I absolutely love this tutorial! I followed right along with the measurements and it worked perfectly with my small pot. The only thing I would personally do differently is not use 100 in strands for the project. I ended up with about 25 inches of wasted cord at the end. So I may use 80 or 75 in strands instead. Great beginner project; this was my first ever macrame!
As a child of the 60s, I used to do this all the time, but have forgotten everything. This was a great tutorial and brought back many fond memories. My project came out perfect.
Worked out very nicely; I used to do macrame decades ago but I've forgotten most of the knots, so this was a good little refresher. My hanger's going to hold a kind of tall glass mason jar that I'm using to root Pothos cuttings, so I gave it an extra round of knots; it worked very well and looks great! After I trimmed the tassel at the end, I did one little last thing to give it some stability: a bit of Elmer's Glue (not the washable kind) inside the top of the tassel just below the end of the final 20' cord wrap. Thanks for this cute little pattern!
Really like how you did this tutorial. Clear demonstration and calming music. Love the finished product and excited to make this. Thank you for sharing your talent and creativity with us.
I think it's iimportant to mention that after the very first knot to tie all strings together you should leave a good leght of rope free before you start your square knots, I didn't realise that and ended with the pot hanging way too close to the hoop. :(
It depends how long or short you want your hanger to be and what size pot you’ll be using. If you watch the video through til the end you’ll get an idea for how much space you’ll need to keep :) hope this helps :)
The one I’ve used in the video is quite small. If you want to use a larger pot, leave more space between the top row of square knots to the 2nd lot :) xx
Why wouldn't you suggest for 6inch pots start THIS far down or for this length start this far down. Saying it's up to use has made me ruin a bunch of first attempts. 😑

That's what I thought. What a waste.

Absolutely I did the same thing forgetting you needed space for the pot. Now I need to undo all the knots and start over XD
Please make more! I'm just starting, and your video is by far the nicest to follow! xx
Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces explications 🙏🙏🙏
Very good done very good fantastic thank you
Hi, I really like the way you teach and the little tips you give it help so much from a beginner like me 😊
Best tutorial saw this far
Amazing tutorial. Super easy to follow. One tip is that you don't need as much rope as suggested for the 14. I suggest 50cm less than recommend.
How far down until the first set of 3 square knots? Thank you for the tutorial!

This is also my only issue with this tutorial
How far down the rope am I supposed to make the first square knots ?!
I wondered too, then I watched the full video. It really depends on how long or short you'd like it to be. I think!
Yes, it depends on how short or long you need it to be
How far down do we start the 3 square knots?
I did 12 inches for mine and it turned out well for a small/medium pot!
I'm going to try this tonight!!!
Excellently, really I learnt it .
Thank you 😂
I would only change 1 thing. The bottom knot could slide down and off the end of the tassel. So I’m going to tie the lengths of rope together instead.
Thanks for the tutorial can you tell me what diameter rope works best? Thank you
It is wonderful. You explain very well.
Super !🌼🌼🌼
I love this! I cannot wait to try it, wonderful tutorial! Thank you ❤️
beautiful!!!!
Beautiful. I will for sure try this project. Thank you. ❤️
Is there a way to make this smaller?
How long if my pot is only 3.5 inches across
Lindo!
What is the final length of the hanger ?
Thanks 👍
Size of the wooden ring?
What size pot did you use?
The one I’ve used in the video is quite small. If you want to use a larger pot, leave more space between the top row of square knots to the 2nd lot :) xx
Mükemmel👌👍
Its missing a full Pic with the final result and the looooong tail ... And also the First knots... We dont know what Is the distance from the top
It doesn't say at all how far down we start the square knots with the first 4 cords. It didn't make sense.
Did you just make me cut a bunch of 100inch pieces of rope.... just to cut off.... like 20inches of it?
The 100inch pieces are to make the plant hanger and then there are 2x 20 inch pieces to tie the top and bottom :)
I use my scraps to make feathers❤
@@kimberleynicholas9450 that’s a great idea! I use mine to stuff pillows with :)

Why the heck don't you tell us how far down to start the knots? This is ridiculous without knowing how far down they go
Because this is something you have to decide on your own. She doesn't know what size your pot is or how long you want it to be in the end.
Ridiculous comment. It's totally situational. How could she possibly know what you specifically want? Think.
