I always practice every night but i get too shy to show and thinking about that I can't do it because lack of confidence in my mind I keep thinking that i can't do it but at the same time I keep thinking that I love acting but either way I am still 13 I can still decide in the future. By the way I really appreciate the vids that you uploaded. Thank you

      @kaitlyng7850 4 роки тому +3

      drake 422 If you haven't already TAKE ACTING CLASSES!! Or if you can do drama in school. I was same way, always super shy and could barely talk in front of my class. This year I took drama in school, starting taking voice lessons, and acting class outside of school-- everything that got me out of my comfort zone. When I had to speak in front of my English class to do a poem recitation, I ended up doing extremely well and my teacher even asked me to participate in our school wide competition. This year I've gotten so much better at speaking in general, but you have to be able to take risks. I understand you think you're too shy to act in front of people, but you have to step out of your comfort zone to be an actor. Lots of actors are actually shy, but their love for performing doesn't stop them from giving an amazing performance. Don't tell yourself you aren't good enough because with that mindset you never will be. Just step out of your comfort zone and you'll notice improvements. Maybe not immediately, but overtime. :)

    I am Zoom teaching young actors in Chicago since the quarantine. Before that I taught in the classrooms of Chicago Actors Studio. We are not charging full rates to kids in Chicago on limited incomes since parents are out of work. The Zoom classes are best for kids who need a break from lock down. We have fun and create great scenes and monologues with a group of 8-10 students. I have invited good film teachers, actors out of work, Self taping instructors who come to help the kids for free. I teach the parents, the Biz of Acting.
    I invite Agents, Casting Directors to come to my Zoom. Inner city kids in Chicago have had a rough summer with lock down. I am doing my best to bring the world of acting as an alternative. Thank you for your great suggestions.

    I am so glad to have found your channel, I'm still in my early teen years but I've developed a love for all things theatre all through my life, always being surrounded by it in my family- and having a career in it is such a dream for me. I've been trying to convince my parents to let me take a local acting class and I'm going to ask them if I could get 'How to be a Star Right Where You Are' When I get a chance. I also am hoping to audition through backstage after extending my resume. I filmed my first video audition recently- however unqualified- because you helped me realize working in acting could be more than just a fantasy.

      Alana Devika if you truly are doing ALL of the emotional work, you’re truly feeling it but tears won’t come, it could be a physical problem. I recommend doing the full body Strasberg warmup. You can find it on UA-cam. It will help you relax every muscle in your body, reliving tension in the face can help with tears. Beyond that, make sure you are always very well hydrated, and avoid alcohol the day before you need to cry on cue. If you have a problem with eye dryness, look into eye drops. :) this is what helped me

    Hello Ms. Wright, I’m just downloaded your book “25 Ways to Get More Auditions” and am super excited to read it! I have an interview (via video conference) with an acting school in New York for their youth program, and was wondering if you had any tips on how to prepare, what I should have ready, and what might be discussed during the interview. Thank you very much for providing so much insight and valuable information and resources about this industry, and please stay safe ❤️

    Hello Wendy,
    Firstly I’d like to say thank you for your videos, tips and great energy! Your support meant a lot to the actors!
    I’m new actor from Toronto, Canada. I have some acting experience here and I’m taking classes. I did headshots with Youssef, that I know we’re coached by you to be a headshots photographer. I’m working on my accent now during the quarantine. My question is about the course - does it make sense to take it from Toronto if I’m not able to travel anywhere for at least a year? And if I have an accent? I’d love to but as it requires some investment I’m trying to understand if I should take it now or maybe later. Thank you in advance!

    Wendy, is online one on one classes good to learn acting. Or should I jump between online and in class ones with other people? I guess I'm wondering if the experience with many people is something I need or can I focus on one on one classes to learn my acting. Obviously I will be working with many people later but for a beginner, is online okay and to stay focused on online classes for a while okay to build myself up.

    I wonder if agents need credentials? I was my own manager/agent for a short period of acting when I was 20. Got my SAG eligibility in 5 months. Stopped a while. Life happens. I’ve had certain people I’ve worked with tell me don’t join until you have to. I’ve had others say join it makes you more legitimate, respected, and marketable. But then you can’t do non union work. I’m thinking of getting back into the business. It’s been a while. What’s your take on SAG vs. purposely staying SAG eligible? Which do you think is the best decision to make. Thanks for this video and for your time. I’m looking into your course online. I just got accepted to Berklee College of Music Online because I have two aspirations. I’m going to do your course after my first semester most likely. :) I learned myself how to create professional relationships with every crew I got casted with when I was 20 years old and that’s how I got my Vouchers so fast. Second to second AD.
