I've never actually seen a Celeste Speedrun, but this happened to end up on my timeline so I checked it out and I'm completely blown away. This was amazing and I can tell how important it was, to everyone and to you. Congratulations on the run!

This is the first Celeste speedrun I've watched. I was ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY when you grabbed the Casette for Mirror Temple then proceded to exit and do the B-Side since it's faster. When I saw you go for the Casette I was confused for a second. What even?!

Inspiration is exactly the right word. Isaac's streams are what ultimately compelled me to go back to finish the B-sides and start speedrunning the game.
I'm sitting at a 52 minute time I've barely started Speedrunning for the first time in general and watching this I've never thought to myself "Holy shit you can do that?" So many times

Not yet. Still working on it. There are a couple difficult screens that I can't consistently get, but for the most part, I have about a 95% success rate on every other room, so I feel like it's getting close to having some deep runs
spikes only kill you if youre moving into the pointy bit, but not if youre moving into them from behind. these spikes are pointing left, so as long as youre moving left you can touch it without any problem. with precise positioning, you can walljump off the wall the spikes are in while moving left to gain a bit of height, which is exactly what isaac is doing there. the extra height allows you to get all the way up with an up dash, skipping the platforms on the left and completing the room faster
@@paulamarina04 wait what? thank you for the explanation but how do you move into them from behind? how do you move left while going right (into the spikes) to keep against the wall? by toggling quickly between left and right? even still that seems nuts given that for my entire playthrough so far, just barely touching them triggered damage
@@TheeStoicc you see, you dont actually need to move right in order to walljump off the wall. in order to walljump off a wall, the only requirement is that youre close enough to it (not necessarily *right next* to it, theres a bit of leniency). the "precise positioning" i was talking about involved getting into this walljumping spot while moving left, which is archieved by moving diagonally up from below the wall. the end result looks like if madeline was walljumping with the back of her head
What the fuck. I remember when sub 28 minutes seemed like a massive barrier. A whole two minutes faster just blows my mind. This is faster than even somewhat recent TASes.

I just finished Celeste myself. I was curious how fast speedrunners can finish this. I mean, how much faster can they possibly go? ... Damn I don't even know what buttons to press to move like this guy. It's insane, you're on another level. Absolutely insane. Seeing that spikes are sometimes optional, and you can also walk/hold on them and jump off of them is really something. Also you skipping absolutely everything because you can jump from one end of the screen to the other is um yeah.
We can never understand or underrate the GRIND that you went through for this. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been, and what a relief it surely was when the grind was finally, unbelievably, over. Congratulations, Isaac. You have made a monumental difference in celeste any percent forever. I'm sure we will get lower 25s, but I don't think a 24 is humanly possible. Perhaps eventually, or with new strats, but I think you have gotten the category WAY CLOSER to being dead. Well done.
