This video is about My Movie
"Let Freedom Ring with A ShotGun Blast" is a line that has played over in my head for many years after first hearing this song, I'm pretty sure I had the same reaction to it as you guys did too, what a powerful lyric to fill in that break.
Probably my ABSOLUTE favourite Machine Head track....EVER. Thanks for reacting to THIS track first. Great reaction btw.
Got to be one of the best intros to a metal bands debut album ever? Can’t think of many that hit as hard as this all the years later still sounds amazing
Rob Flynn really brought something new to the scene with this album, some of that riffing no one had ever done before.
Machine Head - Halo!!
No, do Aesthetics of Hate. Halo is so fucking overrated.
Southern Trend Productions
Halo isnt overrated but if I was gonna choose a song from The Blackening, I'd choose Clenching The Fist Of Dissent
Ayeew Tasko but the original not that watered down one they used for the Halo video.
Victor - Agree!
Halo is overrated IMO - and the edited video version makes it worse. Clenching the Fists of Dissent is the best from that album (great album).
Clenching the Fists of Dissent - Machine Head
Aesthetics of Hate - Machine Head
Wolves - Machine Head
Descend the shades of night - Machine Head ; also a good one
I think it would be interesting to see their reaction to I AM HELL
Change Wolves with Darkness Within and we got ourselves a list.
One of my absolute favorite breakdowns. Great song.
This is one of the heaviest songs ever written. It's the first song I heard from them and it's still the best one. Saw them on their first tour in Sweden with Meshuggah and Mary Beats Jane. Drummer Chris Kontos threw a drumstick in the crowd and I caught it but was shoved by 50 people and dropped it. I ended up on the floor with ten people on top of me, when they got off me the drumstick laid there on my chest. After the show I met the band and Chris signed the drumstick.
Now do your duty and react to Emperor - Al svartr/Ye Entranemperium (yeah yeah yeah, intro needs to be played with the song)
This is machine heads best album period !!!
Yes
Through the ashes of empires ring a bell? Imperium says hi.
Does but it doesn't rule like Burn My Eyes
lol ... blackening.
kingoftherodeo87 nope , not even close
Imperium is another great tune by them, give it a listen
Hell yeah
Imperium is a journey through thrash metal.... Absolute masterful piece of music....
Hands down my favorite mh song!
Love you guys. I'm a 61 year old headbanger and I find your level of discussion a breath of fresh air. I would like to suggest a review of jinjir the lead singer has quite the vocal range. Pisces showcases her range. Thanks and keep up the good work.
We’ve done Pisces! Keep rockin
KanMan 57 I’m pushing for them to review more from her she’s a monster
KanMan 57 61 year headbanger? My respect sr
KanMan 57, they could've easily included another Jinjer song during Female singers' week, there were a lot of requests after they did Pisces, but oh, well... : |
KanMan 57 I just wanna see the look on their faces when Sit, Stay, Roll Over drops.
At some point, you guys should try some Fear Factory, the songs Replica or Self-Bias Resistor. Good vid as always.
I think H-K (Hunter-Killer) would be more accessible to them.
YES! Replica or Linchpin
CAN'T TAKE ME APART!!
they need to go back to the first album, and listen to "Scapegoat", and "Martyr"...(I like the remix version of "Scapegoat" from FEAR IS THE MINDKILLER better, though)...
Omega Weapon Putting in my vote for Zero Signal or Cyberwaste.
Iron Maiden - Rime of the ancient mariner. PIECE OF ART.
It’s been requested 1000 times.Still anxiously waiting
UP THE IRONS 🤘🤘
BreakThought yes
Sean Egglesden UP THE IRONS!
I agree
My favorite Machine Head song 🤘🏻
Literally that's their best
Halo by Machine Head, do the album version the official video is cut short by half the song
I love the description of the video 😜❤️
My old band used to cover this song during my drum days lol Good times!
YES! So glad you did this one.
I now recommend you try: Scar Symmetry - The Illusionist!
Michael Richards yes!!! Scar symmetry is great! Sad their old singer left he was damn gifted!
Off their first album, one of the greatest debut albums ever. \m/
Please do Machine Head [ Unto The Locust]
I have been waiting for you guys to do this, ooh yea!
My all time favorite Machine Head song! One of their best songs they ever made. Great song choice guys!!
Such a great album! Great reaction as always.
🤘
I'm glad you guys like the song
Awesome love this song and this album HEAVY as something that's super heavy. Keep up the good work chaps 😎
I have adopted the phrase "shout out to the big homie" for use in my everyday conversations now. All thanks to this channel. Your videos are great, guys. Entertaining, informative, and unique.
Just started following you guys and I love watching your reactions! This is definitely one of my absolute favorite songs from Machine Head, thank you for doing this one first. There's a lot of other songs below that people are commenting about which are also amazing, but I would love to see you guys do Darkness Within from them. Very heavy religious tones and how music can become a religion for so many people. Music has helped me through a lot of hard times times and Darkness Within gave me the chills the first time i heard and read the lyrics. They sum up that feeling so well. I think you guys would enjoy it. Keep doing what you guys are doing!!
You should also check out Imperium. One of their best songs.
Hell yeah
Yassss you have made my day one of my favorite songs ever thank you.
Jumped into the video as soon as it posted.
Great vid. Interesting conversation. Keep up the stellar work.
Keep it up you two. Love the vids
Awesome review guys as always, absolutely love this band another one of my favourites by them is "Ten Ton Hammer"
Battle Beast - Let it Roar 🤘
Between the buried and me- Ants of the sky
or White Walls
About time SOMEBODY reacted to this song... I've been trying to get someone to react to this song for fucking EVER!! THANK YOU!!
Suicidal Tendencies - How will I laugh tomorrow when I can't even smile today
Mike Roulette Institutionalised!
Vin, you went harder to " Reclaim My Place" than to this little lullaby..... lol!!!!
NICE reaction video!
And Sori's ears are right on point, the drummer on this album (and on this album alone), Chris Kontos, is some next level shit!
Machine head isn't bad on their later albums, in fact they have some songs that are fu**ing genious on albums made after this one - but Chris just took every song on Burn My Eyes and brought them to a new level. He didn't just keep a beat, he had his own set of notes, and made the drums a part of the melody!
I could listen to this album over and over again, just for those drums!
This song represents to me the burning of the Davidians, the madness of what we do to each other as humans and government enforcement in our civilization.
Machine head hallowed be thy name. One of the best covers ever
yeaaaaaaaaaah boyyyyyyyy
I couldn't agree more
Oh shit! Very surprised and happy to see this one.
Wow. Another great discussion...free-form, informed, and honest. Very refreshing, guys. Love it. Oh yeah, great song choice as well, lol. I love Machinehead...very underrated in my opinion. Musically, they have incorporated many different genres and elements into their music...one song on Unto the Locust (whose name escapes me at the moment) even incorporates Spanish Flamenco into the guitar. Very talented and diverse musicians.
Oh man I was i think 14 years old when I heard this song on MTVs Headbangers Ball, great! :) and now I feel old!
You guys are sooo cute. In this reaction video. With your red Bull and giving the middle finger during the song. Keep up the good work guys. Love the show
Vin doing Air Guitar is a thing of beauty..
What a groove and thrashing towards the end of the song!
Yesss!!!! Some machine head!
Early Machine Head is excellent. They've really jumped the shark lately though. Awesome song.
The first 2 cd, after that its garbage like the burning red
Suffer unto the Locusts and Through the Ashes of Empires were both pretty solid. Burning Red was definitely terrible.
The Blackening? Unto the Locust?
Even bloodstone and diamonds is amazing. The past album heavily disappointed me though
The Blackening is phenomenal!
Heaviest ever? Great song, with demolishing breakdown!!
RUSH - 2112
Cool! More of the good nineties stuff... I still remember "Burn my eyes" like the yesterday! Man, I just have to listen to that whole album again...
This album as a whole is incredible, so incredible that it has yet to be matched by them.
Vital Remains - Dechristianize!!!
Blakkheim Epic riffage
thanks, enjoyable vids.
Deftones - Passenger
The breakdown in this song is beautiful
Hell yeah love this song
This song is pure nostalgia for me. I saw the premiere on MTV. And I went to the local music store after school the following day to order the album. I just knew this would become huge.
(Thinking back, I probably had too much freedom as a kid. Headbangers ball was on until two a.m. on Sunday nights. And I freely wandered the city whenever I wanted. And I earned my own money long before I was old enough to work legally. The perfect recipe for dumb decisions)
The album is pure perfection. Machine Head had their up and downs. But they did get huge.
You could pick any song from this record for a video. I'm your god now is the soundtrack of my teens. Block (or Fuck it all. The actual chorus) was doomed to end up in huge letters on the back of a shirt. I think I got a long sleeve version. It was a great addition to my "piss off teachers wardrobe"
Fuck yeah, great song, I got to see this live and it was amazing. Thinking of that night makes me wish I had my long hair still. One of the best songs in terms of raw and heavy music.
Definitely check out Alkaloid-Carbon Phrases please, it's just as heavy as this in most parts of the 9 min master piece
"He's not the messiah! He's a very naughty boy" 😂😂😂
Quality review as per usual 🖖🖖
Finally, Davidian!
This song is my Opus, never fails to get me on the floor, that Ending Riff.....heaviest fucking riff Ever! It personifies Pure unadulterated Metal, Heavy Heavy Heavy!
Thank You for doing this!
Great reaction!
Draconian - The Morningstar. Name alone should interest you.
3:03 Chris Kontos is just a Beast of Burden!
You guys are covering a lot of what's on my phone for music
The breakdown at the end of this song, on the Hell Allive album is freaking explosive the drums are as close as I have heard to anyone sounding like the great one RIP Vinnie Paul Abbott. The drum beats are bombastic.
He's NOT the Messiah....he's a very naughty boy
6:45 soo appropriate hahaha. I'm always wired as shit on coffee (or 5) when blasting metal.
Finest debut album of all time.
Fear Factory !
These guys are amazing live, I saw them with biohazard and slayer
I remember one of the first times I heard this song i had my t.v. open in the background and it had a late night documentary and it was about Davidians and "Let freedom ring..." from the song synched it heard from the t.v. .....mind blowing!!!
The song Davidian of their debut album Burn My Eyes, features the lyrics "Let freedom ring / with a shotgun blast". Subsequently the video was banned from MTV (only in the U.S.A. region, the other MTV'S & other music channels in the world had great popularity the video) due to its release date being very soon after the Waco Siege which it was apparently describing. Robb Flynn has since said that the song was not written about the Waco Siege but added that line to get people thinking.
Heck yah happy to see you guys React to Machine Head! Hope to see more of it and maybe some Fear Factor also. Keep rocking guys 🎸👍
Awesome! One of my favorite bands and a very good reaction. More good songs are "Take my scars", "Ten Ton Hammer", "Imperium", "Season's Wither", "Aesthetics of Hate", "Now I lay Thee Down,", and so many more. Also you guys should check out some Vader, Fear Factory, Sepultura, Decapitated, Morbid Angel, and one of my old favorites, Pissing Razors doing "Dodging Bullets". I'll keep checking you guys out, good break down and I like to hear other views. You were right about the song being about the Waco siege as well, the entire album is written about real life struggles and events. I took this from the wikipedia page about the "Burn my Eyes" album:
"The songs make references to some certain well-publicized controversies such as the 1992 Los Angeles Riots (heard in dialogue on "Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies") and the Waco Siege of 1993 ("Davidian"). Elsewhere, there are tales of physical and mental abuse ("None But My Own," "The Rage to Overcome"), the condemning of profits from religious soliciting ("Death Church"), succumbing to substance abuse ("I'm Your God Now") and aforementioned themes of urban decay, social unrest, rebellion, belligerence, and socio-political commentary."
Good stuff!
You guys are the best at reaction vids, really irritates me when others constantly pause to “discuss”. Vin = the coolest guy, Sori = Dream Weaver 😉
I know this vid is a year old but the name of the band they got from deep purples "machine head" album with smoke on the water track. My favorite album as a kid growing up which got me pursuing metal 🤘
You should watch the show. Rory Caulkin, brother to Macaulay, is in it and plays the guy who actually wrote a book and lived with David Koresh during Waco... good little mini series!
Oh yea and pls do Architects haha
MORE MACHINEHEAD!!!!!!!!!
Rotting Christ "666"
Ps. The song is in Greek
Daniel Bautista Yes please!
They actually listened to it wow
Machine Head Totally Kick Ass. There a Metal Core Band from I believe Oakland, California. Robb Flynn voice is Awesome.
Groove Metal not Metalcore
I really like you guys! :) Thanks from a Metalhead :D
For the underground show. Either In De Naam Van De Duivel or The Possession Process by Carach Angren. They're a symphonic black metal band that writes their albums as horror stories. These two work as stand alone songs though. Think you guys will love em.
In De Naam Van De Duivel is dutch for In the name of the devil. The song is in english except the one line and don't worry it's not satanic enough for the blackfire. Think you guys'll enjoy the story. Also Carach Angren is elvish for Iron Jaws and is names after a pair of towers in Mordor.
And Babel's Gate by Septic Flesh. Symphonic Death metal and you'd get a kick out of the lyrics.
Also you guys need to do the whole of Damnation And A Day by Cradle Of Filth. Best Cradle album in my opinion and the album tells the story of Satan before his fall all the way to his defeat. Seeing how you guys dissect this stuff is amazing.
The end of this song is soooo fuck.... heavy! Beautiful
"Aesthetics of Hate" or "Imperium" next.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or darkness within it may bring a new level of conversation and discussion from Vin&Sori
cool commentary!
This song is so sick!
Need to check out Imperium, Darkness Within and Clenching the Fists of Dissent. Oh, and of course Aesthetics of Hate - given all the Dimebag/Pantera talk we've gotten into lately.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

am i the only one who needs the recipe for this "pickle sandwich" im familiar with lots of different culinary regional anomolies... but this one is new to me. Sori? please explain. lol. also, i remember when this came out i was a freshman in college and walked around with this album on my discman and REALLY feeling it. still do. thanks both of you.
My favorite Machine Head song - not that I know a lot more, but this is a great song! Personally I like the change in measurement in the outro, where it changes from 4/4 to 5/4.
About time you kiddos did some machine head, do “ghosts will haunt my bones”
This song is great
React to Architects - Broken Cross, Lamb of God - Blacken the Cursed Sun, or Amon Amarth - Slaves of Fear
Guardian Of Asgaard Architects!!!!
This album has some amazing sounding drums.
You guys make justice for metal comunity 🤘🙏
the last riff of this song was used 15300 times before... .and other riffs r 88% copy from this genre...if u can enjoy this song, then it clearly shows that u r not looking for creativity ... Looks like u just want to live in ur small world...Pls don't react to massive attack...
@@kumarlalit1999 because one riff is the only thing that matters in a song Lmao
Metal peaked right there. That was it.
LOVE THIS SONG. KICK ASS JAM. AND A COOL VIDEO TOO. MY FAVORITE SONG OFF THIS ALBUM
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
MACHINE HEAD 4. EVER.
Wow ! You guys are young ! I forget.
When that was new ,i saw them in Eindhoven and the slow-thing at the end was slow👍
Need to know what you think of Halo from Machine Head, for sure. I love that song. Fantastic discussion per usual.
Finally! I’m not saying you took your sweet time getting to Machine Head, but damn! 🤣
Hey Vin and Sori, can you guys please review whitechapel - bring me home
