene. So many awesome tracks..... My suggestion: Altern 8 - "E-Vapor-8" ua-cam.com/video/BkczzkGrYDQ/v-deo.html
Just want to say that I really like your style of reactions. I can't stand when ppl have to keep stopping and starting tracks over and over mostly to just say something inane and usually highly dumb. I also hate that 'we are a couple' thing that has become so big these days. It's basically watching two limited intelligence ppl nodding their heads and continuously interrupting the music simply to add low IQ into the mix and then saying I hope you liked the video! Urm... well yes I liked the original video before it was so ruined by a succession of annoying as hell comments. At least you do some research on what you react to and don't just get overly excited even when a track has clearly impressed you. I watched one reaction couple video yesterday about bittersweet symphony and the male of the couple said 'isn't this dude from brittany' to which the ever so slightly more intelligent female said 'he's British so I guess he's from Britain'. Then a profound look of confusion took hold of the guys face and he said... 'what so there's two Britain's. There's Britain and Brittany. What part of Britain is Brittany'. And I found myself thinking I am actually watching this. What happened that led to me watching this. Carry on the good work.

The more I learn about Keith, the more I like him!
Completely get this
It’s about knowing your assigned role, no matter how disgusting you know it is. Sad but also very empowering.
You probably wouldn't have guessed, but Keith Flint was a keen bird watcher in his spare time.
What an interesting fella, I love that!
Incredible live band.
RIP Keith.
Iconic group.
Good rabbit hole to go down. “Breathe” next
Definitely, awsome song!
Breathe is arguably their pinnacle. It's also their only tune from the 90s, which was the golden era of The Prodigy, to feature both Keith and Maxim on vocals.
Breathe. Great video for Slap My Bitch Up - v funny twist at the end
loved the Prodigy since the early 90's, RIP Keith
Keith Flint - popularizing the bi-hawk since 97.
He first had it in late 95 actually and the Firestarter video is from early 96.
Remember the days when Keith Flint was rhyming slang for having no money. ‘I’m Keith Flint mate’ = ‘I’m skint mate’.
What a band! fat of the land is an amazing album. Full of bangers.

Wow, fantastic this is The best explained and observed video of the prodigy thanks so much
Brilliant band. Their first 2 albums were part of my teenage years.

they were signed up by maverick records which was founded by madonna.
The band initially insisted that their "The fat of the land" album should be retitled "The land of the fat" for its' American release 😄
Love that lol

Even though this is my first Prodigy reaction, I can tell that I ain't gonna be able to sit still with this group.
He is the instagata, twisted fire stata.
Prodigy- 'Voodoo People' is the best
Try "Underworld - Born Slippy" as an iconic UK dance track of the 90's
Can't ignore outa space if you're going do to prodigy....early 90's in Essex
