- The most difficult part about having a dog is without doubt, losing them. When pet loss is unexpected it can be especially traumatic. This is the story about what happened to my dog Keegan, how I almost lost him 9 years earlier, and how he changed my life forever. The hardest part of having a pet is saying goodbye. So instead, I say, "See you soon my sweet boy. See you soon."

I lost my Little Bear one year and one month ago yesterday, at 13 years old. She had bone cancer and I had to end her suffering. and not be selfish. I still cry over her every single day. Losing your pup can be more traumatic than losing humans in your life, and that is okay. Don't let anyone tell you "it was just a dog." Your grief is real and is okay to have. It is normal and good. It reminds you of your love.

OMG! Two months ago I got my Baby Girl: Sara, my loved Border Collie. (She's five months now) I can't imagine my life without her, she's my everything. Every where I go she's next to me. I Can't imagine how painful was for you to let Keegan go to "Dog's Heaven". Thanks for sharing it. I can't stop crying.
The love of a dog is always worth the pain of eventually losing them. Every moment is so precious. Enjoy your lovely Sara.
Keegan was and is always as our viewers in our hart, he was and still is a border collie that needed that little love attention and training. I enjoyed every parts of him, and also enjoyed and still will the training and advice you give for new dogs and how to train a border collie from day 1 in your home.

So much of what you said resonated with us. We took on a six year old BC with lots of health and anxiety issues. We had him for only six years before his health deteriorated. Despite all the challenges he was the most fantastic dog we’ve ever had and we still miss him dearly.
We put so much of ourselves into relationship building with these "challenging" dogs, it's no wonder they take a piece of our hearts when they pass on to the other side.
I hope he is in a better place

Nothing I will write will make it better, but I still wanted to tell you that this story is very touching and it made me sad, but also made me want to appreciate every moment with my dog. Sometimes it is easy to forget that the time is limited and live like every day is the same and it always will be. Thank you for sharing. I am half of the world far away, but somehow feel close. Thank you for this video. It will help me to look differently at the issues that I am having with my 8 month old Border Collie. People judge me with my over loving and over excitable puppy but they do not know a thing. What a beautiful tribute to the dynamic Keegan. He is now playing his entire brass band in the heavenly realm~ completely healed and whole~~~~************
Yes, people will always judge, but we don't need to judge ourselves so harshly. I love the idea of Keegan and his full brass band in the heavenly realm. Makes me smile.
