I am so late to this party....just found out about and started listening to Lucy's songs last week. I think I've watched/listened to every single one. What an incredible talent and a total gift!
Lucy is an angel. Nobody even close to her. She is a pure vocalist. This was like a MasterCard commercial. Your reaction was priceless!!! "Broken Dreams" or "We can change the world" from the Musical ROSIE. They are both excellent.
Another 'gotcha' by Lucy. She has the ability to extract "WOW" from anyone who hears her. You may have set a speed record -- you said WOW! before the beautiful short intro completed. And many more followed up to the end which got OMG. In my mind this is a very emotional rendition. That intro was a little more pure (not as much overtone as usual) and delicate than her voice normally is. It set the tone for the rest of the piece. Lucy can do a lot with her voice and this time it sounded very tender and emotional. I could barely get through it (for several viewings) without being reduced to a chill and tear ridden mess. Welcome to the club.

Now you have heard the Lucy Thomas that a lot of us have been enjoying for a long time. She never ever disappoints us. I almost don’t want her to become famous but she is just about on her way. Now it will do your soul good to listen to Lucy and Martha Thomas singing “The Pryer”. Martha is her younger sister by 5yrs. But she is right behind Lucy in her vocals and the harmonies are to die for. Then there are about 50 or so other recordings to enjoy that are just as good as “Evergreen”. Great review by the way. Every song I listen to by Lucy I am like you are. What can one say about this performance. How many ways can one describe perfection. Have fun, smile, and enjoy.

I think the last concert I attended was in the late 60s, but I would most definitely go to see Lucy in concert, along with a pack of tissues because her voice always manages to bring me to tears!

Jennifer, I see you were pulled into the 'Lucy effect'; yes, very hypnotic where you feel what she feels as she gently eases into your soul and whisks you away into a journey towards serene, transcendental, musical bliss! Her vocals are so technical, so well layered, holds notes and words and her vibrato just perfectly falls off a word and this gives it that deep, rich, tone to everything! A lot of people say Lucy has the best vocals they have ever heard.........and I agree with them; the 'magic' of Lucy Thomas
Lucy could easily be described as indeed the Streisand of her generation, I mean I don't know if it were to ever happen but I would so love to see Streisand herself see this from Lucy and even the 2 to meet, it would just be magic endearing moments seeing something like that happen!
Ms. Thomas is one those singers who sings as easily as she speaks....effortless. Her intonation is spot on. I commend you for covering songs that some of the best singers would not even attempt. You have been coached well . Kudos young lady.
I saw Lucy perform this live in Manchester at her debut solo concert on 5th March. She was actually better live than the video. And so was the other 16 songs she performed. Lucy is the best vocalist of her kind in the world and she's only 20!!! And what a fantastic reaction from you my love. Amazing ❤

Jennifer, about 3/4 of the way through this piece, Lucy does a little run then a decrescendo that brings it down to earth again, to a softer tone and voice. She does that on a lot of her performances and that soft, smooth ending forces a deep gut-reaction from me. 😂

In all my life producing music and doing composition with a male vocalist that won all State vocals from high school up until song writing and battle of the bands opening for major country acts I have to say this is one of the best if not the best female vocalists i've ever heard up and beyond the ranks of Karen Capenter, Whitney Houston and Barbara Streisand! I wish I’d seen your reaction when it was posted. Not sure how I missed it… I think I was already subscribed. Anyway, you’re in good and widespread company when you get emotional listening to and watching Lucy perform all these songs. There are just so many incredible covers on her channel now, every new one seeming better than the last, but every time you re-listen to any of them you get the same goosebumps and you just know that you’re hearing the best cover of that song anyone’s ever done. On the Star Is Born theme, she covers Lady Gaga’s Always Remember Us This Way from the newer remake with Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It, like everything else she does, is incredible. Actually she sings this better then Streisand. Lucy has incredible vocals and breath control. Her voice is like pure silk!!! The best vocalist I've ever heard in all my life

My mother at 17 years old was driven to a Carnegie hall in Mellon’s limousine to sing as a soloist. They made a live recording while she was singing later playback on the first U.S. commercially radio station. Call sign KDKA Pittsburgh. The song was “loves where you find it” My mom was in 52 Broadway shows the originals like Oklahoma, Annie get your gun, Porgy and Bess etc. My mom’s last employer was Rodgers and Hammerstein. My mom work with gene Kelly etc. I’m in my mid-sixties. Grew up in the rock and roll days when we had some dam good music. Loved a lot of Motown labels. When to a lot of concerts back in the day. Emerson lake and Palmer, Santana, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Jethro Tull, Buddy Rich way too many to list. I even got a chance to see Liberace his sidekick was a young boy naturally lol and heard him play a Stradivarius violin wow. Me I’m a retired building contractor. Because of my child environment and I have perfect pitch ears. Lucy is a vocal coach’s dream! Her voice is like auto tune. That coupled with she’s absolutely gorgeous the long hair and blue eyes she could be in Model. Because she seems so down to earth this makes her stand out the lack of a better word wholesome. Her sister is also developing great singing skills incredible family. I’m so glad she’s doing it her way and not some screwed up promoter dragging her into the fast pace music drug scenes etc. Her mother is a good singer also. I should give kudos to her mom and dad supporting her obviously.

Hello Jennifer, what a great reaction you gave to Lucy singing this cover of Evergreen, when I first heard it it left me speechless as well, she is such a gifted and talented artist for her age, another song which will give you goosebumbs is the " Prayer " Lucy sings this song with her younger sister Martha, then there is a blues song Lucy sings originally sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James " At Last " this is a really great cover. If you like country music Lucy sings " Desperado " she was young when she recorded this song, and finelly if you like the musical " West Side Story " there is a famous song called " Somewhere " one of her best songs. It really was special to me, and I never really cared for the song that much. She made is something relevant today, IMO.

Jennifer, sometimes the reactor's body language says a lot. Right out of the gate your eyes popped even before the WOW. Then they closed (as to process) and there was a smile, almost as if to say "what am I listening to?". Then came the goose bumps on you arm. Then you were speechless, just shaking your head. Lucy really had you pulled in and astounded. Since I'm a Lucy fan, all this pleases me that you became so involved. BTW: this is not criticism of you but appreciation for your positive reaction.

Now you have heard the Lucy Thomas that a lot of us have been enjoying for a long time. She never ever disappoints us. I almost don’t want her to become famous but she is just about on her way. Now it will do your soul good to listen to Lucy and Martha Thomas singing “The Pryer”. Martha is her younger sister by 5yrs. But she is right behind Lucy in her vocals and the harmonies are to die for. Then there are about 50 or so other recordings to enjoy that are just as good as “Evergreen”. Great review by the way.

I think the last concert I attended was in the late 60s, but I would most definitely go to see Lucy in concert, along with a pack of tissues because her voice always manages to bring me to tears!

Jennifer, I see you were pulled into the 'Lucy effect'; yes, very hypnotic where you feel what she feels as she gently eases into your soul and whisks you away into a journey towards serene, transcendental, musical bliss! Her vocals are so technical, so well layered, holds notes and words and her vibrato just perfectly falls off a word and this gives it that deep, rich, tone to everything! A lot of people say Lucy has the best vocals they have ever heard.........and I agree with them; the 'magic' of Lucy Thomas

I saw Lucy perform this live in Manchester at her debut solo concert on 5th March. She was actually better live than the video. And so was the other 16 songs she performed. Lucy is the best vocalist of her kind in the world and she's only 20!!! And what a fantastic reaction from you my love. Amazing ❤

Jennifer, about 3/4 of the way through this piece, Lucy does a little run then a decrescendo that brings it down to earth again, to a softer tone and voice. She does that on a lot of her performances and that soft, smooth ending forces a deep gut-reaction from me. 😂

In all my life producing music and doing composition with a male vocalist that won all State vocals from high school up until song writing and battle of the bands opening for major country acts I have to say this is one of the best if not the best female vocalists i've ever heard up and beyond the ranks of Karen Capenter, Whitney Houston and Barbara Streisand! I would love to see her perform on America's Got Talent! 💥💯👍

I wish I’d seen your reaction when it was posted. Not sure how I missed it… I think I was already subscribed. Anyway, you’re in good and widespread company when you get emotional listening to and watching Lucy perform all these songs. There are just so many incredible covers on her channel now, every new one seeming better than the last, but every time you re-listen to any of them you get the same goosebumps and you just know that you’re hearing the best cover of that song anyone’s ever done.
On the Star Is Born theme, she covers Lady Gaga’s Always Remember Us This Way from the newer remake with Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It, like everything else she does, is incredible. You might be interested in checking it out one of these days. It’s there on her channel. -Jon

My mother at 17 years old was driven to a Carnegie hall in Mellon’s limousine to sing as a soloist. They made a live recording while she was singing later playback on the first U.S. commercially radio station. Call sign KDKA Pittsburgh. The song was “loves where you find it” My mom was in 52 Broadway shows the originals like Oklahoma, Annie get your gun, Porgy and Bess etc. My mom’s last employer was Rodgers and Hammerstein. My mom work with gene Kelly etc. I’m in my mid-sixties. Grew up in the rock and roll days when we had some dam good music. Loved a lot of Motown labels. When to a lot of concerts back in the day. Emerson lake and Palmer, Santana, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Jethro Tull, Buddy Rich way too many to list. I even got a chance to see Liberace his sidekick was a young boy naturally lol and heard him play a Stradivarius violin wow. Me I’m a retired building contractor. Because of my child environment and I have perfect pitch ears. Lucy is a vocal coach’s dream! Her voice is like auto tune. That coupled with she’s absolutely gorgeous the long hair and blue eyes she could be in Model. Because she seems so down to earth this makes her stand out the lack of a better word wholesome. Her sister is also developing great singing skills incredible family. I’m so glad she’s doing it her way and not some screwed up promoter dragging her into the fast pace music drug scenes etc. Her mother is a good singer also. I should give kudos to her mom and dad supporting her obviously.

Hello Jennifer, what a great reaction you gave to Lucy singing this cover of Evergreen, when I first heard it it left me speechless as well, she is such a gifted and talented artist for her age, another song which will give you goosebumbs is the " Prayer " Lucy sings this song with her younger sister Martha, then there is a blues song Lucy sings originally sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James " At Last " this is a really great cover. If you like country music Lucy sings " Desperado " she was young when she recorded this song, and finelly if you like the musical " West Side Story " there is a famous song called " Somewhere " one of her best songs. Keep going down the rabbit hole you won't regret it. Love Barbara.
