BUTTER DANCE: Mazda MX-5 x2 on a WET Nürburging Nordschleife

One of the last laps of the 2021 season at the Nürburgring turned out to be a dance in a super slippery Nordschleife... basically like stepping on butter. Enjoy watching two freaks laughing and snapping while vibing to their favourites tunes.

I drive a gun metal grey 2014 MX 5 NC. A ten second car. It came out of the box race ready with Le Mans paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Every time I drive it I'm in a James Bond movie. When people see it they ask, 'does it have machine guns behind the fog lights?' The license plate reads 009. It's definitely licensed to kill. Does a 'Tokyo drift' nicely.

I found this happening all the time it rained on the stock yoko advan sports tyres, so changes to bridgestone weather control for winter and it went away. Less fuel economy but it didn't lose any speed.

Miatas are the worst in the wet, but in the dry they are the best.

That wasn't my experience in the wet. I had a 300bhp NC on Ohlins and Michelin Pilot sports. The car had loads of grip on a soaking wet track, leaning into the corners despite the stiffened suspension.
