    At the time, Zhang Jike also paid a fine of $45,000 for kicking billboards.

    • @killing7549
      @killing7549 15 днів тому +6

      It was not a fine, but that Zhang Jike offered to refund the 45,000 prize money for the competition and then publicly apologized. As the youngest Grand Slam player in history, he was the star of his era. The ITTF officials at the time were so appreciative that they did not punish him or ban him, and the shards he kicked are still hanging in the ITTF marketing director Matthew Bond's office.😂

      @@bruce3906not that simple. Look at many of the great european players through the times. Many of these are very hot-headed guys. Unlike in china you have to have some kind of driving force to become a top player. And anger/not accepting defeat can be a very good driving force, but of cause, yes, you need to control it. But pls don't be so ignorant about it.

    The kid is young, sure. But he is a professional player and shares the same stage as peers with other professional players. He should hence face the consequences as one regardless of his age. Also, it would be ok if he was 14-15 years old but at 18 years old, a age where most countries consider you a functional adult in society is unacceptable.

      @sebastianruizrivera6896 9 днів тому +1

      Not totally useless. Red card may imply disqulification either of only the match, the event, or the whole competition. Disqualifying only from the match after the end of it would indeed be basically useless. However, he was disqualified from the men's singles event, meaning that he doesn't only lose the match, but loses any ranking point linked to that event (as if he hadn't played the men's singles at all). I believe this makes the card relevant. He also has to pay compensation for the broken screen.

    Felix has attracted too much admiration too quickly, something like a great white hope. He's one of the new kids on the block, and needs to make it to at least his early 20's before he's proved himself. What happens if and when other players figure out his weak points, which may be already happening. I think he also just lost in Frankfurt. Harimoto won his first major at 13, later other players gradually got to know his game. Now he's one of the greatest, but not what people predicted. Mattenot was another one a dozen years ago; he never fulfilled what "experts" were predicting.

Le carton est néanmoins mérité , rien à dire. L'erreur est humaine et surtout à cet age. Le principal est qu'il n'a pas jeté sur une personne et je pense que de toute manière il ne l'aurait pas fait. I'm pretty sure in sports it's normal to have emotional outbursts, disqualification is when a player breaches the code of conducts, but I don't really see a big problem here besides breaking the ad screen which isn't much to be disqualified for. Unless however he had racket abuse and other code violations, but I think otherwise it's unfair to disqualify a player purely on their emotions alone without great disruption of the code of conduct.

Unfair. MEINER MEINUNG NACH. Was andere denken. Vor allem Franzosen... Mir egal.
      Je vais me désabonner...

    この愚かな行為は器物損壊だけでなくラケットを大切に扱わないスポーツマンシップに欠ける行為。
    残念ながら強い選手かもしれないが選手として最低な最悪な行為、二度と見たくない行為。

    This is why i don't care for Felix, his brother, Ruwen Filus and others that throw their paddles...such bad and disgusting behavior. It truly sets a bad example for others, especially kids. There is absolutely NO reason for childish behavior like this. We.all get angry, sure....handle it like grown adults...not like spoiled children....PERIOD!!

      Until a paddle hits a kid and blinds them, then ITTF will stand around doing nothing and by then it will be too late. They should impose a 12 month ban, period!

    Dont forget he's young, and we do some stupid things when we are young. This video is too long to explain this mistake, no one deserves it.

    • @eclipse1161
      @eclipse1161 18 днів тому +3

      Yes he is young but 18yo is too old for someone to throw tantrums in a public stage. Don’t forget that he is a professional player and hence should face consequences as one.

      @eclipse1161 I dont forget he s a professional ans I dont justify his failure there. I just mean we can Do some mistakes under pressure sometimes, and I think he did learn the lesson. Remember what I m going to say : I can bet what you want that he ll never throw his racket again

      Your comment proved the degenerate of people in nowadays society. Him being young is not an excuse. I was his age and lost tough games in badminton tournaments too. I never behaved like him and we didn't see young players in the past often do that. Social media nowadays is defending them too much and made them reckless the self control disregarding the consequence. That kind of thinking is what made things get worse and worse.

      BS....We all were that young, but that is NO excuse. I didn't do stupid crap like this. There's no excuse and you condoning it is only making it worse. Hold these athletes accountable....PERIOD!!

      Roger Federer was like that at this age....he finally became a true gentleman on court...so it makes no sense to allready think Felix will not be able to change his behaviour.
      He is a fenomenal player and shows his love for the game in a positive manner most of the time...lets not be so harsh on this guy

    • @hkvrr
