I still remember the moment Misbah hit the ball in the air... I felt my heart stop and the time freeze until the camera focused on Sreesanth taking the catch... One of the most awesome scenes I can remember as a kid!!!

i just cant imagine how happy indian fan must be because I clearly remember at that time it felt that misbah will win the game for us. misbah was taking it easily and joginder sharma felt like a easy bowler to hit
i was only 10 years old in 2007 and remember each and every ball of it and how disappointed pakistani the next day and started hating misbah so much because of playing that shot and even though he did so much for pakistani cricket everyone just couldn't forgive him for this blunder
This was the best T20 World Cup.
Both India and Pakistan were knocked out of 50 over World Cup in 1st round that year. Both the teams were underdogs in this tournament and reaching finals was remarkable.

He should be commentator not coach and remove Kohli as captain too. These two will make indian tema like RCB

Had India not won this one, IPL would not have arrived in 2008. Maybe 2010

Guys, please let’s not forget it was Harbhajan Singh’s idea to give him the last over. A lesser known one but due credit needs to be given.
Mishbah was a gentleman..really under appreciated..he was captain at a terrible period
Everyone who criticized his style doesn't understand.he always came at 30/4 and 100/4
He always covered it up.with his hitting ..
I wonder why he was included in the team so late ..

Thank you for this! Misbah is hated by many fans because of this moment! Although it was a bad shot, you have to respect him for bringing them back into the game! Also, he did a great job captaining and staying strong especially after the spot fixing incident. Truly one of my favorite players!
Unforgettable moment 😍 India pulled the WC without a coach!!

This t20 final will be the best of the best...everything was there in this anticlimax final...misbah 4 sixes to final over drama...
I think the even that launched the IPL was not this tournament.
When India crashed out of the 2007 50-over World Cup, then due to the huge disappointment in the fans, a rival ICL (India Cricket League) was launched. That was the precursor to the IPL. When BCCI realized that they will lose market share and dominance to this new league, they not only threatened the players who took part in ISL, but also wasted no time in launching their own T20 league which became known as the IPL.
The IPL has been a huge success, but we should not forget that it was the 2007 World Cup and the subsequent launching of ICL that led to the creation of IPL and all the success that have followed. Kudos to the disruptive forces of the erstwhile ICL!
When Misbah hit that last shot that was literally a Heart Attack moment

I watched this match,& I still remember, when misbah hit the ball in the air, everyone thought that India lost the game.
I was in an NCC camp when this tournament took place. After lots of begging by the cadets (all of our groups had come from colleges from different parts of the State of Maharashtra) to let us watch at least IND's matches, they told us only if IND reaches the Final. When we learnt IND reached the Semi we pleaded again saying it may be the last match they play in the tournament (since it was against AUS who had also won the WC earlier that yr), the officials there probably believed that too & they let us watch the Semi which IND won, the Final we were all promised so didn't require any pleading & it was incredible. Those Army men & us NCC cadets were as if competing to show enthusiasm over every Wicket in the end (next day we learnt one of them in excitement even broke a chair lol). Over all we were all away from home & thoroughly enjoyed the Semi & especially that Final that I can never forget that feeling of excitement.
2018-1993=25 years, here it is 25 moments.
I wish I could watch this match live😢
For all those people who are saying that ipl won't have been there without this.....
A different t20 league with a different name was already created in 2007 so the arrival of ipl was quite obvious

I can never forgive Misbah for this. It shattered me, even though Pakistan won it in 2010, winning against India and winning the first T20 world cup would've been awesome. Tough luck.
Man he tried he took Pakistan close so give him the due credit yeah that lost shot was idiotic but he is a human too and Dhoni's tactics, field placement were too good so you can't pin your loss only on him.
Pakistan deserves credit of going so far it was failed attempt or a stupid shot by misbah that gifted victory to india.
Pakistan is a failed attempt
It's been more than a decade, get over it man and accept that your players are interested in fixing games rather than winning them
@@gurbindersekhon8240 yeah the Indian players are clean and we are the fixers only rite? You guys ban our players and you guys are responsible for finishing cricket in Pakistan. Ashwin was trying to become number 1 when BCCI and ICC banned Ajmal Suniel Narine and Ajantha mendis

Let me offer you a little consolation dude.... IPL isn't used solely for gambling...it's used to convert black money into white by offering a lot of employment to people who don't give a fuck about cricket...
If only you could offer more money to your players, or better infrastructure to your cricket and instill morals they'd not sell their dignity and be blinded by the fallacious glitz and glamour the ephemeral gobbledygook sport provides..

Still disappointed that ESPNcricinfo doesn't have the rights to the video. C'mon.
It's insane that Ravi Shastri has been part of so many iconic moments in Indian Cricket as a commentator.
1. Yuvraj 6 sixes against Stuart Broad
2. India winning T20 WC against Pak
3. India winning ODI WC agains SL
4. Sachin reaching 200* breaking the highest individual score record, against SA
Dhoni a bigger punter than Ponting
How many are going to watch the finale highlights now
People who’re saying if India didn’t win there wouldn’t be IPL clearly don’t know that IPL was born the day ICL got formed. IPL would’ve come irrespective of whether we had won the match or not.
Ladies and Gentlemen its 2020 and IPL has became the best cricketing tournament in the world
Hit harder than a heartbreak

Over decade later I'm still sad about it.
When Misbah hit that we Indians thought the match was gone but surprisingly srishant( not a great fielder) caught it ....
lol man talked all about the wicket that how it changed the cricket for T20 but didn't showed up real clip. damn
2:01 some things never change 😁😁
Same thing happened to Dhoni in 2019 WC semifinal that happened to Misbah
Espn doesn't have the actual footage 🤔🤔🤔
They almost certainly would have a copy of it somewhere, but that doesn’t mean they are allowed to use it. The footage itself probably belongs to the ICC as they would have organised the actual filming on the day. ESPN then paid the ICC for the right to play this footage to all their customers, effectively a bit like renting it, but if ESPN wants to use it again later for something else (such as these clips) they need to go back to the ICC and negotiate a new price to ‘rent’ it again.
People need to stop blaming misbah, I watched this game live and I have even watched it again, the way Pakistanis messed up, they lost not because of misbah but because of everyone else.
I sighed relief and then laughed my ass off that sreesanth who I never even thought was qualified to play galli cricket caught it, quite a miserable way to loose a winning game, quite a way to loose to India and quite a way to loose world cup 😂🤦🏽♂️
masterminded by dhoni.....
The Indian media ESPNIndia hypes indian cricket extravagantly. I still remember it was a wrong decision by Dhoni to introduce Sharma and he knew he had lost the game which reflected from the sigh of relief on dhonis face after misbah gave his wicket away, the last ball flick came as a fluke that won India the game, the game was a thriller.
Then why do you even watch it .
Dhoni had no alternative. It was either Joginder Sharma or Harbhajan and Bhajji went for 3 sixes in his last over against Misbah. So it had to be Joginder.
Pakistan team ke liye ct2017 fluke tha ...jise hindi me tikka kahte hi ...india ek world class team hi ...jiske jitne par nahi balki harne par HEADLINES banti hi
It wasnt the first time dhoni has gone with jogindher for the final over. He opted the same bowler even in the semi final. And to ur notice misbah opted for that particular shot also because of the field placement set by dhoni ,if the fine leg was back at the boundary and then mosbah would have tried a slog .so i guess that wicket is result good field placement and good bluff.previos two balls where full toss and a wide .misbah was expecting a yorker again ,joginder bluffed him by bowling a normal back of length delivery.
Yup..just like 2017 ICC champions trophy final. That was a fluke. Pakistan didn't deserve to win the game..it was a complete fluke.. isn't it??
Why are you not includ shahid afridi fastest century? In odi
It was India that’s why it was iconic

No you said it wrong.
And that paved way for an over-hyped and commercialized tournament that would go on to reduce the gentlemen's game to a daily soap opera for Indian men.

By not showing the actual footage of the last ball this video loses crucial punch.
2019
Pakistanis cricketers always say they knew everything...but they don't. Here's the proof of it...misbah and dravid's interview
so what?? we can not play 50 overs in street cricket
For people praising Dhoni! It was a tactical blunder, his miscalculation is the reason joginder Sharma had to bowl the last over. 13 required of the last over. And getting hit for 6 and wide ,we're lucky to have won that final
Aspiring movie star Dhoni? In which universe?
The term messed up by Misbah is not appropriate in my opinion
So we get to the "endgame".
Why not included ipl in this list😑..
What's with the horrible sketch of the last ball !!
I wish Sreesanth didn’t get involved in fixing and ruin his career
Also India was coming from a humiliating world cup.
I would say the moment which ruined cricket. if this was not then we would still be having interests in50 ovr cricket and test series which is real cricket but this ruined everything
