On March 5th this year Lucy performed her first live concert in Manchester, UK. She has just released the first song of that evening. She performed 17 songs that night and two of them included Martha. I am looking forward to the remainder of the recordings. As you know Lucy has recorded 60 songs and growing. I would like to see you react to more of Lucy’s recordings. I don’t know which song is best because I like all of them. Stay Free, Safe, and Healthy my friend.
Interesting to say Lucy has come a long way since hearing her brilliant rendition of Hallelujah, However, Lucy did a cover of "Memory" from the musical "Cats" when she was a mere fifteen years old. When you make song your own, it is rarely as good as the original. I literally prefer when people copy the original and make it sound perfect. I have to say that this is horribly pitch corrected. Lucy is a very good singer but so many notes in this sound thin and metallic and step like because of the autotune--it is detrimental to the sound of her voice. You can hear some of the notes that are largely unaffected have a nice full sound with vibrato. You should listen to the original by Barbra Streisand.
The pitch correction on Lucy's recordings aren't alot just minor tweaks here and there which to be honest are totally unnecessary, she's actually more talented then even her producers realise but sadly there isn't a contemporary singer in the world today who isn't falling victim to the industry and being manicured in the recording studio. At least she isn't using vocoder tuning like most of the rubbish Pop diva's today. As for the Streisand original as amazing as it is to my ear at least her top range belt sounds screamed and not sang with clean vibrato which Lucy's is so for that reason Lucy's vocals sound more classically trained.
I can assure you that Maggie would have mentioned it if this had been horribly pitch corrected. Perhaps you should tell both Lucy and Maggie where they are both going wrong. Tell me, why is it that nobody else appears to agree with your expert opinion?
@@philharris5848 People seem to be in denial about pitch correction. I can hear it, but I also put it through a pitch monitor and it's very step-like, snapped to the lines, always centered on the lines for the vibrato and flattened out on the lines for the longer held notes, which is when it sounds synthetic, unless you're so used to autotune you don't realize it's not natural. Natural vocals never look like that step like waveform. I don't understand why they do it or why she allows them to do it, because Lucy Thomas is an excellent singer and sounds much better without the autotune.
@@adamknight7041 I don't always prefer Streisand's singing but who you prefer is a matter of preference. However, you are wrong that there isn't a lot of pitch correction and just minor tweaks here and there. If you looked at the pitch monitor graph you would see every single note, including those with vibrato, is dead on the pitch lines, and the more extended notes are flattened out completely on the line, which is where you can hear the synthetic effect. And the parts that look like a piano was being played--very step-like, snapped to the lines. Every note in this recording is pitch corrected. I agree she doesn't need it and actually she would sound much better without it because it distorts her voice, reduces expression, and diminishes resonance.
@@philharris5848 I reviewed the pitch monitor for this again, and I was thinking of the Faouzia recording in which which is every vibrato and straight notice centered straight on the line. In this they allow some of the notes with vibrato to vary upper or down from the pitch slightly, but on average 80% of it is centered on snapped to the line, including all the longer held notes and the quick change notes that go up and down like a stepladder.
Why oh why Maggie? You are a better singer who can sing without pitch correction software! Why are you reacting to someone who clearly IS? Check out Zhou Shen for instance..he can sing without such trickery
Lucy can sing without pitch correction too her live performances illustrate this, whatever is being done with her voice by her production team might well be beyond her creative control. 99%+ of what you hear is her anyway, the pitch correction is very minimal. She actually sounds even better live then on her recordings which totally discredits your armchair critique of her 😂
You're talking utter nonsense, Lucy sounds exactly the same "Live" in concert as she does hear. She's performing a solo concert next in Tokyo Japan. At the end of the year she's starring in a brand new musical especially written for her called "Rosie." Lucy doesn't need any pitch correction, and utube doesn't need jealous trolls like you.

Very Nice !!
