- Comparing the nVidia Geforce GT 710 video adapter against Intel’s HD 630 integrated graphics card in 6 low spec PC games in 2022.
I made a UA-cam short advising people not to buy “gaming PCs” with GT 710s in them, suggesting that Intel’s HD graphics iGPUs have been at least as powerful for the last 5 years or so. In this video, I have the receipts.

Okay, that’s it! I solemnly swear, no more GT 710 content from me for AT LEAST a year. I’ve sold both my cards.
Now do it with OC on the GT 710, were not ganna accept defeat this quick
Edit: Crap you already though of that
So you have been up to no good :)
i want gt 710 watercooled video right now please i need it
Gtx 745 4gb next
Pls can you make 3090 with 3 1030s?
I don’t understand how people can still pretend the 710 is better. I remember watching the LTT video where they removed the GPU on an ultra budget meme build and it performed way better. The whole blind belief that ANY dedicated GPU is superior is so unbelievably stupid.
Yeah, I have a first gen Ryzen CPU without an integrated GPU, but if it did, it would be way better than my old HD 5770
Not ANY but some like Vega 8, Vega 11
@@RowanBird779 But HD5700 is a high end GPU (on release). The GT710 isn't.
@@StriderVM yeah, even that would probably outperform both of these
@@RowanBird779 Yeah. Definitely that. I still own a working Radeon 5850, its almost as powerful as a Geforce 750 Ti (GT740?) The biggest issue is outdated drivers and feature set. Which disallows it running most modern games.
me with my uhd 630: you hear that lil buddy? You're better than a "gaming" dedicated GPU.
I have seen quite a few "gaming" prebuilts where the AMD APU or Intel iGPU was faster than the GT 710. So some of those companies actually waste money to DOWNGRADE the computer in an attempt to help market it to people who think a Geforce is always better.
@official_VGG70 Oh my goodness, why does HE get all the luck.......what about me, is there any chance I can benefit from this FANTASTIC opportunity, that is not in the slightest bit scamy?? I want to claim MY prize from this totally random but completely trustworthy individual.
@@SA77888 dude just got ghosted 😔
They are dumping inventory when they do it.
i think the previous commentors didn't knew that valorant was on resolution of 1920x1080 while most of them are using 1366x768 resolution which only performs 60+ frames on certain maps. And man dont worry your gt710 is not faulty on overwatch gameplay t, i also tried and got same error its the card that is not supported whel by overwatch 2. Great video
you can run the game. i do play overwatch on my gt630 1gb and used to get that error you need to downgrade your nvidia driver to 460.89
I can relate to this, i been using gt710 almost for 2 years. And its been really dreadful using it as "gaming". Now i upgraded 1660 super i never felt such heaven its really bizzare
I just bought the gt 710 you sold online. It makes a good back scratcher
just realized that i was using a gt 710 and had a intel UHD 630 integrated, I know its just a 5 to 10 fps difference but holy i need that in some games
You've quickly become one of my favorite techtubers, keep up the great work fam!
Good video. I bought 20 low end cards from Evga on a clearance sale in 2019, right before the pandemic. They are a mix of gt710's, gt610's, gt 210's and 8400gs's. I think they were all $7 each.
I gave about half of them away to family and friends who aren't gamers or needed something just to be able to use their pc during the pandemic card shortage.
I use one of the gt 710's that is a x8 pcie length to test pc's, it easily fits on any pc.
Very nice from you! I was worried to read another one of those: "and then I sold them each for $200 lol" comments.
You know the video is fake? Just look at how the GT710 runs on 900mhz and not 1500mhz
@@justagamerhun2228 The gt 710 is supposed to clock 954 mhz, where did you read it should do 1500?
@@justagamerhun2228 yeaaa. idk what card u thinking off but gt710 is 954mhz and memory is 900 as well, mby u thought gt 1010 accidentally ors (not sure what mhz it runs at but i think it was around 1400 or 1500mhz)
@@justagamerhun2228Are you saying all the other reviews, past or present, are fake too? Is it a conspiracy where the whole world has a grudge against the GT710? But surely, if you had any doubts, you would buy a brand new GT710 plus a CPU with the same iGPU, and do your own benchmarks to prove everyone wrong?
OMG THIS IS truly once in a lifetime experience the battle of the Titans its finally here
My overclocked HD5770 is twitching in the corner.
One thing the GT710 is good for is XP gaming. I bought the same ASUS GDDR5 card for my previous XP Core 2 Quad machine and it ran pretty well, especially for the £25 I paid for it new.
That and giving an iGPU-less system a display, too.
the xp gaming use case seems interesting. On the other hand, I disagree to some extent about the use case for igpu-less systems. I looked at the average price for used gtx1050 on eBay Germany, and found, that the gt710 is basically in the same price range despite being an eol Product. The only pro for the gt710 is, that the 1050 have mostly active cooler designs. It really depens on the market.
I still wouldn't recommend one as a GT730 struggles with nfs MW2005, and a 8800 decimates it even in newer titles granted it can run them.
@@tilburg8683 You know the video is fake? Just look at how the GT710 runs on 900mhz and not 1500mhz
@@justagamerhun2228 I don't even need to know, I used to have a 730 4GB a 8800GT decimated it in all games. A igpu from 2014 does the same.
The only thing the 710 is gonna be running with a lot of effort is windows.
@@tilburg8683 Hm, it ran pretty well when I tested it. Granted, I have an R7 250 now that runs it waaaay better but it certainly wasn't slow.
All this does not mean the gt710 is useless, as a display adapter for general desktop use it works just fine. If you happened to need 4-5 display outputs on an office pc, combining a gt710 + an igp is a good solution.
Absolutely, I don't think anyone would disagree. They're cheap, reliable and perform well in that sort of scenario. They're often supplied by OEMs for that purpose. It's the idea of using it in a "gaming" PC that's the problem.
HD Graphics from Skylake onwards have at least GT 730 performance.
I've literally seen people use GT 710 when they're basically ignoring the much powerful Vega 3 graphics on their APU.
People were really acting cocky with a glorified HDMI port 😐😐😐 probably the same kids that say their 90hp economy car beat a corvette
This woke up some memories when you showed elden ring, in early 2017 i got my first gaming pc, i5 7500, 16gb ram, etc. but i didn't have a GPU yet and i was still seeing options, but for the time being i had to use the UHD 630 graphics, and tldr; i played dark souls 3 in it, and at 720p it was quite playable besides some sections in the ringed city, but man does time fly
It could be worse I had to use my backup card about a month ago after my GPU died. My backup card is just for testing if systems boot or not it is GT 705. Thankfully ebuyer got my GPU to me faster than I expected so I didn't have to use it for long.
honestly, I don't get how people are saying 710 is good for gaming, I have a 720 on my old PC and it just sucks to play even play game like Minecraft
ok Touhou fan
I get 60+ fps on my GT 710👍
During the covid pandemic with crazy GPU prices, I bought a bunch of Oland GPUs for my children for the home PCs to use for online schooling and eSports. GT 710 competitor at a much lower price. We just gotta do what we gotta do when the need arises.
Bro this channel is a hidden treasure
woah this video is actually helpful. i recently changed pc and my old graphics card was the gt 710 and the new one was the intel hd graphics and was wondering which one was better

Well, if you’ve bought a camera in Birmingham or Solihull between 2004 and 2020 then maybe we’ve met!
Dude ur underrated asf the amount of quality your videos have is very good 👍
You really need to test the dell gtx 745 that had 4gb of vram. When GPU market was to high for most people I bought a few of these cards to put in systems I made for people and even with ddr3 memory it's was still a good card. Nvidia still provide current driver's for it to.
Definitely a video I would like you to make so can share to people
You can overclock it well to
If you are going to buy a gpu it should be substantially better not just a little better before overclocking. New intel and amd graphics are also far better
I have an Alienware GTX 745 as my first gpu for a custom pc, poor thing still runs.
@@primekrunkergamer188 definitely new cards are much better. Reason I say test the gtx 745 is it was such a capable card for the day. The fact it still has updates surprises me. When over clocked was on par easily with a gtx 750 but didn't need any extra power connectors. And when GPU prices were stupid people asked me to build there pc to play GTA 5 and fortnight and the gtx 745 was more than capable of playing them at reasonable settings
745 are like 200% faster than a 710. Its even of the "X" family, which Nvidia uses to distinguish gaming cards, GTs are HTPCs at best and criminally priced.
Great video. Does that mean that the FX8320 that I still use isn't being looked down upon? 😂
We can dream!
The seller's name usually starts with iBuy and ends with power

Those people claming they get higher fps in Valorant are running the game at 800×600 resolution on their 12 year old monitor lmao
My monitor is about that old and it runs at 1080p. 800x600 is the standard resolution for the early 2000s.
GT 710 is comparable to UHD Graphics 610 and does beat Intel HD Graphics 4600 and below. UHD Graphics 630 is comparable to GT 730. It's really interesting to see how much you can push these low-end GPUs but GT 710 is about as worth as a footlong Subway sandwich at best in terms of performance. You could get better cards for dirt cheap but they're pretty damn old. It's only usefulness for normal people is to be a display card.
Ok but what is the song you used when testing
as a general rule of thumb, never buy entry lever nvidia graphics. they are all too expensive to be worth the spend. instead get a ryzen 2200g. once oerclocked, performs the same as a good gt1030 and some bioses even let you use up to 3gb of vram for the igpu.
Atleast get a 4c/8t cpu, 4c/4t is going to be a stuttering mess in a cpu intensive games
@@arcueid3352 ah right, the 2400g has 8 threads. i don't know everywhere else but where i live the 2400g costs about the same the 2200g does and sometimes even less for whatever reason.

when i upgraded my pc with a gt 710 a couple of years ago the difference was night and day. i got more than triple the performance i was getting. that said, it was an old optiplex running a 2nd gen i3 that i got for free and we all know how terrible 2nd gen igpus are... if you have something with at least somewhat decent igpu, keep it and upgrade on a 2nd date. that pc with the 710 is still in service as an home pc, and i've upgraded my gaming one
You know the video is fake? Just look at how the GT710 runs on 900mhz and not 1500mhz
@@justagamerhun2228 depends, many gt 710 run at around 900mhz, that's just the base clock, depends on the model
@@Artemis_WR yeah, my i7 integrated graphics were worse than an old 9500gt my dad had... for a good margin. The 9500gt game me multiple times the performance.
Tho, the 2nd gen k series igpus were somewhat.. less worse, for some reason. Which to me makes no sense, because 1 - the Z67 boards were not released right away, and in the beginning the only chipset you could use to overclock them at first, the P67 chipset, had no igpu support; and 2 - even after the Z67 boards were released, who the hell was gonna use a K cpu with its igpu? lol
tldr, use what you have to, IF you have to, but buying a 710 with the purpose of gaming is like buying a pet rock to use as a hammer.
Sure it's cheaper than a fancy nail gun, but you're probably overlooking some pretty important factors, like the fact that rocks aren't a hot commodity and you don't have to purchase them in a crate... or spend any money on them at all a lot of the time.
Damn you've triple subscribers since the 3k subscribers video 3 months ago!
Yes, the UA-cam Algorithm went digging down the side of the couch looking for recommendations, found my 16 vs 32GB video and showed it to almost a quarter of a million people. I'm very lucky!
I bought a 730 2gb gddr5 to achieve the performance of getting output for 2 monitors from a lf pc for office work. I don't know how to check the fps in excel
The GT 710 is a very good card... if you have an older PC with no HDMI output and need to connect to a TV or something. Not gaming for sure.
I mentioned it on a previous GT 700 series video: my daughter's $35 AMD APU has a faster Radeon GPU in it than the GT 710/730. The GT 700 series are for suckers!
Wait...there are people out there who think the GT710 isn't that bad and/or defend it?
it gets 30 fps dude
how did you make the gt 710 only work in valorant is it because of the gpu bottleneck?
Only people who fell for the '710 gaming pc' lie would shill for that display adapter.
Jay's Tech tips is my favorite channel
I like when he says "it's tippin' time"
Lol the fact that some people think and ancient gpu made for more display ports (not gaming) is somehow good for gaming
The conclusion is a golden rule, true words indeed.
Found this vid and thought I would comment. My old Gaming PC recently had a problem. The GTX 1070 gave up the ghost. Not really a problem as It had really just been used by this point as my Main Work PC , which includes 3D in Sketchup. CPU is the Kaby Lake I5 - 7600K overclocked to 4.9 Ghz. So I chucked the old GTX1070 and switched over to the on board HD630 GPU, fearing the worst. Imagine my surprise when the performance seemed to increase for my use case. Must be a latency issue being resolved going from shifting images out of the CPU to an external graphics card , now to moving the image just across the silicone to the internal GPU. For the Record my system includes 16GB of 3600mhz DDR4 - CL16 Memory on a Z270 motherboard.
You were probably just using integrated graphics to begin with in most programs because I can promise you no integrated graphics are ever going to outperform a 1070 no matter the use case
Gaming on Mobile Intel HD 3000 in 2022, and I am happy.🙂
For the fun of it I wonder how hd 730 graphics stack up against it. Maybe in like a short because we know it's not a contest sadly.
Probably little bit better since it's a generation ahead
i had an hd 620 and an uhd 620 and im gonna tell you, its almost identical (just started being better when i put dual channel ram)
@@vixeythevixen I mean, dual channel RAM when using an iGPU is the most basic thing to do, ever.
These days the integrated intel graphics are really good if you just don't have the money for a gpu, i mean a lot of people who are judging the intel graphics are the type to want everything maxed with 60+fps at 1080p and higher so it doesn't speak how bad or good the intel graphics are.
I mean I used it but I knew that 1080p wasn't feasible if you go lower on resolution you can still pull fps now buying it for gaming is dumb but if it's all you got you have to manage your expectations
Kind of funny what people expect from a dated display adapter. Any sort of iGPU will be functionally similar with neither option being particularly interesting for graphical intensive applications (even if you can sort of get away with it).
the 710 was not even ment for gaming its a display card that had been used in office computers. because some offices used more then 1 monitor so they could use 2 or 3 back in the day thats why the 1 gb vram later people used it for gaming because it was cheap and it kinda worked because back then the inegrated i gpu's sucked b/ut now there kinda useless except if you use them again for the same usage and the 2g came out because people begin to game on nvidia just used it for there advantage to make more money even if it made no sence really
Why didn't you use 2gb version of gt 710
Compare 2gb vram version of gt 710, you compared hd630 with 1gb 710 ver. Just to compliment your short!!!
Im guessing the i845G is still on peoples minds. That thing is truely miserable! Give me an xpress 200 chipset anyday!
Modern intel igpus are actually pretty good.

What is your opinion about buying mining cards? Like Rx 580 for 100 dollars?
@iceberg tech
Depends how averse you are to risk. I wouldn’t blame anyone for steering clear of mining cards, but I buy them all the time. Had one or two DOA, but that’s why I buy from reputable places with warranties where possible!
Although It probably wouldn't affect your results, you update all the drivers first!
GT 710s are Kepler based (at best), so the latest drivers for them are now rather old.
bruv even the gtx 10 series are no longer supported so what makes you think the gt 710 would be...
System memory resources and using DDR4 is a significant disadvantage for integrated graphics across the broad spectrum of things. Also if you want dual monitors the 710 still has a purpose, just not at its price.
dual monitors with GT710 haha sure
Please make gt 210 (1gb DDR3) vs hd 630 (i3 7100) please I'd make my day please
Low end hardware review? Hell yeah, count me in!
Here's an interesting thought, how about going full minimum on these graphics devices amd see at what resolution these achieve something that would pass as playable?
Like, trying running any game with as low of a custom resolution as possible while maintaining visual readiability (think from 270p to 576p).
A quick fix at best? Yes. Visually interesting? Absolutely.
I figure problem would be testing gpus then... lower the detail and especially resolution, less utilized the gpu is... It would be a better method to compare cpus that way
@@Zvon-zb4nt Yeah, but it's a good way to test the upper limits of an intel iGPU and old Low-entry level Cards like the GT710, at least in terms of current day gaming and video rendering performance.
Like comparing rendering times between a GT 1030 and an iGPU, with how high the export resolution can be before it slows down heavily. Or testing what exact effects in games contribute to better framerates and frame times.
Some things never change. On my 486 DX2/66 PC, I had to reduce the window size to play the original DOOM, otherwise it would become a slideshow on the later levels. Quake wouldn't run on it... it used a software renderer and was limited by the CPU and RAM. I got a new PC, and then a 3D graphics card, but new games brought that to it's knees, so I ran everything on their lowest settings, until I could afford something better. And 30 years later it's still the same. 😁
HD630 can play all PS4 and below era tittle above 30FPS, even Witcher 3 is playable if you're willing to play in 800x600 low settings. And it's probably the reason why they're stopping the driver support for the GTX 500-700era cards, because those cards will play all tittles today and probably even the PS6 era tittles in low setting with low resolution. The 1080ti cards will probably last forever until it breaks or they stop driver support for it too.
I wonder if those people who said you were lying about the 710 being so bad were the same ones selling those 710 "gaming" PCs LMAO
But i think with the GPU we can have multiple video outputs many monitor display's at ones (useful for traders etc.) that is not possible with hd 630

he's done that, about same or worse results because the games tested at those settings don't need much VRAM and the 2GB version has DDR3 instead of GDDR5
@@itsTyrion their actual is a version with 2gb ddr5 ram
it's pretty crazy how these tiny chips can perform so good tbh pcs should also come with igpus like laptops so they can draw less power when not gaming or not doing any heavy task but im pretty sure there will be issues like how laptops have optimus but i don't know i've never seen a pc with intergrated graphics so cool ig but still can't believe intel uhd graphics perform so well for just tiny chips on the cpu at this point 2050 will have igpus that will be as strong as a gtx 1660ti
Many PCs have integrated graphics? My PC has them, since I've got an i7-9700k. The problem is that you can't have integrated graphics running at the same time as a dedicated GPU, as to use a dedicated GPU, you plug the monitor cables into the GPU, not into the motherboard. Dedicated GPUs draw like 10 Watts of power on idle anyway, so it wouldn't actually do anything.

The only thing the GT 710 is good for is fire wood or something for a video output on a make shift server. Just for video output. Snd only of it's being sold for 5/10 dollars. Honestly i used a gt 730 back in the day just because it was laying around. An AMD 8150 with that card makes a nice space heater along with a cheap PvPGN server for Starcraft BWs, Warcraft 3 TFT and of course Diablo 2. Or web hosting.
Intel Iris Xe is probably the "best Intel iGPU". I have it on my laptop and it gets the job done I want it to do most of the time.
Iris Xe is a needed upgrade over UHD, it runs pretty well, and usually comes with some pretty powerful CPUs so no issues with running some light games and doing some slightly more intensive tasks than what CPUs from 2017 could do.

@@Fernando-Rodriguez The 745 is overpriced and underperforms, it isn't as good as a 750 ti/1030 nor it is in-between the 650 and 750 and sells more then the 750 does. Which makes it in my opinion way too overpriced for what it is.
@@benchmarkerlovesgaming140 the price depends on if its sellers' or buyers' market but it's still better than a new GT 710
i am happy that i have a Ryzen 5 5600g with Vega 7
@Scarlet Dani yo i have a small problem, i am using a 300W supply and a mixture of ram, both are 8gb each and one has 3200mhz and one has 2666mhz, and i cant reach the frame rates that i see in benchmarks of ryzen 5 5600g what is the major problem for the frames ????
@@nadir4562 maybe the ram is not running in dual channel, try checking it using cpu-z
@@CaelVK my mob has only 2 channels and they are both filled
@@nadir4562 If you mix RAM like that it won't run at full frequency. The 3200 stick will run at 2666, and the CAS will be higher (which is bad)
I recommend buying another stick with the same speed and CAS, or just buy another kit. That or buy a new graphics card.
@@cheese5462 my friend offered me a gaming ram kit called ''Notac Shadow II non rgb 8x2 GB 3600mhz, that should fix the problem right
You have high-end GT 710 GPU and are complaining? I'm running an NVS 290!!
WTF is Nvidia doing still producing this utterly appalling GPU? I'm still running a Q2 2014 GT640 which apparently is 110% faster than a Q1 2015 GT710. Even being over twice as fast its still utterly crap.
It’s for extra display outputs and for office PCs
My brother wanted to buy a GT 710. I made him get a much stronger (and newer with a longer driver support and better featureset) GT 1030 instead. Still not a great gaming card but at least it's matching or beating the older GTX 460 with more VRAM and a much lower power consumption. So you can actually game on the 1030 with not too high expectations and older games like Starcraft II or Diablo III.
This could go either way depending on the choice of GT 710 (GDDR5 or DDR3) and iGPUs. Modern iGPUs especially those on Ryzen 6000 are just a lot better and various new Intel iGPUs too.
RDNA graphics inside those processors is Better than gt1030 and even 1630
It cant, that is a gddr5 710.
Would be fun to compare it against Intel Xe DG1, so everyone shut up about crappy Intel iGPUs
Where is the 5600g comparison ?
Yes, yes it is.
Try a 3000G as a benchmark.
Athlon 240G here.. The 3 Vega GPU cores are about the performance of a GT 730 ddr5 version. (had one/Sold it) I ended up with a GT 1030 GPU upgrade to double frames in games. Of course all this is A mute point?, Since Nvidia driver support on Kepler cards has been taken away. I personally liked the GT 730 2g DDR5 I had and should of kept it. Cheers!
Thank you for putting yourself through the pain of that testing lol
GT 710 2gb vs HD 630
Uhd 630 has the same power as gt 630. Coincidence???
i bought that card once when i had first gen core i3 530 cpu it didnt had any integrated graphic so that time it was pretty good for my potato gaming pc but when i upgraded my pc to a 6 gen that when i realized just how bad that graphic card really is
you would have been the first person who have a cpu bottleneck with gt 710
