I love your videos, kindly help me, i use godox 860vii with a7riv and found that hot shoe of a7r4 is tight for godox socket and takes a bit of a push to insert the godox flash on the hot shoe. Do u face the issue too?
The modeling light's best use is to illuminate the subject so that you can see how the light is lighting the subject. It makes adjusting your lighting a lot easier..
Thank you so much for the feedback! We were hoping that a quick tip breakdown format would help those who are already familiar the product 🙌Glad it helps!
Did you know that the catchlight actually refers to the light source being reflected in the eyes. You talked about the catchlight casting a wonderful circlular pattern on the wall, but no mention of the eyes. I wasn't sure if you understood what a catch light actually is. Otherwise this was a very helpful video. I'm not trying to be hurtful. I'm trying to be helpful. We all have alot to learn.
You guys! Love your videos! A quick questions which flash do you recommend between the godox v1 or the godox v860III Hellllpppo I can’t decide which one to invest in
Great video! I have an E5 Error on my new V1 flash with a continuous beeping sound and it says please contact the after sales service! I think I maybe messed up a firmware upgrade using G3 but reinstalled the Bin file a few more times anyway but still no luck! is there anyway to fix this like an older update somewhere or do I need to replace it from B&H which is no problem at all? Thanks
Thanks for this video. do u have an actual tutorial on how to use the v1 with the pro trigger, I set both channels to match did everything. but still not syncing. And when I put the pro trigger on my Sony camera, It tells me device isn't compatible. I'm a bit confused. Thank u
Hit reset on both the V1 and your trigger to set to factory default settings. That should automatically revert you back to Channel 1, Group A and they should pair. Apart from that check on your camera model to see if it supports third-party triggers/flashes. Some newer model cameras such as the Canon 1100D lock the use of third-party devices once you've updated the firmware. Let's hope that's not the case for your camera.
Hey there, you'll need to use an XPro. Nikon CLS only works with Nikon branded flashes, this is the same with other brands like Canon as well. They have their own encoding with their wireless system which isn't cross compatible with other brands.
Nice tips, Hypop! I'm thinking of acquiring the Flashpoint Zoom Li-on R2 TTL On-Camera Round Flash Speedlight, and was wondering if the same Wireless Flash Trigger for that flash will also work with my existing Godox AD200 Studio Strobe? Thank you!
Hi Steve, I think the Flashpoint R2 is the same as the Godox V860II so the flash triggers that talk to the R2 will also work with the Godox AD200 (Godox X triggers - X1, X2 and XPro)
this is pretty pricey stuff, if you're just hobby photographer - pay attention to Godox tt350/v350 series (tt works with batteries (rechargeable as well), while v uses only rechargeable).
If you've read the product brochure, you can skip this video: he's just reading Godox's marketing material aloud. There are no "Tips and Tricks." Hypop tell us the round head produces "more softer [sic]" light (I don't understand UA-camrs' fetish for appending "more" to a superlative: more bigger, more heavier, etc.). They use portraits lit with an octabox to demonstrate the "round catchlight" supposedly produced by the V1: octaboxes, of course, produce round catchlights (and we're only to assume the V1 is the light source, since it's never shown). I just watched another review of the V1 in which the reviewer compared a wildly overexposed image lit with a traditional flash to a properly exposed one lit with the V1 to "prove" the superior quality of the light from the round head. The Shill is strong in this one!
I lost charger and not getting one due to covid. Can the flash be charged using the usb port. I tried, not happening. Is there a work around to charge the battery.
Thanks for the video. Question please. When I rotate the bezel wheel, the round plate that says zoom and mode also moves a little. In other words, it's a bit loose. Do your Godox V1 flashes also have this looseness?
Hey there! We produced this video 3 years ago when the V1 was just released and relatively unknown. We wanted to show our viewers some of the features as they were new and uncommon in other flash units at the time :)
Your assumption is correct about the modeling light , the V1 Flash has a focus assist light built in, the statement made in the presentation concerning it is a focus assist in low light is incorrect, everyone can make a mistake now and then. For off camera shooting the V1 Pro trigger has a focus assist light built into the trigger which you can switch on if you require it.
Both are definitely correct. Sometimes the flash doesn't identify that it's dark enough to prompt the built-in AF assist beam so the modeling light is great to use as a backup.
I love your videos, kindly help me, i use godox 860vii with a7riv and found that hot shoe of a7r4 is tight for godox socket and takes a bit of a push to insert the godox flash on the hot shoe. Do u face the issue too?
Hey there! We don't have an A7RIV to test this on so we can't compare exactly with that one, however with the A7III, A7RII and A6400 we haven't experienced any fitment issues using the V860II.
To me, there were all known facts only. No additional infomation to the standard advertising. Please to not use the light with the changing colors any more in the background. To me it is ugly.
We'd only like to present facts :) Some people prefer a visual demonstration on how the flash and accessories work. Thanks for your feedback on the changing colour LED light in the background.
It’s a good flash but it’s a pain in the ass! The dial is way too easy to turn or press. Just bringing the camera to your eye can bump the dial on your forehead and change the mode and walking around with it attached to a camera on a strap with change the power. Did a wedding at the weekend with it and had to adjust it back to the settings I want all the time. Very poor design.
Not sure what you mean about misinformation? A round catchlight is always softer than a square catch light due to the more aesthetic light drop off. On top of that, when using with a bracket such as the Godox S2 and S-Type bracket you can use softboxes and modifiers to soften the light even further. Shooting on camera? Use the Godox AK-R1 lighting modifiers :)

Thank you for that! I have a V1 and love it! Just learning flash so all the hints I can get are much appreciated!
I have 2 V1's. Great Flashes. Powerful, lovely light and powerful. Battery lasts a long time too compared to AA powered Flashes.
The modeling light's best use is to illuminate the subject so that you can see how the light is lighting the subject. It makes adjusting your lighting a lot easier..
It also de-dilates the pupils!
Can you change the temperature, it's orangy
Please do another video on the Godox v1 and trigger set up and HSS. Thank you!

maraming salamat po!!! MABUHAY!!!
FUCKING GENIUS OF A FLASH. HAS BETTER LIGHT PATTERN THAN PROFOTOs VERSION
awesome presentation ... i was undecided whether to go from the olympus speedlight to the Godox V1 .. definitely buying the V1 now . :)
This is great. Waiting on my V1 to arrive in a couple days. Glad I made this call over the AD 100 .
Good choice!
what stands are you using. i love the compact size. thanks so much for making a video about this flash. i was very curious about it
Just got my Godox V1 today. Can’t wait to start using it. Great video, thanks for sharing! 👍

Very informative. Thank you

best reviews!!!
Very nice video, i got already one, just i don't understand how to use it without to be attached on the camera.
You'll need another Godox X device to trigger it off camera. This can be one of their triggers such as the XPro or X2T.
@@hypop Thank you very much, i already ordered X2T
what stands are those? I'm looking for a compact travel stand
Can a godoxv1c speed light be used for a Nikon camera ? Please help out
Hi what is that light stand you have the flash mounted on please
Hi! Do you happen to know how to keep the modelling light on for the whole duration of shoot? Mine keeps switching off after less than a minute

Hey, is there still a way to power the latest speedlights with external power like PB960? I'm curious about V1 and the V860 Mark III

I deadass thought that the flash was on a gimbal om the first frame 💀😭😩🤞
Thanks for this video 👌👌👌
I'm new in photography and I'm using canon D2000 is it possible for me to use this speedlite???
Yes, look to purchase the V1-C which is the Canon version of this flash.
Lumix g85 with v1 is great idea or not for event 🔥 plz gave an answer

"The round head produces better catch lights." Proceeds to show a bunch of photos with the flash in a softbox.
Thank you for the info question does the godox V 1 suports the speed sync of the nikon Z6. ? thank you.
I heard the power output is the exact same as the 860ii

how to know the v1 battery is fully charged i see only one led indicator neither it blinks nor it has any level indicator
great! Where is the link to the S type bracket?
We only have a review of the S2 bracket which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/ZiLWlTMsZd4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Hypop
Informative video but that changing coloured light behind you is totally unnecessary and distracting.

I can't use canon 80d with godox v1 flash on manual mode, please give me any suggestions.

Yep
Can hss on camera body without trigger?
Yes, you can use HSS on-camera also.
Great
Thank you so much!
Autofocus beam assist ?
wow nice
Thank you! Cheers!
this is pretty pricey stuff, if you're just hobby photographer - pay attention to Godox tt350/v350 series (tt works with batteries (rechargeable as well), while v uses only rechargeable).
It's definitely more expensive than the smaller flash range but you have more output and the magnetic mounting system for the AK-R1 for modifiers
anyone know if there's a built in AF-Assist beam on the Godox V1-S? or is there any setting to turn it on??
The only thing the modeling lamp is good for is light people during receptions for cell phone photo.

So u suggest the square 860 iii
Because I am debating either and couldn't find concrete comparisons
Will u guys have a sale on the Ronin SC pro?
Can you please compare Godox V1 vs Godox AD100pro.

I have anE5 error code where can i get it fixed?
Godox v1 autofocus assist beam isn't working on nikon z6II... Any idea???
doesn't work on my sony a7iii and sony a7riii either. don't think it works at all to be honest. wtf
I lost charger and not getting one due to covid. Can the flash be charged using the usb port. I tried, not happening. Is there a work around to charge the battery.
The USB port is for firmware updates only, not a charge port. Unfortunately only the provided AC charger or the Godox VC26 USB Charger.
hi, just bought Godox V1 for my Nikon d850, but i find dificulty to connect , can you help please, i have also X2t
I can slave my V1 flash with my TT520ii flash. I av X2t
But too weak light even at full power, and nfluj not sending enough red lights to focus at night
Can an external battery pack be used with this flash ?
No, external battery packs such as the Godox PB820 and PB960, for example, are not compatible with the Godox V1 as they feature a lithium-ion battery.
Which small tripod is that? Do u have a link? Thanks @hypop
This is a Spectrum's 43cm Mini Light Stand Desk Tripod! You can find and purchase it here on our website: bit.ly/3gy1Wer
hi bro all the buttons on the v1 are not working do you have a solution for that? thanks
Could be an actual faulty with the flash. Otherwise try factory resetting the flash.
Is it possible to connect the flashlight directly to a power source without using the battery?
Thanks for the video. Question please. When I rotate the bezel wheel, the round plate that says zoom and mode also moves a little. In other words, it's a bit loose. Do your Godox V1 flashes also have this looseness?
Casey415 mine does as well, it’s common
So you just read the product page? Why even producing that video? But it seems lots of people don't read... I don't get it
Hey there! We produced this video 3 years ago when the V1 was just released and relatively unknown. We wanted to show our viewers some of the features as they were new and uncommon in other flash units at the time :)
I always assumed the modeling light was to see where the shadows fell, not for finding focus.
Your assumption is correct about the modeling light , the V1 Flash has a focus assist light built in, the statement made in the presentation concerning it is a focus assist in low light is incorrect, everyone can make a mistake now and then. You can lock the settings so that doesn't happen.
As Nathan said it has a function lock.
I wouldn’t say the flash design is poor, it’s just a poor fit for your model camera.
Hypop (Y)
Whats with the light behind you? Makes me want to vomit.
Hope you're ok?
The light is really bad. I appreciate the video, thanks, but honestly you need to lose the light.
Stop the misinformation. This does not give you a softer image. It is still a tiny light source so that is impossible.
