The beauty of the armor, the density of the city, the stealth gameplay, the parkour, the immersion - everything about those games were so good.

AC 2 was perfect. The character, the story, the soundtrack, the citys, the era. This game belongs to my top 3 for ever
Yeh first 4 games truly captured the pure assassin experience and now we have almost empty open worlds with main stories that are 50+ hrs long. With all that they still can't match the simplicity and complexity of the first 4 games.
I often re-install the game just to walk those streets and regain that atmosphere. Because every time I listen to that music, I walk among the people and listen to the cries of the vendors, I feel something very special. It's like those places belong to me.
That's the beauty of this game

Yes....Old AC games are great
That's because they do belong to you. They are your memories, embedded forever in your mind, and no matter if this game has been played by a million other people, that one journey you took through this game has left a mark in your timeline, and it will always be there, for you. This will always have a special place in our minds and hearts, because we each took a personal journey through this, which makes it priceless in our minds. Memories aren't just about remembering, but also recollecting how we felt in those moments. A great time, a great place, and it will live on forever in our hearts.
Its crazy how Assassin's creed improved from AC1 to AC2
@cuk Well i wouldnt be so harsh to it, it was an old game and itt didnt age well but it was an interesting concept and it had very unique gameplay, very repetitive tho

@cuk It was very good for its' time. The narrative and the philosophical discussions still hold up to this day.

@@Oskar_464 actually yes it was repetitive but, it was the beginning of the PS3 gen, that means we went from PS2 to PS3 and Assassin’s creed was one of the few games coming first on the console. And before, we didn’t play to improve gameplay along the game but to discovers a new landscape every time we launch the game. Of course, if we compare to other games coming after 2010 this one was repetitive but in the story and in the world, it wasn’t repetitive at all. Even today I take pleasure playing this game and I’m glad of Assassin’s creed 2 and it’s following but the one is also in the legend.
It’s 8th grade. I can’t sleep. Around 1 am, I finally give up, pulling myself out of bed while firing up my Xbox 360. I load my save on AC2
I roam the streets of Firenze, still hearing this soundtrack despite my TV’s super low volume. The moon shines through my window… The high pitched, melancholic… and almost angelic voice forces me to put my controller down. I sit there and gaze at the virtual city in awe, bewildered at how beautiful this world can be.
The only thing I wish for now, in the present, is to truly know the good times… while I’m still in them.

Genuinely think AC2 might be the greatest game of all time. The story, the characters both heroes and villains, the graphics, the soundtrack. Nothing comes close imo, Ubisoft did a truly amazing job

I agree. In my opinion, of all the Assassin's Creed games, this one is still the best and by far my favorite. Bc of Ezio, how charming, handsome, and badass he is, and also bc of the music, the graphics, the different kinds of armor, weapons and art you can collect for Monteriggioni, the voice acting is well done...plus, the Italian Renaissance is still my favorite era of art history! It's a win-win all around for me!
Something about AC2 just can't be topped, Valhalla came close and I really enjoyed the other Ezio games but 2 just feels so good in an unexplainable way.

The true is altair the second is ezio. The other are not true assassins (conner, edward etc)

@@Sanyok1900 Deadass around the time you would’ve commented that, I replayed my favorite AC’s (2, Brotherhood, 3), then played Black Flag, Rogue and Unity and ugh it was so magical. Unity kinda killed it for me, even tho it was good I just couldn’t find enough time to finish it and ended up dropping it mid way through. Still tho playing 2 and Brotherhood again was incredible, and I found myself absolutely loving Rogue. Nothing beats the oldies tho, they’ll never make em like they used to. And to add Ezio is the best Assassin hands down. Altair was cool but we didn’t get to see him grow up, Connor was too reckless and hateful for me to get into him and all the others just couldn’t hold a candle to the man from Florence. Sorry for rambling tho but i’m an Ezio slut for him and his trilogy.

how i miss the days when AC is all about stealth kill rather than fighting
It's called 'Assassin's' Creed for a reason but i guess they forgot that.
When you used to wanted to avoid the fights because stealth was always the better option while planning your attack. It was better that way.
Stealth in Unity/Syndicate/Valhalla is better than the old games in my opinion tho, now there is a crouch button for example. I put valhalla there because there is instant kill through assassination, unlike odyssey......
@@MikeVestering biggest issue with unity stealth was lack of body moving. Way more immersive when I’m trying to be stealthy and can move the bodies. It was a bizarre omission.

Back when ubisoft knew how to use ambient music correctly, nowdays I barely hear any music in recent AC...
I love this city. First video game location I fell in love with. I replay the game every year and boot up Florence at least once a month. I love this from the bottom of my soul.
I love how the daytime changes in this game and the fact that the sun and the shadows move. Dats good attention to detail man

This makes me wanna cry just because i played this since i was six years old and I’m fourteen now soon fifteen still i always get suprised how good the game is
I played this around 2011 when Brotherhood just came out then in 2012 with the last of the Ezio story in Revelations. Time goes by so fast. I remember when they first came out and I was blown away with the multiplayer, it was like nothing anyone has seen before.

@@GaMerAC5 When I was younger maybe 9, the first AC I played was the first one. It's so dated and bare bones but they really improved with the second one.

Home in Florence gives me a very good and sad feeling of longing and nostalgia...
this is really great. It has the calm and magical allure that the renaissance era was known for, whilst also giving off a sinister element, even uncertainty in some of the strings. Perfect for the renaissance era and all its intrigue, really.

I literally started playing this because lockdown was really getting to me and I'd just about finished/caught up with all my books, dramas, and mangas. Since I started in April, I've played AC2 at least four times already and I regret nothing.
I love how everyone is like "oh, my childhood" and there's me, who first played it at 27 yo, as a mother of two. *sobs*

Oh Assassin's Creed 2, this game will leave a spot in my heart from when I was 6 sitting next to my brother playing games. I always sat next to him and watched. Now I'm obviously older and I play video games myself, it never feels the same.

Best game ever, so much teaching and philosophy
It's Saturday morning, the coffee's brewing and my moms making breakfast, I boot up my PS3 and put in the disc "Assasains Creed II" I parkour over rooftops and fight daring foes. And then breakfast is ready, I pause the game and munch on some eggs and bacon. No worries in the world except for if I can defeat this enemy or not. Life is good, Life was good.

i agree a lot with both of you guys, i really miss when the game had fun and mechanics that where not broken, and even characters like Haytham, Charles Lee, Ezzio, dear god characters with such deep development
@@ruanrodrigues9187 the setting was also pretty well thought out. You have defined sections and none of the abstract bullshit. You had familial bonds, friendships, villiany and then character-presence (like Ezio being the prophet and Borgia knows his presence). Just damn brilliant story telling. Apple of Eden meant something back then. Now, it feels like Assassin's are raiding the ISU closet finding spears, blankets, Bullshit stories.

Just got the Ezio collection, can't wait to play again after a decade.
I know that everybody has an own oppinion on that, but for me assassins creed 2 is the best game of the series even now. The story was long and exciting, the gameplay was not boring but fun. The combat system was good and you where still able to join a fight with just your hidden blades. And the flight over venice... awesome!
I love this game and as a fan of history and also the history of art in different cultures and time periods, i too love the rennaissance.
And what else can i say than: "Ezio its' a me Mario!"

I love the assassins creed games( Ezio, The Italian Renaissance ) I have few memories of this game wen I was younger it will always be special for me. Despite this I use this ambient music to help with stress it will always help me out

Thanks to the creators of the first Assassin's Creed games. They really loved what they created. It's a shame that due to Ubisoft's policies they will never return to the series again.

I’ve never ever played assassins creed I bought it second hand for 10 dollars i am only now just beginning this Italian journey of madness and so far its euphoric
The music, the art direction, the sound design. They’re never going to top this one. I think the effort was there when AC3-ACUnity came out but they just don’t try anymore

FLorence's ambience was so much better and more memorable than Rome's imho... it had a different more ominous vibe to it that I know Ubisoft wanted at the time but just didn't hit the feels the way AC2 did.
After these artificial intelligence characters appeared, I started listening to game music with the characters from these games to feel more immersed in the game world, man, what a good feeling! Talking with ezio and stuff and lising this is so good.
Back when Ubisoft had a decent plot with this franchise

If Ubisoft would commit to the same social stealth, I’d like to see Florence, Venice, and Rome remastered. They don’t commit to it in their newer games so sadly I doubt they will get it right. Make another unity, Ubisoft.
