Triplets seem more flowing whereas the alternative mentioned seemed to be more clinical in it's strict form. I haven't thought about this stuff in years. Thx Alex!
I'm learning the drums and have not gotten to triples yet but I am trying to learn music notation and I enjoy how detailed you were in your explanations and not just identifying the different notes like most videos :)
@@staleyexplores Anything with a 6/8 or 12/8 time or a swing feel. These come to mind: We Are The Champions, Hallelujah, You're My Best Friend, Your Mother Should Know, Revolution, Julius, Oh Darling, Eliza, My Friend My Friend (this one is particularly interesting) - sorry, lots of Beatles and Queen and Phish in there.

When I was in school, I was told to count triples like this: One and ä, two and ä, three and ä, four and ä....
YES! That will work! I like that because you are also keeping track of the beat. Thanks for watching!
One trip let, two trip let, three trip let, four trip let. I'm a drummer and this works best for me.
Great tip!
Autopilot, it's all about autopilot.
