Use the charge attack flask, you will need it for the dlc. Also you can put golden vow on like a dagger to get a defense buff and if your also using that charm that increases weight the rashaka armor is just a better spell blade when paired with golden vow (50 poise/physical protection)
Don’t you need to have Carian Regal Scepter in hand to benefit from the buff to full moon sorceries or was that purely for the full moon spell and not the dark moons heavy attack? Still learning just want to ask to be sure so I know what it’s doing for me exactly, thank you for the video and time you spent putting this together sir 🙏🤘
Yuuuup, purely for Moon damage, It could be really any catalist. But since we're already using that one spell, might as well get the extra spell damage. The real deal here is the extra 10% Magic damage enemies take from the spell after it's used. Thanks man!
@@rpjames8 Would this be a good idea if I play through most of the game with the guts build and then respec my build for the build in the video when I’m about to start the dlc? I’m just a big sucker for the moonlight sword as I even centered my build around it in bloodborne..
@@angelmiii yup, you can get up to 15 respec Ítems in your first playthrough. Just make sure youre following Ranni's questline, and Seluvis, he's the one that gives you Magic scorpion charm!
I did a guts build started with vagabond. I'm doing this build now starting with prisoner cause if u wanna stay at level 150 stats are kinda tight on this build
I do everything the same except 22 mind 28 endurance. The three mind u lose about 15 fp the skill costs 30 something but extra carry weight let's u be at 51 poise without help from tallismans
Since the game came out, I’ve had the dark moon sword two handed, and left hand a scepter with random moon spells and mobbing spells. However, when I use the Moon buff of the sword, it only gets a buff if I’m one-handing it? Meaning buff the sword with the L2, then one hand the sword and also hold the scepter ? Or is having it equipped enough ? Never even thought of it lol I just thought it looked cool
Your question is a little confusingly worded, are you asking if the Carian Regal Scepter's passive buff to moon sorceries boosts the Darkmoon Greatsord's skill Moonlight Greatsword? If yes: no it does not Moonlight Greatsword is a weapon skill and not a sorcery, thus does not receive the buff. If no: I am sorry I did not understand the question and could not provide an answer.
Great video. Do you need to upgrade the jellyfish shield for increased damage from the ash of war? Or does it do the same amount of damage from base level?
Yea I’m with mistakai on this one. If it was 2 or even 1 year ago then I can see this being pretty helpful to players looking to make the sword stronger. But at this point most people have beaten the game at least once, rannis ending is the most popular among those people, and the sword and dark moon are the rewards for that quest. Making this build even more well known and obvious to the majority of players who are going to play dlc. Not a bad build or guide for the build at all, but still he’s right about it being generic and obvious
@@rpjames8if it helps I found this video very useful since I only just beat Elden Ring for the first time and getting ready for new game plus. Thanks for the information.
Well, you can replace it with something different you're only losing 12% DMG. In the grand scheme of things we're stacking up to 100 with everything else. Play with that extra talisman slot!
Is there a way to make it even more powerful with stuff from the DLC? I am making my way through the DLC for my second time and I do not intend to spend another 78 deaths on the final boss(to be fair I also didn't use this build on my first run through the DLC, I used the godskin Peeler)
I’m running a very similar build, I like yours using the fp reduction in the flask. I just beat fire giant so hopefully I’ll get shard of Alexander soon. One thing that I’ve added is a dagger with the faith ash of war that buffs attack and defense. Can’t remember the name.
I'm currently building this setup. Jellyfish shield, outfit and the sword at plus 10 are all I have at the moment. I'm still MELTING everything I encounter, though to be fair I haven't fought a big boss yet, but the magma wyrm I just fought was brutalized. This is with ZERO talismans equipped full stop. Yeah no, this build is cracked.

I just beat the game using int and a similar build. That weapon was huge fun.

hows this weapon for the DLC currently?
@@alexnguyen_ honestly I fought gaius and got my shit rocked cause his resistances to it but the other enemies seemed to get killed pretty quickly
@Lanza27 is it easy to play? Also what if i dont spam charged often
Snow witch hat-azuur glintstone robe- radahn gloves, bullgoat legs 50 poise. Looks good
Dark moon greatsword is definitely fp efficient for dungeons to
I must be tired because I swear the thumbnail was showing a Darkmoon GS Build. However, the title says something completely different yet familiar 🙃
Youre not tired. Mistake Its immediately corrected. Lol

Guys I got a question that for some reason I can’t find answers to online, how do you cast spells while having a sword in your main hand? I’m on pc
I’m getting the game soon, and mannn I’m torn up on either doing this build or doing the Berserk Guts build. They both look so appealing to me
@@angelmiii id advice going guts berserk. This one takes a bit of time to set It Up. Guts you can literally get It going from game start.

Do you recommend pairing this sword with the moonveil katana?
Yes! Less damage, more speed. It's fun

Nope, but its a good idea for the extra guars boost!
Did they nerf the jellyfish shield with this build?
You made a generic video about an obvious buff routine and stat loadout but completely failed at the most important element of every build: fashion.
The buff routine and stat is not obvious to everyone. But Im glad we have almighty all knowing Ofnirs like you to let us know. Thank you.
Now what armor set would you use . I keep seeing the really nice knight blue set in some videos .
@@VenialbartenderI use the beast champion armor set with diallos mask. Looks legit

So its not dependant on the ash of war attack? I may try this. Once you max int out where would you put other points? Str and mind?
Scale the stats of the sword or just get more mind/vigor fp/health
Does the nerf changes the playstyle with this greatsword.???
Not at all, nerfs where just beam poise damage. They didnt nerf the damage on itself.
HOLY GREATMOON THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE
It is!

Look at my other comment on this video, it has some more buffs/defense
What sword can I use along with the dark moon sword because I like to do some close combat also 😅
Moonveil katana
claymore is great

is it just me or does this suck in dlc? A patch nerfed the magic ranged attack a lot yes?>
No, it just did on the poise damage. The base damage of the weapon proyectile is still the same.
