I am a Bonnie Raitt fan, from way back. I approve this cover. I like Sarah anyway, so maybe I am biased. This was a heartfelt wonderful performance. Thanks Sarah.
Sorry I forget to say, Sarah performs one of the best versions of this fantastic song. The sound quality of this video isn't my favourite but her voice has it what many other performers, especially the talentshow singers don't got !!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are a lot of cover versions of this song but anybody who has a voice & knows how sad is a love without a reply can give this song the soul which is needed for this classic. I wonder why it isn't already used for a movie!!!!
Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin wote the song in 1991, Bonnie recorded among many artists, but I think Sarah version is definitely the best. Her voice is so wispy that you get drawn into it like you are hearing it for the first time.
Sarah Bettens heeft de meest speciale stem die ik met mijn relatief onervaren oortjes gehoord heb. Heb alle CD's, dit kende ik niet, maar even prachtig...
I'm sure a die hard Bonnie Raitt fan such as yourself wouldn't be happy with anyone else playing this song. As a Sarah Bettens fan, it was cool to see her play a few songs other than her own. To each their own!
Being a die hard Bonnie Raitt fan since 1973, it isn't always easy to listen to someone else sing what she has recorded ...but this was OK. It has made me rethink posting my own version that is on my short list because it makes it clear how hard it is to come close .......
I love Sarah Bettens voice, but I also think Bonnie Raitt's recording of this song has much more depth. I do wonder if much of the problem is the audio quality (or lack thereof) of this video. Sarah's voice is much richer than this vid is able to capture - probably no one's fault under the circumstances. Yah - I'm also used to hearing Bonnie do this one - catches the heartstrings. :`)
It is hard for any performer to do a decent version of ANY song in a small venue with just one accompanying instrument. I think she did Bonnie Raiit proud. I was a Bonnie fan about the same time I became a Sarah fan....so my call on this is fair and balanced, lol (unlike Fox News)
I like it Sarah Bettens!!!! I adore this song!!! I look at the every day this photograph which one together took with your bass player lol but good it surment forgot me. I am that a fan like another looool
I totally agree with your sentiment & respect your loyalty to Sarah B, who I must confess I have never heard of. I will just say this;I am moved to tears EVERY time I hear Bonnie sing this song. Unfortunately,I had no such response hearing this version. The aching sense of loss & abandonment which I always hear in Bonnie's version were simply absent, & for me at least,in the absense of an emotional & cathartic reaction in this listener, the song does not work.
Oh dear. As a dedicated Bonnie Raitt fan & particularly of THIS song, I rather wish I had NOT heard the Sarah Bettens version. This is a tuneless & soulless attempt & would have been better NOT attempted. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
Absolutely fantastic. She has such a beautiful voice. I would so love to see her live. And such a pretty girl
x
this is a beautiful song. her voice is ahmazing. i truly feel this song.
What a wonderful voice!
this is one of the most amazing songs, written, period.

Eddie's Attic is the best music venue in Atlanta, and there's no better place to see Sarah Bettens.

No, her brother is Gert Bettens. Tom Kestens just joined Sarah for a handful of shows in 2007.

She has really great taste in covers.
Sarah Bettens is echt een topper als het gaat om balads!! Kippenvel.

Well kool version,it's funny, this is probably the most beautiful song ever written, but we never here it on our radios.....weird?
Nah,Bonnie didn't write this one dude!
