I wanted to buy Macrame pot hangers but I only had very expensive options. I am so glad I saw this. I am definitely going to try. I loved how simple this video was . Thank you so much. You saved me so much money
Back in my 20s in the 70s are used to be the macramé queen I used to have plant hangers tables you name it I could make it and I did. LOL. Now I want some indoor plant hangers and I thought I’ll look it up and so far yours has been the best tutorial I’ve seen. So thank you
This was my first project since i was a teenager in the 60's. What fun!!! I plan on making many more. Thank you for your wonderful instructions. Yes I agree, having a video made this SO much easier than written instructions. Thank you!!
I improvised towards the end to use up more rope. As someone else commented, there is an excess amount left over that is more than the usual leftovers (for me anyway), so I made more square knots to minimize waste. I used 4mm single strand cotton, so that could also be why I had so much leftover. Looks like she is using t-shirt yarn or something similar. It's probably a lot thicker so more is used during the project. By adding more length to mine, the hanger is able to accommodate larger plant pots (which is what I wanted anyway). I'm a beginner so I'm still learning and this was a nice tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
I made this yesterday ..This was my first plant hanger and I added beads as I like them very much. The instructions are super clear and easy. thank you for the awesome tutorial. Very clear and simple.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm delighted with my first attempt at Macrame! It looks amazing! My first one took around 3 hours but hoping to make more of these very soon and no doubt even quicker!
I love your style of instruction!! ❤ love that you pause and show! I am a beginner and it gets tedious try to pause at the right moment to see exactly what is happening. Thank you! Definitely subscribed! 👏❤
Beautifully explained. I actually have a good feeling that I will successfully make my first plant hanger! Great step by step visuals and explanation. Best video I've seen so far. Looked complicated and almost lost hope just by the look of the hanger, but the video was so clear. thank you!
This was my first macrame project ever... and I loved it. Soo easy and clear... and the result 😍 I'm so happy that I decide to do it myself instead of buying one.
Thank you for this easy to follow macrame tutorial. You did a fantastic job explaining and showing how it's done. I have made several for myself and as gifts. Thank you! :)
I have made this in jute and a white macrame plant 🌱 hangers followings this simple clear explanation turned out to be so lovely 😊 thanks for the awesome 👏 video much appreciated
Hello.. very happy that I could find your channel.you explained it very well.every other channels show in a fast mode which is very difficult for the beginners to follow.thsnks again.keep uploading more.🙋♀️👍
Thank you so much for your clear instructions in this tutorial and in the pdf! I used a thinner rope and adjusted the length of each rope which worked out very nicely. And instead of a metal ring I used a wooden ring. Very pleased with the result for a first time. Thanks to you!
Yes I found other tutorials confusing.this one stays focused on product not the person like others the only bit that confused me is when shes diong the spiral do you do all knots to left only to get spiral look
This is one of the best tutorials i’ve seen so far🥰, i have been looking for other ideas and this caught my eye! It turned out lovely, and thank you for this video madam.💕💕
Taking into account all the knots, can you tell me how to determine the length of rope I would need for a shorter plant hanger.. I really like your video. Very understandable!
Hi Deb, it's difficult to give a direct answer as it depends on a number of factors. It's the knots that take up the most of the rope - you can shorten the gaps between the knot sections to adjust the height, or do fewer knots - with this tutorial, the hanger is about 1.5m long. How much rope also depends on the size of your rope (we've used 5mm). I'd err on the side of caution!
Thank you so much for the video - the hanger I just made using this tutorial is AMAZING! However I got about 1,5 metres of excess rope left...Great video nonetheless
Thanks Mary! The great thing about macrame is that you can adjust the lengths to work for you - so this tutorial was for a pot around 20cm in diameter, but if your pot is bigger, just increase the length before tying the final knot. This hanger is around 1m + tails :)

Hi! Thank you for your tutorial! Could you tell me what the lengths of the cords are in feet or yards?
Never mind I figured out. It's about 13 feet in case anyone wants to know
😊
Thanks Dianah! We used 5mm rope x 50m bundle and had plenty spare (but not enough to make two this size)
This is amazing!! What size is the metal ring??
Thanks Laura, the ring is 3 inches :)
Fantastic
Beautiful work. What size cord do you use, it looks quite thick?
Thank you! It was cotton macrame rope that was 5mm x 50m. 😊
Grt...u r superb
Excellent tutorial! How large of a pot would work with this and what is the overall length of the planter? Thank you :)
Thanks Mary! The great thing about macrame is that you can adjust the lengths to work for you - so this tutorial was for a pot around 20cm in diameter, but if your pot is bigger, just increase the length before tying the final knot. This hanger is around 1m + tails :)
Love this, where can I find the rope?
Hi Adrie, many craft shops sell it, or search for 'macrame cord' to find some similar to this :)
Thanks for watching everyone
