Cheers Georgios! Yes...one of those days a Frank cover is DEFINITIVELY on the cards. Look for the new series Shawn Lane ‘ A Second Look’ and the podcast follow ups on The Mediocratics Radio. Much much more on the horizon!
Cheers! It depends on the guitar neck. Usually 2nd or 3rd fret. Sometimes 5th depending what guitar I am using. I also prefer to forego right hand muting In favor of a sustained clean tone with an EQ treble boost into a limiter which brings out overtones if your not hand muting so I sometimes use two one on the 5th and one just behind on the 2nd. I also usually wrap over 5 strings but under the low E so things don’t fret out. I find wrapping over all strings isn’t effective on radius necks and it’s definitely not on a flat radius. The obvious option is do away with it and mute but I don’t like the sound so it’s one or the other.
Is that a piezo on the acoustic guitar or mic'ed? I've never heard such a clean and wonderful warm acoustic guitar tone but with clarity. Gorgeous sound!
Both. 3/4 piezo w 1/4 Mic dialled in. Chain is Acoustic - Orange acoustic Pre twin channel - Boss LimiterLM2 - Gate - Desk. The Orange Pre is astonishing. Infact, it is so good I bought 2 from its architect Dennis Marshall. They have since become discontinued. When you combine the Pre using (piezo & mic) out to a Boss Limiter (Which is by far superior in its response in pick attack to compression) then gate it hard, that is the result. Every acoustic sounds amazing through this effect chain! That said I also had 'on loan' an acoustic made from the private wood collection of a certain luthier called Abe Wechter. That is the 'sound' you are hearing. I used that guitar exclusively for the Marchbank/Anur NoneOther album. This is where its at for me now. ua-cam.com/video/4I_6NObegk8/v-deo.html

Holy Moses ....,
Hey, they should've featured Roy on Stan Lee's Superhumans!
Even the acoustic was hooked to a synth? How were you doing that?
No. The acoustic was recorded direct to desk with a limiter and gated hard
What are your musical influences? Amazing playing 🎸👍👌
Sami Nurmesniemi Hey Sami. Way too many to mention mate. I’ve learnt a lot from many different cultures over the years and I still feel like I’m only scratching the surface! That said Art Tatum and Paco de Lucia were a massive influences and still are in many ways.
Yes i can hear it, that's why i like IT a lot. I mean different culture issues. Keep doing good music 💪😀
This is great but can I ask if there are any actual songs I can check out of yours on youtube or anything similar?
