do monologue Mondays!!! Do they even if you don’t have time. Treat it its a last minute audition. I throw them in even I got busy. Always make them ahead too. It’s A GIFT THIS COMMUNITY THERE!!! It works when your schedule is full. I can’t take the course Wendy speak cause my schedule. BUT there is still stuff to gain and learn. Stop being lazy. Stop with excuses. Just put the work. Sacrifice time.
Wendy, SAG-AFTRA is divided into two: SAG-AFTRA and SAG-INDIE. I do not deal with neither when I was modeling in the industry kept up with the agents they build a file on you and all salary. Now, do not like clients always having the upper hand regardless if they need people. Agents represent their clients do not pay a fees to work but SAG is different. My point is agent have resume, salary, and all information on file keep up yearly if anything changes. So, I agree that agents must be in contact to realize that both client and actor are important. Great information.
I wish I could hear that earlier, unfortunately I don’t have a credit and join Sag-Aftra already :( Luckily I’m very persistent and have a side hustle. Thank you so much Wendy!
You can still make it happen! Make sure you have a plan for building your acting career and if you don;t join my HWC COURSE AND COMMUNITY and we will give you one.
Wendy after your recommendation, I watched "One Day" with Leo Woodall and Wow he's dazzlingly charismatic ,heartbreakingly honest and absolutely captivating. Thanks for the suggestion ,I loved the series and can't wait to see what he does next ❤
Advice for someone 57 - looks 40 maybe, who is starting out after decades of not doing it (built a biz, sold it) is it just not worth it at that age? Thanks for ur vids!
this video inspired me to do better. Hey Wendy, i’m in your facebook group. I wanted to ask you for advice on what i should do / need to do next. I have a resume with a Nike Commerical , 2 short films, 1 theatre thing, and over 10 acting classes on resume. I feel as if my resume has some good experience (of course it can grow) but i don’t feel good at my craft yet. What do you think i should focus on at the moment?
TRAINING, TRAINING, TRAINING with REAL professional acting coaches. James Ciccone, Andi Methany, Houde School of Acting, Anthony Meindl. Check them out.
Also, if you go Fi-Core, you will probably NOT book anything major with us. SAG-AFTRA, union workers, are tight-nit. All the unions are, really. We look after one another. If you go fi-core, even tho you're paying dues and stuff, you're not viewed as one of us. It could be HIGHLY frowned upon by union workers cuz you're weakening our resolve. Fi-core actors will probably not book series regular roles, leading roles in major motion picture films, and if you try to rejoin the union, they could make it a lot more difficult for you to rejoin. But, I get that people gotta do what they gotta do to make ends meet.
Producers who are sag actors might refuse hire ficore that is another thing could go against you and maybe some casting directors or agents who where union in acting or film union I got lucky with my agent. ;)
I’m another Caucasian reddish brown haired girl, whoopie 🎉😂 But 5’10”, produce my own music, play keys, sing, dance, like doing fight scenes and some of my own stunts, direct, edit, color grade, makeup… Let’s see if any of that helps 😂 For reference if you want to see my weird art~ all the music videos on my page have been directed, styled, edited, produced, color graded by me with all songs written/produced/sung by me 🤪
Being a great actor will have your stand out. Being beautiful. Being funny. Being unique and different looking. So many things speaking multiple languages. Being great at voiceover. Being a great at martial arts, stunts or fighting. Playing instruments. Having a unique sounding voice. Having of unique looking face. Being really, short being really tall. Having a great body, having a funny looking body. Having a unique laugh. Having a unique smile. So many things make human beings different. But what matters most is that you are bringing yourself and parts of your genuine personality to every role.
I just did what you said about contacting the agencies weekly and after my second attempt, it worked 💪🏿

ALL FACTS! Acting isn't cheap. Most of the money I make is spent on acting classes, headshots and wine to get me through the "no booking months" 😂😂

No one knows an actor is FICORE. and in RIGHT TO WORK STATES they do not have to be SAG-AFTRA EVER.

Ficore to me is the worst thing in the world.
