Great video. I was debating doing this on my black RAV4H, and then somebody swung their door into mine (just barely, thankfully.) The small mark is at the perfect height for these, so I'll just make sure that it gets covered when I put them on.
Ive owned a grand cherokee and a ford escape both with dinged doors, I hope they help my doors stay intact. As far as looks, in a perfect world I wouldn't wanna put these on, however given the nature of the rav4s rugged/square look I think they dont look bad, as opposed to putting them on something like the venza for example
got very similar trims from aliexpress on my rav4 hyb. After 1 year and many car washes they are still like brand new :) They look great, but the actual protection function is questionable. I got selection variant - white with black roof/wheels and the trims are also black.
I wonder how this product compares size-wise to the factory supplied version? I have this suspicion that the factory version may be wider. You also didn't explain how you determined the correct place to install. Was it height above ground or maybe height from the bottom of the car... Perhaps they're both the same? Clearly it doesn't go wheel well top to wheel well top.
You are right, the OEM part has slightly different design. And is also almost 5 times more expensive. Placement is a subject of owner's esthetic preferences. We installed the trim parallel to the top of the door frame.
Am I the only one that thinks side moldings are so 2005? I understand the function they provide but they don’t always protect your car against scratches or dings in a parking lot. A shopping cart in a windy day is most likely going to Impact your car from the back or the front more often than the sides…. and if parking space is too close, You might want to consider NOT parking there… I mean, there’s a reason why more luxurious cars don’t come with such an accessory. If you care about your car’s look… You might want to take some preventive measures without the aid of these moldings in the first place (which would probably result in a higher protection overtime statistically if you simply don’t park close to other cars or Places with small parking spaces. I absolutely do not like the look of the side moldings. I much rather figure some other ways to protect the paint using maybe a transparent paint wrap and avoiding tight places
Hi Stacy, I like the "clean look" too but no matter how many measures taken to minimize the risk, eventually, some Duffus will hit your doors. Over my 30+ years of driving, I wish I had a dollar for how many times, I'd park far from the store and as far away from adjacent cars only to find on return that someone parked "close" anyway. Even when no close, fully opened rear doors are often quite wide. So although I'm under no illusion the BSM will prevent all damages, I'm reasonably confident that it will absorb at least some impacts. Door dings are uniquely costly since the owner will most likely not know who did the damage. Equally frustrating is that even if money is no object to a repair, proper AB repairs necessitate the total paint stripping and repainting; how many times would you do this to your "new" car? NO FLAME INTENDED!

I'm worried carwash will mess them up.

Smart accessory. Thanks for posting.

how about Toyota door edge protectors, great vid. thanks
Hi, do you have any idea how to decrease a wind noice while on a high speed ? Looks it’s a common issue for all RAV4. Thank you.

Is there an installation procedure in the package from CarTrim? If none, how did you determine the exact placement of yours? Looks perfect spot. Tnx
No, there is no installation guide. We installed the trim parallel to the top of the door frames.
What is the distance from the top of the door panels?
@@tobertzekram6937 It's completely up to you. In our case, it is roughly in line with the top of the rear wheel arch trim.
Im ordering one from amazon, worth it to do if on a lexus? Or it doesnt matter? Lexus has one for 255 but the amazon is 50. Theyre black like my car
I notice there is a color selection for Blue. I wonder which blue it is? There are two blue colors for the new RAV4s
I think they mean the Blue Flame color, not the Blueprint. You can try asking Cartrimhome support: service@cartrimhome.com.
When you wanna take those off does adhesive tape mess up the paint ? I wonder
It should not mess the paint.
Will going into a drive thru carwash affect them if you wash it often?
No, it won't.
How can I measure to put the molding is correct?
Hi, We installed the trim parallel to the top of the door frame.
Супер! Тоже хочу себе поставить. По ссылке есть чёрный вариант. Почему у вас белый? По цене качество должно быть хорошее.
Белый по ошибке заказали. Качество хорошее.

I feel like the tape on this is gonna make it fall off on a really hot summer day. I know they sell magnetic ones out there too.

@@MorozovAutomotive are factory ones also just double side taped on?
@@zachodi6618 Yes, they are.
