Can You Do This Game

This game focuses on impulse control, teaching your dog to listen to verbal cues even when distracted by stimuli in the environment, such as food, other dogs, scents, or wildlife.
By starting with simple foundations we can build to your dogs being able to listen and react to cues even when in high arousal - Thinking in arousal.
Think of being able to call your dog when they are engaged in play or ask your dog to sit or down at a distance or in an emergency.
Are they able to hear you when they are engaged in something they are doing?
As humans, we can find this hard when we are engrossed in a good book, a conversation, a movie or even when we are engaged in our own thoughts and someone calls out to us as we pass by. We are not ignoring them, we just can't hear in that moment as our focus is elsewhere.
It is important that we realise that our dogs are not being bad, stubborn or whatever other label you might use, they just can't hear you in that moment and haven't yet been taught how to listen when they are fully engaged in something else.
This is a skill they need to learn to be able to succeed.

Thank you, this looks like a good game to try with my Viszla who’s recall when distracted by ‘hunt mode’ when out on walks. Baby steps first but I think it will help
