I was playing this game when I was about 15 or 16, my mom used to watch me sometimes because she was interrested in what I was doing when i spent all those ours behind my laptop playing. She knew the story so when I was at the endgame, won the bossfight and then the credits rolled. I put my controller down(played with a xbox 360 controller)and me and my mother both went. Wow, what story and we were just letting it sink in. I keep remembering that this game made us feel the same compassion for a character even though she is not a big fan of video games. Everytime when I am visiting my parents over the weekend and i play this on my laptop while I am reading something my mom always asks, wait isn't this from that game with the ezio guy? I wish the more recent AC games we as memorable as this. to make you thing back to a character just by hearing a few music notes.
+Rick yu, I agree. They are making too many now, insted of that steady 3, 4, 5 year wait between the games, where they really worked on the characters and the story, and the world. I miss that, and yet I still want to play the new games.
Man... this brings back so many memories. The hope this game gave me in the small and dull world that I lived in. It helped me see more from my bedroom window. My snow-covered neighborhood. On the small hill that overlooked the town. I'd blot out the sounds of my parents yelling at each other, the sad memories that had transpired during my days in highschool, or from the countless amount of times that we had moved from city to city... losing friends... from my drunk father, the shameful embarrassment that was my life. That was around the time they got divorced and me and my brother didn't know how to deal with it. I was 16. In school, I got picked on alot for my last name, and the fact that my teeth weren't that great (just crooked was all. It's fixed now and I'm much more confident) and it made my life bad. Made me self-conscious... so I just stopped talking to people. I sat at tables alone alot, haha. I was always alone... at lunch or in study hall. Even felt alone in classrooms because no one would talk to me. Very few people didn't know me because I was kinda quiet... I couldn't wait to get back home though to play this game, and talk about it with the few friends I had. I would draw alot, and if I could play music I would while doing it. I'd get lost in creating art and imagine being on an adventure. That's what I cared about. Being on the adventure... This music was what drove my imagination. It's what helped me get through those dark days. I'm almost 25 now, and I'm glad that part of my life is over. I still think about those things... and I'm glad me, and the people I care about got through them. I don't really see my parents too often, or my old friends... but my imaginations still there. It hasn't aged a day. But even though it's all in the past now... the strongest emotions come from simple things like this soundtrack. Brings a tear to my eye, and fills my heart with nostalgia. Ha, gotta' love the classics.
Being a teen is hard, harder when you have adult problems and no idea how to deal with them. The feeling of shame, trying to hide the things you have no control over as hard as you can, failing, and eventually settling for isolating yourself and hoping no one talks to you (but secretly hoping someone will notice and help you out). Hoping to minimize any pain by removing yourself from social situations that you can't navigate, can't relate to, because the pressure you face, whether at home or at school is too big to ignore, and you're a teen- you're insanely insecure. Thank god for art like this and others. It was an escape, and a reminder that there is mystery and beauty beyond what's in front of us. Particularly this game though :) Teaching me about this era more effectively than my teachers, I gotta say lol. It also still is incredibly beautiful. Your words moved me, my friend.
Don't worry dude, stray strong. Even I am like that. I mean I usually don't talk to anyone in my class. And yes I'm a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series, it has inspired me a lot and changed my life. My favorite AC game is Assassin's Creed the Ezio collection.
The thing about AC 2 is that it was fresh, it was interesting and new. A massive conspiracy/betrayal against the Auditore family, watching your family die and then taking revenge Templar by Templar. The Adam/Eve conspiracy, The assassin tombs, the almost unlimited array of gadgets and a stellar finale. Not only that but this guy spanned 3 games for hells sake, The Ezio trilogy always has been and will be great.
Liam Precious Yes, I fell in love with the plot of Assassins Creed 2 to AC: Revelations, because it felt like a new start to the game, because of the plot lines just as you mentioned!
I find AC2 one the greatest games ever made, ths story is amazing, Ezio is the most Incredibly charismatic character, I just love the guy. Missions well planned and developed, outstanding dialogues, amazing soundtrack, which reminds me of my late night gaming when my wife and son were sleeping and there I was alone in the couch having so much fun with Ezio Auditore.
I sometimes forget that thru the three games you are playing as the same man. Every Ezio is different from the last one. He changes as he matures. Character development is quite well done.
"It is a good life we lead, brother." "The best. May it never change." "And may it never change us." Too bad that life has changed Ubisoft, and we will never see such an amazing and detailed games as before :( AC 2 and Brotherhood still remain one of the best games in game industry and I will never forget this experience from completing them both.
I think, as a future history of art teacher, that I will play this game in front of my class for my course of the architecture of the Renaissance. "So here you have a beautiful example of italian regula... Shit! Guards ! I must hide..."
After reading a looooooot of comments I want to say : brothers from around the world, we are experiencing the same sadness listening to this and also we can close our eyes and remember the first time we played Ezio, when we discovered Venice or Firenze... each step, jump, murder. We will never live something like this but I am gratefull to listen to this now and not being alone to remember. Now i am 36 but this game and this world were the best ever. And I screamed to my tv when I saw Adam and Eve in Kilimandjaro it was so brilliants. Ezio, we miss you, requiscat in pace
ive played 2, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. Twice each. And I havn't finished any of them even once. these games truly are fucking massive, I just can't finish them, it takes forever and I like to do so many side quests and just enjoy myself I try not to rush the main story, yet then I never finish, and I dont pick the game back up to finish it, rather I start over, because I have to get myself back into it again and can't just pick up in the middle of such a vast world.
I love the Ezio trilogy. it really takes me back. I used to think assassins Creed was soooo freaking awesome and I always wished it actually happened and that I could have been there for it and in the thick of it all too.
not only that, but this soundtrack has to be the most well thought out and best fitting one of all the games so far. I just hope the 2017 game will be better than the recent ones with respect syndicate as they picked back up with that one
Some of these songs make me feel like I'm walking through the streets of Venice once again. One day I'm gonna go there again and whilst I'm walking along the canals at night, I'll have these songs playing, and I'll give Ezio a big old salute and smile :)
It'a beautiful city.. I went there before playing the game and when I started to play the game I was like "hey I was here and there"... It was awesome... E master piece between games
+Ioana Crismariu I had a similar experience but in reverse. I had played Brotherhood before going to Rome for the first time and it was amazing recognizing most of the places in the old part of the city from the game.
Dang things changed so fast for this franchise, as in my life. Still miss Ezio to this day. Just like when Ezio's family was murdered in front of the palazzo Della Signoria, and him and his mom/sister never went back to their home, so many permanent changes in people's lives happened since this game. Many injustices, lost loves like Cristina, and family members we will never see again in this life. RIP assassins creed franchise. I will remember you for what you used to be. And what you used to mean to me.
+HeartOfAnAssasin Musically, the best Assassin's Creed soundtrack is from Assassin's Creed III, then Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate's a masterpiece. Now, sentimentally I think this soundtrack is the best, but I just tell you that there are better soundtracks from this game.
it's so sad .. this game is so perfect, it has a real history that you live with it, you feel with it.. best game ever!! i just wanna cry and replay this for ever
I've never given up on Assassin's Creed, even with all its faults. That being said, this is the AC I loved. The days of Ezio and Leonardo, of Bartholomeo and Uncle Mario, of Claudia and Maria... and, most of all, of Desmond. God, I miss those days.
I first played this game in 2011, in the summer before Sophomore year in high school. One of my best friends recommended I try out Assassin's Creed while we were in Summer school together. He'd come home with me after class and play AC with me. I stormed through AC1, loved the game, loved the story, and I loved being Altair. The atmosphere and detail in AC1 was something I had never experienced in a video game before. People shopping and haggling with vendors, the dust kicking up from the ground as you walk, beggars approaching you when you walk through poorer districts, entire mobs of people entering a city carrying baskets of goods and complaining about the heat, town heralds announcing the status of an actual war that took place during that time, the remains of a battle with dead bodies being picked at by vultures outside of a Templar checkpoint, etc. The game was absolutely magical, I felt like I was there. I beat it in like 2 weeks. There was no way a sequel could top this. Then I played Assassin's Creed 2. And to this day, it is still one of my favorite games of all time. For a while, I was between AC2 and AC4/Black Flag being my favorite AC. But now, returning to experience it again the last few days because of the quarantine, I realize my favorite, and quite possibly the best AC game in my opinion, will always be Assassin's Creed 2. It's more than just a game where you play a badass assassin, it's more than a nice looking game with a big open world to explore, it's honestly more than just a video game. This is the game (besides the Metal Gear Solid series) that convinced me videogames are one of the greatest mediums for storytelling. While the game is somewhat outdated in terms of technology, AC2 is eons above and beyond any AC in recent years. Especially Origins and Odyssey in my opinion. AC used to be games centered on a character, following them throughout events in their life that changed the course of history, when there was (I'll say it again) a STORY to tell. It was coherent, it was structured, it was overarching, but even more importantly, it had emotional depth. It wasn't about some guy wearing cool robes that was un-killable, or going around doing mindless chores for everybody, or killing whoever he felt like, or even exploring an extremely vast but empty open world. When a *game* causes you to feel something for a fictional character and world, then it has done its part in successfully conveying a tale to remember. If my own mother who hasn't seen me play this game in years remembers who Ezio is, then there is something right with your game. There are so many things I want to continue talking about, but for now I'll just say this. If you want to experience memorable, rich, and deep storytelling at its finest, play this game. While every game has its faults and shortcomings (depending on what reviewer or critique you prefer), I implore you come up with them yourself.
I used to live in Italy so at one point my parents bought a painting of Florence. I had no clue what the painting was about but it's been hanging in my living room for a long time. One day I walk by it and something catches my eye. I realize that one of the buildings looks like the one from the game. (I know it the game was based on Florence) but I realized how much detail was put into the making of the game because the painting made me remember running around the city as Ezio. The painting was of Florence from a distance so when I saw the building with the dome and the gigantic tower next to it I was so amazed.
The nostalgia. Sitting day in, day out playing this. Getting to know the characters, fighting with them, love with them, getting inspired and see life from their perspective. Ahhh right in the feels! I wish I could go back to times like that! Thank you Ezio for making my childhood better! :')
Earth, Venice rooftops, Ezio's family - 3rd place Dreams of venice, night mission in venice, Tour of venice - 2nd place SANCTUARY! - 1st place Oh jesus... best Assassins creed game ever created with best soundtrack, best figures and memorable characters, best story, best place in history (renaissance), with best country with best cities. In other words... FUCKING MASTERPIECE! The nostalgic soundtrack itself is as good as skyrim.
+Belfor09 Took the words out of my mouth! I was just in another video a minute ago and I was commenting on how Sanctuary is easily one of the most iconic tracks in the game for me. Along with exactly the same choices you put.
Belfor09 I have to say that the OST of AC Revelations is on par with ACII. Especially 'Enough for One Life'. Lorne Balfe and Jesper Kyd are some of the best video game composers of this generation.
Assassin's Creed soundtracks were literally the reason I passed my exams during my degree and masters. Finally graduated. In Mechanical Engineering if you're curious. I am a self proclaimed Disciple of Leonardo Da Vinci and the self proclaimed biological son of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. Thank you Assassin's Creed for allowing me to get in touch with my heritage.
That's mad, I'm studying Mech Eng too, started 2nd year now going for a masters. I've been using this OST to help study fluid mechanics and mechanics of deformable solids and it really helps.
***** Well there has been scientific research showing that music affects the brain in many positive ways. It makes you smarter, happier and more productive at any age. But I can tell you from personal experience that, I worked a lot better, increased my focus and attention span and made me think in much more creative ways when solving problems. Not to mention, you don't get bored and can work for extra long hours. Furthermore, if there is a connection between the music you hear to the memories and experiences you've felt. The emotions can be amplified several times to increase productivity. The same way a fighter would listen to aggressive 'fight' music before fighting to pump himself up (or any other music that has a emotional connection to him). In this case, its my love for Assassin's Creed. I love the game and its amazing story line. I love the epic characters. I love everything about the renaissance. All this love and passion allows me to tap into my inner psyche and improve my work and concentration. If you don't feel the same way about music, you are missing out my friend.
The old AC:s had this very mysterious "foggy" vibe throughout the games that just completely vanished after AC3. Especially AC2 and Brotherhood. I can't explain what it is but that's what I love most about AC games.
The main reason is the soundtrack. People dont know how important a soundtrack and sound design in general are. One thing I miss in the modern titles is an ongoing soundtrack. In AC2 you always had a soundtrack playing depending on the town you have been in. Thats not the case anymore, sadly.
It's not just AC, most games from the Ps3/Xbox 360 era had this weird kinda mystic vibe. Game developpers during this Era used to have balls, they tried everything without a care in the world. For exemple a game like AC2/Brotherhood wouldn't happen today because of all the conspiration and religious critics that are in the games. Game devs used to be artists. Today you have to turn to Indie for that kind of stories and themes.
You mean like a sense of wonderment? I kind of get what you're saying but I feel like thats more nostalgia than anything, going from the 6th gen to the 7th gen was a huge jump and the possibilities were endless
I miss the "Resquiescat in pace". Nowadays in the assassins creed there isn't any of this anymore. Ezio had respect for his enemies, like Connor. And that is also how a true Assassins is!
+Daniel García Medina Even better: Ezio Triology remastered for PS4 The Ezio Triology is what made me love Assassins Creed and everything else is killing my intrests in the series in one way or another. (And yes i am even including AC4 here because of the story outside the Animus)
+Shadowpatrick_1007 for me, Altaïr is the best, the master of assassins but the history of Ezio is amazing, you can feel the angry in his heart when he kill in the first mission.
I really like the track that begins at 32:08. For me, it represents the moment when Ezio begins to realise that his destiny and his role in history is much bigger than a simple mission to avenge his family.
so many comments claiming they do their work while listening to these beautiful masterpiece created by Jesper Kyd.....and i thought i was the _only one_ who did his work like this! Just goes to prove this soundtracks arent just music....they are something else. Everyone has their own story attached to this game....but one thing is commonly shared....the passionate love we all have for this game! *May it never change.....may it never change us*
one of my all time favourite games, but i only realised when i replayed it from the beginning this year how easy it is. i was literally never killed in combat, by anyone. I only died from fall damage
+iM_JaCk it is a dam easy game lol , was just so fun which made up for it , i recently got unity cheap and the combat is harder but defiantly not better,
ah yes... my first assasins creed. What a wonderful touching game. I love the revenge, the stealth, the missions, the gameplay... A true wonder of a game.
watched my older brother play when i was 7 years old for the first time back in 2009-10. shit encapsulated me. i was too young too fully understand the story but there was just something about ezio and the game in general that just drew me to it. the memorable characters, the combat, the missions. ezio just look so badass to me. after that i watched my brother play brotherhood the following year, even tho i wasn’t the one playing it felt like i was. i was so excited to see what the story had in store. once again, brotherhood had me mesmerized. ezio continued to amaze me and the overall game didn’t fail to put me in awe. then revelations came the next year. watched my brother play once again. what a fucking game. i damn near cried at the end of the game. mind you, i was still young to fully understand the story but I didn’t give a fuck. the ezio trilogy amazed me so much. fast forward four years, 2016, im 13 now. i finally decide to play the series on my own. amazing. all i have to say. to this day the ezio trilogy are the best games i have ever played. now that i was older i actually understand now only the plot, but ezio as a character. he didn’t just look like a badass to me. he was someone forced into something that ended up being greater than he was, greater than vengeance for his family. his character development was extraordinarily done. he was no longer some 17 year old italian noble, who hoes around causing trouble. he was a matured grand assassin, who now understood the many aspects of his life he failed to fully understand “i had love, but i did not feel it. i had time, but i did not know it”. ezio felt like a real person who suffered so much for understanding. for understanding his role in all of this. i would be lying to you if i said I didn’t tear up at the end of revelations now understanding his story much more. fast forward another four years, 2020, im 17 now (same age my older brother was when he first played ac2 ironically) and bc of the quarantine i figured I’d play the ezio trilogy again bc why not. this game. never ceases to amaze. i feel like im playing it for the first time again. & this game has been with me for a lil over 10 years. the ezio trilogy is one of the greatest pieces of video game storytelling and it’s sad Ubisoft probably will never create an ac game close to the ezio trilogy. im done rambling. the ezio trilogy holds a special in my heart. requiescant in pace, ezio auditore da firenze🖤
There won't be ANY AC game like this one. There will be a hundred other for sure, but there's only one AC2, and it's simply the best. This soundtrack reminds me when I first played this game, and I was so amazed. Sadly Ubisoft made CoD from the series, and they're still relying on the success of this game. Still. The problem with the previous episodes is that they have no soul at all. They just want to make a lot of money, and altough those games are not bad either, they are not and never will be as amazing as this one.
why was assassin's creed II the best game ever made? Story! characters and plot were great. absolute enjoyment to hunt down the killers of ezio's father and brother. Soundtrack! really... if this soundtrack doesn't make your heart warmup and shiver, then you must be dead. Graphics! never were realistic, and never shouldnt be! the game looked great without cruel toned down colors. Gameplay! absolute enjoyment to play without useless functions and endless amounts tools, with crisp movement. Tombs! wtf where are my tombs ubisoft? i think i could go on and on but what's the point ubisoft will never do anything like this ever again. my only hope is that some other company with a heart, will create something as good as this game once was.
(Imagine the song of Ezio's epic speech) Believe me or not, but when I was younger I always wanted a laptop (my parents hate consoles) because I first played AC Bloodlines on PSP when my uncle gave it to me and I absolutely love it; and then my cousins told me stories about Ezio when AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations were released (because they had PS3 and XBox 360). In that time, the only console I had was the PSP and I thought (even if I hadn't had the opportunity to play another AC game since then) it was the best video games serie ever, and now I still think it, it just need more time to be developed another brilliant game like AC2 (it looks like they are working really hard on the new AC Empire), but I know no other AC game will be better than AC2 (its storyline, Ezio's behaviour and biography, places, songs, Desmond... I don't know, it has something that inspires me, that makes it one of the most memorable games ever). I always knew that, when I had a laptop, the first thing I'd do would be installing all AC games (specially AC2). 3 or 4 years ago, my parents offered me the PS4, but I chose PS3 because its games, games prices, but mainly because of AC. I LOVE AC. Now, 9 years later, finally I'm coming to university. And do you know what? I'd kept my word: I'm replaying all the saga for the 7th time now (and more times will come), and I still love it exactly like the first time. I will never regret playing it and any second spent on this saga was worth it.
When I first played this game, were it all began, from 2007 when AC was still new. Now I'm back here again when the franchise is on its final years before it's destroyed by the greed of its maker. Thanks for taking me on a ride, even if it's just worthwhile. From Jumping from the rooftops of Florence to Venice, the sound of the Hidden Blade when assassinating Templars. It's not just a game, it's a feeling One can never forget.
Makes me tear up and it sends shivers down my spine. Such an amazing game. Such amazing music. Please, Ubisoft, make them like this one again. Please. Make us feel this.
42:08 i remember playing this song in 2015 when I was in Florence Italy (even though it was for Venice in the game) with my headphones on and walking around in this marvelous city in awe. One of the only times where music from a video game made a real life experience so memorable.
Same here. When I was in front of Santa Maria del Fiore, with the soundtrack in my headphones, I tried mapping out the way to climb to the top. I'm an overweight guy and would have broken several bones, my neck and maybe damaged even more of my body, but it was still a good feeling.
Wow, coming to this video after playing assassins creed from the very beginning and watching it turn to shit is honestly so sad, some of these songs genuinely bring a tear to my eye as they were literally a massive part of my childhood, I think I'll stay here for a while and reminisce :')
I played AC 2 when I was 12 years old. It was the first game I really finished and was the first game I fell in love with. I remember coming home from my last exam of my quarter (I was in 7th grade) and just spending the entire day playing. It was so amazing and this game opened my eyes to the storytelling potential of video games. It literally became a pillar of my 12 year-old self!
Still easily one of the best and most memorable characters in games to this day! Not many games give me feels and nostalgia like this one does... good times!
Each like is a "Ubisoft please make a remake of the Ezio trilogy or a video game related to it again", bro, it is something that no one really asks for, but everyone, deep down, needs :')
I will never forget this game, this soundtrack, or this character. playing this game for the first time back in 2009 blew me away, little did i know it would become my favourite game of all time.
'Home in Florence', 'Leonardo's Inventions', 'Sanctuary', 'Flight Over Venice' and 'Dreams of Venice' did it for me. I then started to realize how good this game was and how genius the OST is. It's timeless. The AC games after AC3 basically have lackluster soundtracks when compared. And remember how fun it was simply collecting Feathers with the amazing music in the background.
"Sanctuary" makes me feel sad for everything Ezio has gone through. He was just 17 when he lost his father and his two brother. Everything changed in a single night, from being a young boy to an assassin. He had to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. No time to grieve, no time to cry. Only one task: finding who killed the family and erase them. But then he get involved in something bigger, with to no possibility to turning back. Year after year, Ezio has become stronger, faster, smarter, we can say the perfect assassin. And he had to renounce to his future, to the love of his life, Cristina. Maybe he had fun in the middle, he had a few friends...but that wasn't an ordinary life. Then he saw Cristina dying in his arms... While he was involved in the Assassin's battle, the battle for creating a better world, he did so much for others. But maybe no one has ever heard the scream of sorrow coming from the deep of his heart. Thank you, Ezio, for this magnificent and sad story.
Ezio was my friend through my childhood, I would do anything to see my friend again in a new adventure with a great soundtrack like this. We all remember the day of getting off school or work to come home to have the best gaming experience of our life. Thank you for that Ubi
I've always loved the idea of the Assassins being a brotherhood; a family. All these people from all around the world, with different cultures and religions, all united under a single creed, all working together and seeking peace, freedom and enlightenment for humanity. It's beautiful to me, and I would honestly join the brotherhood in a heartbeat if given the chance "Love binds our Order together; love of people, of cultures, of the world."
By FAAAAAAAAAAR thee best AC game to date. Beautiful soundtrack that fits the setting and time period just perfectly. Amazing character development and story, with gameplay that was unique and fun. This game will always have a special place in my heart, and has and will continue to go down in history.
It sucks that they had to ruin the already established story line with Desmond and the animus. If anything, Assassins Creed today could have been about Desmond training assassins in the modern world and working against the Templars actively. Desmond easily could have survived multiple more games, it was unnecessary for him to die during Revelations if you ask me. Now Assassins Creed is just about killing people while you play as different people who aren't connected at all by a storyline, like others said, the magic in the games have completely vanished. I look forward to see Ubisoft bring back Assassins Creed, but I don't like the current trend they have going for them currently. I hope you all have a good time listening to this playlist, I know I did, it brought back a lot of cherished memories.
Late reply but i agree with most of your points here. Personally i believe than new AC games are great, but as RPGs, they dont work as AC games as they dont follow the original formula at all. Despite graphics of Origins and Odyssey nailing it, everything else sucks compared to this game. Just the vibe you get while parkouring venice with this music in the BG is such an amazing vibe than i barely feel while watching gameplay clips of Unity, Syndicate, Origins and Odyssey. Not to forget how deep, touching and incredible the story is. This game is a pure 10/10 and I hope one day Ubisoft at least tries to pull off something nearly as perfect
I kinda feel like if they didn't kill him off it would turn into a Need for Speed situation, when the protaganist is just doing stuff and it would be boring, but yes, I would've prefered if they kept Desmond alive.
minute 42.. what a amazing song. when i played the game it was a revelation, i usually remember that song as one of the best i´ve ever heard in a game. no doubt a masterpiece. THANKS
The nostalgia. The bitter sweet feeling I now have, it's almost too painful. I can't even describe it. I can't even begin to put into words the masterpiece that was the Assassin's Creed franchise, and in particular, the masterful project that was Assassin's Creed 2. I honestly can't summarise or begin to describe how it made me feel to be a part of this incredible experience. What it was and how it felt, eternal. A timeless masterpiece. It's just too much for me to convey what it meant then and what it means now so I'm just going to let this soundtrack be a reminder to myself and a way to narrate the essence of Assassin's Creed, and what it used to be. Forever, Assassin's Creed.
I remember jailbreaking school computers that locked UA-cam to listen to this while I studied, now here I am several years later, studying in college. This soundtrack is genuinely one one the best ones I've ever come across.
Olivia Woloshyn Hahaha no really, I can. I've listened to this music a lot though. And, when you're playing AC II, you don't stop to just listen to the music, do you?
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard, and it brings back so many happy memories of playing as Ezio (my favourite Assassins Creed character so far). I'm so glad this soundtrack is so easily available on UA-cam :)
God this soundtrack takes me back to when I use to watch my little brother play this game man. He loved this game 😢. I hated my teenage years because of things I went through but watching him play this always helped me out
This soundtrack just hits so hard. I’m already wanting to cry from the first second of the song and this is my first playthrough and man I’m loving it.
We miss you, Ezio

Nerd
the new games suck indead
+Teis Gossen man, i totally agreed. Masterpiece. Everytime when i hear just a little symphony, my mind goes back to renaissance.
+Rick yu, I agree. They are making too many now, insted of that steady 3, 4, 5 year wait between the games, where they really worked on the characters and the story, and the world. I miss that, and yet I still want to play the new games.

You aren't alone brother, though we may never meet, the fact we both love Assassins creed makes us brothers.
It’s people like you who have the power to create something that has the exact impact on a kids life as this game did on yours.
Hope you're doing well man ! Stay strong
Liam Precious couldn't agree more, the Ezio trilogy of games were masterpieces (including Revelations, never understood all the hate)
Liam Precious That's the point, the sequels will never satisfy people because topping a masterpiece is a fucking hard thing to do.
"It is a good life we lead, brother."
"The best. May it never change."
"And may it never change us."
Too bad that life has changed Ubisoft, and we will never see such an amazing and detailed games as before :( AC 2 and Brotherhood still remain one of the best games in game industry and I will never forget this experience from completing them both.
I hate to say it but I think the ac story is dead

After reading a looooooot of comments I want to say : brothers from around the world, we are experiencing the same sadness listening to this and also we can close our eyes and remember the first time we played Ezio, when we discovered Venice or Firenze... each step, jump, murder. We will never live something like this but I am gratefull to listen to this now and not being alone to remember. Now i am 36 but this game and this world were the best ever. And I screamed to my tv when I saw Adam and Eve in Kilimandjaro it was so brilliants. Ezio, we miss you, requiscat in pace
Perfectly summed up our nostalgic feelings🙂🙂
so why not play it again?
This is the way
ive played 2, Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

Of course not
I would chill in Florence just because it was where it all began. No place like home

I went there after playing the game. All I kept thinking was "I climbed that", or "I could totally jump of that and kill that guy."

I've never given up on Assassin's Creed, even with all its faults. That being said, this is the AC I loved. The days of Ezio and Leonardo, of Bartholomeo and Uncle Mario, of Claudia and Maria... and, most of all, of Desmond.
God, I miss those days.
i remember back in 2015 when my brother recommended this great franchise to me :D i've been playing all the games ever since
And how do you feel now?
“It is a good life we lead brother
May it never change
And may it never change us”
*Ac2 theme starts playing*

I used to live in Italy so at one point my parents bought a painting of Florence. I had no clue what the painting was about but it's been hanging in my living room for a long time. One day I walk by it and something catches my eye. I realize that one of the buildings looks like the one from the game. (I know it the game was based on Florence) but I realized how much detail was put into the making of the game because the painting made me remember running around the city as Ezio. The painting was of Florence from a distance so when I saw the building with the dome and the gigantic tower next to it I was so amazed.
+BizarreKoopa Why else you think the ingame Florenca vas recreated very accurately? For historical reasons, ofcourse!
+BizarreKoopa that dome is from St. Mary's del Fiore, a trully beautifull church, and the beginning of Renaissance architecture.

Belfor09 what about home in florence?
+Belfor09 Took the words out of my mouth! I was just in another video a minute ago and I was commenting on how Sanctuary is easily one of the most iconic tracks in the game for me. Along with exactly the same choices you put.
Belfor09 I have to say that the OST of AC Revelations is on par with ACII. Especially 'Enough for One Life'. Lorne Balfe and Jesper Kyd are some of the best video game composers of this generation.
The most beautiful thing about the music is it has some sadness, but with defiance.
great art
Assassin's Creed soundtracks were literally the reason I passed my exams during my degree and masters. Finally graduated. In Mechanical Engineering if you're curious.
Foggy vibe?
It's not just AC, most games from the Ps3/Xbox 360 era had this weird kinda mystic vibe.
Game developpers during this Era used to have balls, they tried everything without a care in the world.
For exemple a game like AC2/Brotherhood wouldn't happen today because of all the conspiration and religious critics that are in the games.
Game devs used to be artists. Today you have to turn to Indie for that kind of stories and themes.

watched my older brother play when i was 7 years old for the first time back in 2009-10. shit encapsulated me. i was too young too fully understand the story but there was just something about ezio and the game in general that just drew me to it. the memorable characters, the combat, the missions. ezio just look so badass to me. after that i watched my brother play brotherhood the following year, even tho i wasn’t the one playing it felt like i was. i was so excited to see what the story had in store. once again, brotherhood had me mesmerized. ezio continued to amaze me and the overall game didn’t fail to put me in awe. then revelations came the next year. watched my brother play once again. what a fucking game. i damn near cried at the end of the game. mind you, i was still young to fully understand the story but I didn’t give a fuck. the ezio trilogy amazed me so much. fast forward four years, 2016, im 13 now. i finally decide to play the series on my own. amazing. all i have to say. to this day the ezio trilogy are the best games i have ever played. now that i was older i actually understand now only the plot, but ezio as a character. he didn’t just look like a badass to me. he was someone forced into something that ended up being greater than he was, greater than vengeance for his family. his character development was extraordinarily done. he was no longer some 17 year old italian noble, who hoes around causing trouble. he was a matured grand assassin, who now understood the many aspects of his life he failed to fully understand “i had love, but i did not feel it. i had time, but i did not know it”. ezio felt like a real person who suffered so much for understanding. for understanding his role in all of this. i would be lying to you if i said I didn’t tear up at the end of revelations now understanding his story much more. fast forward another four years, 2020, im 17 now (same age my older brother was when he first played ac2 ironically) and bc of the quarantine i figured I’d play the ezio trilogy again bc why not. this game. never ceases to amaze. i feel like im playing it for the first time again.
YES Same
There won't be ANY AC game like this one.
They lost magic after Ezio. After the Kenways and Unity they lost vision. After Syndicate they lost their minds.
why was assassin's creed II the best game ever made?
Story! characters and plot were great. absolute enjoyment to hunt down the killers of ezio's father and brother.
Soundtrack! really... if this soundtrack doesn't make your heart warmup and shiver, then you must be dead.
Graphics! never were realistic, and never shouldnt be! the game looked great without cruel toned down colors.
Gameplay! absolute enjoyment to play without useless functions and endless amounts tools, with crisp movement.
Tombs! wtf where are my tombs ubisoft?
i think i could go on and on but what's the point ubisoft will never do anything like this ever again.
my only hope is that some other company with a heart, will create something as good as this game once was.

+[Z]EKTOR 1 a bit cliche 2 yes
Shadow of the Colossus best game N/A
+Cfnaturalfeeling and soundtrack :) everything was good...
It's not just a game, it's a feeling One can never forget.
such a great game undoubtedly the best in the series igaf what anyone says!
fuckin oath
dude agreed. soundtrack, game play, story, even characters were awesome too.
I agree..
the best assassin creed ever 10/10 100% agreed
Yeah it was the best of all of them rip Ezio Auditore Dafirenze
Makes me tear up and it sends shivers down my spine. Such an amazing game. Such amazing music. Please, Ubisoft, make them like this one again. Please. Make us feel this.
+Arkardor B. me 2 it brings me back
42:08 i remember playing this song in 2015 when I was in Florence Italy (even though it was for Venice in the game) with my headphones on and walking around in this marvelous city in awe.
You can almost feel Ezio's story before it even began. You didn't know what it was going to be about... but you knew it was going to be tragic 💔
Wow, coming to this video after playing assassins creed from the very beginning and watching it turn to shit is honestly so sad, some of these songs genuinely bring a tear to my eye as they were literally a massive part of my childhood, I think I'll stay here for a while and reminisce :')
+PeeTiii or you could ROMEinisce ;)
Bob Barker ayy ;)
I loved AC2 for so many reasons, one is the storyline, how Ezio died, and the fact that this thing could have existed.
It was based on real events, the difference is that templar's and assassin's roles were reversed.
lol reversed. no.
I really wonder after listening to it the first time did Ubisoft and Jesper Kyd realize how legendary this soundtrack was gonna be
I played AC 2 when I was 12 years old.
I'm AC fan since when i was 10 or 11 y.o., so i grew up with this game, i have all of AC games, but Ezio'll stay in my heart forever in first place.
hit the view point at (44:14)
haha lol
Stop 😆😆😆😆 also, i cant remember which AC game DIDNT have that classic viewpoint sound, but i was pissed when they took it out
Still easily one of the best and most memorable characters in games to this day!
Leonardo’s inventions has to be the best
How can you talk about ost and not like ac 4 ost
Back when I graduated from high school, had friends, lover, family... Wonderful days belong to the past
Felt this, although me and my friend group went our separate ways after high school. Haven't felt the same kinship that they brought since then.
I'm so grateful to have been able to experience this game. It was truly an experience like no other.
I always come back this soundtrack. It is so hauntingly beautiful.
Oh, nostalgia smells, already cried.Assassin Creed will remain forever in my memories in the best color!
Its such a good soundtrack..I remember when they played in the background AC 2 and AC R will always be my favorite Assassin's Creed games.
Especially AC II
Youre right man. Ezio has for my opinion the saddest Story from all of the Assasins Creed Characters and for this reason he is the best.
Che orgoglio il fatto che abbiano scelto l'Italia come paese per ACII eh?
@@yasininn76 spettacolo, la saga di Ezio la migliore in assoluto

Venice Rooftops ( 3:59 )
Man I was looking for this for more than 10 years now
Ezio was my friend through my childhood, I would do anything to see my friend again in a new adventure with a great soundtrack like this. We all remember the day of getting off school or work to come home to have the best gaming experience of our life. Thank you for that Ubi
I was sad when I completed the story because I wouldn't get to hear his voice again
Then Brotherhood came out, baby!
Ezio's family is the kind of soundtracks that stick with you for years!
I've always loved the idea of the Assassins being a brotherhood; a family. All these people from all around the world, with different cultures and religions, all united under a single creed, all working together and seeking peace, freedom and enlightenment for humanity. It's beautiful to me, and I would honestly join the brotherhood in a heartbeat if given the chance
"Love binds our Order together; love of people, of cultures, of the world."
Personally this soundtrack touched my heart when i was a kid, and still do it. Brings me so many memories and good moments. Thank you Jesper Kyd
These songs are masterpieces
And the game 😍
They sure are
By FAAAAAAAAAAR thee best AC game to date.
I know this is a year old, but Desmond didn't die in Revelations. He went into a coma, then came out, then it was AC3 when he eventually died.
Nothng wrong with RPG's it made the combat better
I kinda feel like if they didn't kill him off it would turn into a Need for Speed situation, when the protaganist is just doing stuff and it would be boring, but yes, I would've prefered if they kept Desmond alive.
Well the good news is that we have Layla now :)
"The Auditore are not dead! I'm still here! Me! Ezio! Ezio Auditore!"

minute 42.. what a amazing song. when i played the game it was a revelation, i usually remember that song as one of the best i´ve ever heard in a game. no doubt a masterpiece. THANKS
I love OSTs. They immediatly take you back to the awesome Adventures we had. How easy we forget...
Lord Hades it is the best assassins creed game I agree with u bud
Best story ever. Best assassin ever. Best soundtrack ever. Fuck, i love this game :"3
Requiescat in pace, Ezio.
One of the the Greatest Soundtracks that dwarfed its own one hell of a game.
Dare I say that the music triples the immersion.
Who listens to this and goes down to the comment and tries to find the long comments to read and that has a meaning
Yes me too. Good music elicits good comments!
Meee eeee eeeee
I'm doing this at the moment
I do😅

I remember jailbreaking school computers that locked UA-cam to listen to this while I studied, now here I am several years later, studying in college. This soundtrack is genuinely one one the best ones I've ever come across.
Such a great soundtrack! Perfect to listen to if you need to study ;)
Also, Flight over Venice 1 & 2 are the best, IMO! :D

Hahaha no really, I can. I've listened to this music a lot though. And, when you're playing AC II, you don't stop to just listen to the music, do you?
I like daydreaming to this

Okay I guess, but I'll see the results when the finals arrive.
Спустя столько лет, это великолепно.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard, and it brings back so many happy memories of playing as Ezio (my favourite Assassins Creed character so far). I'm so glad this soundtrack is so easily available on UA-cam :)
Heb je helemaal gelijk in!
God this soundtrack takes me back to when I use to watch my little brother play this game man. He loved this game 😢. I hated my teenage years because of things I went through but watching him play this always helped me out
This is the best soundtrack in the history of video games.
Kingdom hearts dearly beloved
this and medal of honor frontline
halo are better

Halo is a fantasy game, where as medal of honour is history so it has more impact for me.
Jesper Kyd is a true legend!
I think Assassin's creed 2 Is one of my Favorite Games, Considering that There are Like, 26 AC Games.

This soundtrack just hits so hard. I’m already wanting to cry from the first second of the song and this is my first playthrough and man I’m loving it.
listening to this soundtrack gives me chills. Such a great story line. Definitely playing it over again this summer.
