Yo, this is Ricky Ruckus. Appreciate the shout out. Hopefully we can get you guys up here for an EMERGE event sometime. You can never go wrong with Machine Head btw...
Robb Flynn (vocals),and Phil Demmel (guitar) were in the band Vio-lence,back in the 80's, in the Bay Area. Robb's grandpa lived in the same little town that I grew up in,and Phil was born in the same hospital as my brother and I. The bass player that they have now, not the guy in the video, he had a band out of North Carolina, called Sanctity. He was the vocalist/guitarist. I think I saw Sanctity 3 or 4 shows in a row, opening for bigger band's at the old Masquerade.
My favorite band! They do amazing 3 hour concerts! Robb the lead singer has taken various paths with this band and as a die hard I appreciate trying to evolve but it doesn't always take well to the masses. Darkness within is their best video and show cases their "ballad" side mixed with some heaviness. I agree that you should do halo BUT NOT THE VIDEO. It cuts out a necessary part of the song. You want the 9 minute version.
Hell yeah. My favourite Machine Head song. One of the first 25 songs that got me into Metal. I remember falling asleep to it on the school bus in Grade 9 and onward, haha.
Other great Machine Head: "All Falls Down", "In the Presence of my Enemies", "This is the End", "Sail into the Black", "Eyes of the Dead", and "Descend the Shades of Night." Many, many more, but those are just some of my favorites that no one talks about.
Im glad youre into this band! This album "Through the ashes of empires" was kinda comeback from their alternative/nu metal period, but their next album "The Blackening"...guys..its absolute banger, one of the best albums of decade!
Such a MH classic tune! ironically, the bass player in the video is the "youngest" (born 1972), both guitarists were born in 1967 and the drummer is the oldest (born 1965), this song came out 9 years after Davidian, only singer / guitarist Rob Flynn and Adam (ex - bassist) can be seen in both videos!
Love machine Head and this song is a classic! You guys really should check out Sepultura, maybe something like Desperate cry or Territory. Will blow your socks off
Machine Head sure love them harmonics and pitch squeals on the guitar dont they ! Ive seen them live at least 5 times counting festivals . They always deliver !
MH's lineup has changed frequently over the years. Rob Flynn is the singer and started the band, it's his baby. They've tried all kinds of styles but at their best they are a thrash/grove metal band. But it's all subjective. Love all their stuff myself. You guys want to hear some rap/grove try their album 'The Burning Red.' There's great stuff on all their albums tho, most notable and one of the best Metal albums of all time is 'The Blackening.'
I've been dying to see you guys react to this one. One of the best metal songs ever, in my opinion. I knew you'd love it. "The Darkness Within" is another good one of you are planning on revisiting Machine Fkn Head. And yes...i would definitely put Machine Head in the big 10 of thrash metal. Even if the lead singer has gone a little radical for my taste over the last couple of years. They still throw a damn good live show. Every festival I've ever seen them perform at...Smokey will understand the term... curtain sellout P.S. - I'm pretty sure Taker called his submission finisher the "Last Rites"
Funnily enough band leader Rob Flynn used to be in a thrash metal band before Machine Head called Vio-Lence! If you want both a newer song by the band and an example of his rapping abilities you should check out the song Is Anybody Out There?
Amazing band, seeing you dig this means I know you'll love Nevermore! This godless endeavour or whatever else floats your boat, think this metal with a really heavy iron maiden style vocal
I could already see this..... Sixx: "Smodoogg" Smoke: Yea Sixx: "GET THE TABLES" Darkness Within by Machine Head is amazing. Robb Flynns vocal range is fire. Great video production like a movie. Guitars, bass and drums all fit well with whats on video. Amazing video and music. They derverse spot in big 10.
A goddamn masterpiece. And probably one of the riddles you struggled the most to get the title in your intro :) Give a listen to In Extremo - Poc vecem ( Live at Raue Spree)
I'm happy you guys got back to machine head...they are a amazing metal band... Hope you get back to Priest and I recommend painkiller.. I know the first track you heard was breaking the law and when you hear that track no one wants to listen to priest again inspite of it being on one of the influential tracks to turn metal into what it was in the 80's cause metal became catchy pop rock and was called metal... Painkiller was a comeback in the 90's which which started the influence of new metal...which happened 10 years later so they were 10 years ahead...
Do: Heavy Lies The Crown by them You won't regret it! I promise! Been your fan for the longest and is my first comment! I hope it gets heard! I keep watching and watching your videos often! Thank you!
Gotta ask for Sail Into The Black. Absolute fucking amazing track and one of the first ones that started my history of writing entire story ideas based off of songs and shit.
Hey there boys you got to check out the band DEVILDRIVER they make Machinehead look like child’s play & DevilDriver formed because of The legendary lead singer of chamber that wanted to go 10 times heavier than what Cole chamber had produced even though they were a great band and they still are but Dez had more to give to the metal gods and started His new hand picked musicians and started DevilDriver 12 years ago it hasn’t slow down yet meanwhile putting out albums left and right from coal chamber and DevilDriver so there’s a thick catalogue great music he’s Shared with all of us and I suggest you listen to the song (end of the line) 1st. That should set the tone but it’s up to you anything you’ve played by them is going to be fucking great. So Hollywood 6ix & smoke dog let’s do this. 👹🤘
You are correct, there's a different drummer and guitarist than was on the Burn My Eyes album (Davidian)... Drummer Chris Kontos was replaced by Dave McClain and guitartist Logan Mader was replaced by Phil Demmel. This is such a cool track that touches on so many different styles of metal.
Life of Agony is a band you guys need to check out. They're from Brooklyn. "River Runs Red" album ya'll would love. Another band that come out of the 90's on Roadrunner Records along with Machine Head, Biohazard, Fear Factory, Type O Negative, etc...
Seen Machine Head live twice, truly a powerhouse live. They r flawless. I seen them with Slipknot, and Machine Head almost stole the show, the arena erupted. Love this shit boys 🤘🤘
Finally... somebody reacting to my boys machine fucking head. I've not even watched it yet and your getting a thumbs up. I love machine head and Robb Flynn. Brilliant live and and anytime they are in the UK , I'm front and center. And for the record... Raven , Scott levy is my favourite wrestler. And of course god...Mick Foley. MFnH...🤘🤘🤘🤘
Machine Head wear their influences on their sleeve. Metallica? Yeah. Pantera? Sure. All in all, the band, and specifically Rob Flynn celebrates metal, and wants you to.
I have a suggestion to make based on the thrash question. THis is slightly later Machine head with a new lead guitarist. Nonetheless Machine Head are from the bay area. So they grew up watching metalica and exodus and all that thrash stuff. My suggestion is what is actually my favourite thrash song. I think it does it best. It's an early Machine head song called Struck a nerve. ua-cam.com/video/bO_m4zudg5g/v-deo.html
They’ve got a couple great covers that I know of. “Hallowed Be Thy Name” (Iron Maiden) is awesome and I’m not even a big Maiden fan at all. They cover Metallica’s “Battery” as well. I know they’ve gone through a bunch of lineup changes, but they’ve got so many bad as songs. They’re one of my top 5 favorite bands.
If you weren't there you wouldn't understand. Nmew drummer, less hardcore medloic, and really progressive (for the time). This song and Davidian are the true foundation of what makes Machine Head amazing. I've seen them more time than I can count, and there's a vbery good reason this is a house wrecker.
Machine Head is not a pure thrash band but more correctly labeled groove metal. The leader, singer/guitarist main song writer Rob Flynn did come from a late 80s/very early 90s thrash band Vio-lence, along with that young looking lead guitarist Phil Dimmel. But Machine Head incorporates the groove elements like Pantera and fit more in that genre. This album was from 2003 and was a return to form after a couple lesser regarded nu metal style albums. The album after this one The Blackening is their best.
Somebody made a parody version of this song on UA-cam, and it was absolutely brilliant. You will never hear the original lyrics ever again . It’s called interpretation of machine head imperium
Machine Head None But My Own is another good one to check out. Davidian was their first song that most people were introduced to. This is later down the line. Plus the drummer and guitarist are not part of the original band line up. Lead singers name is Robb Flynn.
Yeah Yeah Yeah Guys !!! This is one of my ultimate Evergreens ! A must have/listen in every Metalclub/disco or however you call this. This Song is a neckbreaker, but so wonderful from the rhytmic to headbang. Please listen to "Ten Ton Hammer" from Machine Head, you'll won't regret it. Lovely greets from germany
Machine Head I would say is one of the big four for 90s metal. Pantera, Machine Head, Fear Factory and Sepultura. All those bands really shaped metal in the 90s. I can’t say Korn, Rage or Tool because they really aren’t completely metal.
Can you please react to Wintersun - Time (TIME I Live Rehearsals At Sonic Pump Studios). Undertaker did a variation of the gogplata called 'Hell's Gate'. Vicki Guerrero banned the move for the safety of other wrestlers.
I fucken love this song and this band. MH got better into the 2000s. They started doing insanely good epics on the back of this. “Imperium” was a rebirth for the band after they virtually disbanded. This album started a golden run of modern metal classics. I would strongly suggest checking out: - I Am Hell - Clenching The Fists of Dissent - Game Over - Aesthetics of Hate (about a guy that wrote an article shit-canning Dimebag Darrell after his death) Get it man. This is one of the best metal bands of the current century. A word of warning though - they have phenomenal albums and they have a couple of duds.
They have a song called 'Aesthetics of Hate. It's based on a article written by a American journalist living in Germany after Dimebags dead. Check it out. Its Robb Flynns retaliation to the article of the same name
Machine Head rocks 🤘 you guys should react to some of their live music on UA-cam they did during the pandemic! They got back with their original drummer!! It was awesome!!!
A nice Left field suggestion, a band called Portishead, a song called Dummy. If you want to float away into the void and drift along the silent river until you reach the light, there is no better way. Peace
Robb Flynn is the vocalist/ guitarist and the other guitarist is Phil Demmel. They both played in the band Violence during the 80s. Violence never got the recognition of other bands so Rob left in the late 80s and formed Machinehead. Phil would join the band much later on and is no longer associated with the band, unless somethings changed recently.
You gotta check out their track Clenching the Fists of Dissent, off their album The Blackening. it is awe inspiring. whole album is really kind of their masterpiece. it is mindblowing.
The other day on live stream, you asked if any band was like Tool. People said Chevelle, and I said there was a weak version of Tool by the band named Earshot. Which in return everyone was like there is nobody like Tool. No crap, why would I use the word weak version? Tool is one of my favorite bands, have been listening to them since Opiate, and even before when they did a little with Green Jelly. Even listened to C.A.D. back in the day. I bought Undertow so many times, because someone was always stealing it. I am not like most people when it comes to music. Most people have their favorite band or subset of bands, but not many people listen to the wide variety of music I do. I have been studying music since I was a kid. I worked with A&R for a little while. Each year I would get a packet of all the type of bands they wanted for the next 5 years. I did online radio for about a decade, and talked with 100's of other DJ's from all over the world. Kind of like UA-cam, my first year or so I would get around 30 to 40 listeners, but by year 8 I was getting anywhere from 15 to 20 thousand listeners live. People seem to always ignore my request, and its been about 3 years of me trying to get people to do request. So, it's starting to seem pointless, but at the same time. I don't really share because I care if anyone reacts to a song or not. I do it for the people that make these videos and say they love music, I do it for their fans that read through the comments. I do it for other music lovers. I do it to keep good music alive. I made an large playlist of over 2000 artist, with one of their hit songs. It is in alphabet order by artist, which if you ever made a playlist on UA-cam its complicated to do that. There is a few artist that I forgot to add, but it's hard to add after the list is complete. Especially when dealing with over 2000 tracks. It took over 700 hours to complete this list. I went through over 8000 songs to find the right ones, that have some type of importance in the history of music. But I tried real hard to pick songs, most people don't react too. Because there is always that one song everyone forgets about. Maybe one day somebody will go through my list and react to them all. Because people that do that will really know music from the past century. Almost all genres from the past 100 years. Check these songs out, and react to them. If you are a reader of the comment sections, take this list and make a reaction channel of your own. I don't even care if anybody knows this list comes from me or not. I just want to share music, and for people to share music, because I am a lover of music. A-Z 2032 Artist with one hit song ua-cam.com/play/PLPpXqXEr01ubgZqC2WzgfmNwtEfNEUy2A.html
should scope out Robb Flynn (singer/guitarist) first band vio-lence. early thrash pioneers!! they were apart of the big 6 of bay area thrash metal. (exodus, testament, death angel, laaz rockit and forbidden.)
You guys would probably like Crashing Around You & Descend the shades of night. I saw Machine Head open up for Slayer & Megadeth Also, check out Liberate by Disturbed
Yo, this is Ricky Ruckus. Appreciate the shout out. Hopefully we can get you guys up here for an EMERGE event sometime.
You can never go wrong with Machine Head btw...
I look forward to it my friend. Would love to check out the talent
Absolutely, we would love to come check out an event. Thanks for the great suggestion. merch and all your support.
Great shirts man!
Halo and locust by these guys is absolutely awesome too!
But halo has to be the full version not the official video
Aye, Absolutely. they are both from one of their later albums... still sick as f...
Robb Flynn (vocals),and Phil Demmel (guitar) were in the band Vio-lence,back in the 80's, in the Bay Area. Machine Head are so damn good! One of the best live bands on the circuit.
I've seen them at Ozzfest & the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest, they do put on kick ass shows'!

For least talked about I reckon 'Wolves' deserves a spot
Eyes of the dead is nasty!!!
I advise you to listen to the first album and the 'the blackening'.
Other great Machinehead, all of them.
Im glad youre into this band! This album "Through the ashes of empires" was kinda comeback from their alternative/nu metal period, but their next album "The Blackening"...guys..its absolute banger, one of the best albums of decade!
The Blackening is a full on steam roller. That album pounds.
Adam and Kontos are my very good friends, bummer they are no longer in the band
Love machine Head and this song is a classic! You guys really should check out Sepultura, maybe something like Desperate cry or Territory. Will blow your socks off
Machine Head sure love them harmonics and pitch squeals on the guitar dont they ! Ive seen them live at least 5 times counting festivals . They always deliver !
You should check out anything off of "The Blackening", such as "Halo" to see more of their thrash side.
It's always awesome seeing hip hoppers and headbangers giving each other respect and admiration.
I’m from the East Bay Area, these guys are my very good friends
Aesthetics of Hate is another Machinehead banger! 🤘🤘🤘
Dimebag RIP 🤟🤟🤟
Davidian made me a metal head. This song brought it back.
I miss these guys. I saw them live with Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage.
Start with songs from Burn my eyes and the more things change! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
MH's lineup has changed frequently over the years. Rob Flynn is the singer and started the band, it's his baby. They've tried all kinds of styles but at their best they are a thrash/grove metal band. This comment says it all, I only want to add "Descend the Shades of Night". I think they will love that tune.
please react to aesthetics of hate by machine head!! the song is about dimebag darrell
I've been dying to see you guys react to this one. One of the best metal songs ever, in my opinion. I knew you'd love it.
"The Darkness Within" is another good one of you are planning on revisiting Machine Fkn Head.

P.S. - I'm pretty sure Taker called his submission finisher the "Last Rites"
Taker’s submission finisher was the hells gate :) the last ride was his power bomb move
Funnily enough band leader Rob Flynn used to be in a thrash metal band before Machine Head called Vio-Lence! If you want both a newer song by the band and an example of his rapping abilities you should check out the song Is Anybody Out There?
He doesn't rap in any MH songs, especially not the song you mentioned....
Amazing band, seeing you dig this means I know you'll love Nevermore! This godless endeavour or whatever else floats your boat, think this metal with a really heavy iron maiden style vocal
I could already see this.....
Sixx: "Smodoogg"
Smoke: Yea
Sixx: "GET THE TABLES"
Darkness Within by Machine Head is amazing. Robb Flynns vocal range is fire. Great video production like a movie. Guitars, bass and drums all fit well with whats on video. Amazing video and music. They derverse spot in big 10.
A goddamn masterpiece. And probably one of the riddles you struggled the most to get the title in your intro :)
Give a listen to In Extremo - Poc vecem ( Live at Raue Spree)
Dude, I'm 1000% for In Extremo:) Great underrated band.
Heaviest band of all time. Wolves and Beautiful Mourning

This is an undercover classic
Nostalgic
Do:
Heavy Lies The Crown by them
You won't regret it! I promise!
Been your fan for the longest and is my first comment! I hope it gets heard! I keep watching and watching your videos often! Thank you!

Carcass- "Keep on Rotting in the Free World"
My favorite band. 🤗 More Machine Head please 🙏. 🤘🖤
Check out Machine Head "Choke On The Ashes of Your Hate", it's heavy AF!
Great, great song! This and Aesthetics of Hate, whoa!
Gotta ask for Sail Into The Black. Absolute fucking amazing track and one of the first ones that started my history of writing entire story ideas based off of songs and shit.
The singer for machine head is rob Flynn he was originally in bay area thrash band vio-lence.
My buddy Dave McClain was their drummer. Such a humble and amazing dude. Wish I could say the same for Robb.
And I think it's cool that you can compare now a bunch of metal bands during your debates. Could you imagine it a couple of year back then?=)
The burning red is a good range check
I strongly agree. I will also add Devildriver - Pray for Villains.
Great band! Sylosis boys, it's time!
You guys should do some Machine Head songs from their Blackening album, which won Album of the Decade 2000-2010.
This is my gym song when I’m about to bench 250 on the incline. You should do darkness within or locust.
Fun fact about Machine Head: I’ve seen them live more than any other band. I love Machine Head.
Me too. I lost count. 🖤
They were one of the first I saw, and I got to meet and chat with all of them that night
Been a fan since 94, sad to see Phil and Dave leave

This song was so fuckin cool when it first came out. I had just about given up on them after Super Charger but this one reeled me back in.
"Sail into the Black" Pure epic.
For something really different by Machinehead check out the song Catharsis or Bastards.
They do a cover of "Message in a Bottle" from the Police and it's amazing!
He raps a lot in their 3rd album, the burning red

A guessing game for a word I don't know? Challenge ACCEPTED.
Love you guys just two high school bros living large 👌
Goddamn right
Big ten
🤘
They are nu metal. But rob Flynn was in thrash metal bands before. So that's why they have a lot of thrash in it.
Machine Head None But My Own is another good one to check out. Davidian was their first song that most people were introduced to. This is later down the line. Plus the drummer and guitarist are not part of the original band line up. Lead singers name is Robb Flynn.
Masterpiece.
the riff on red part of video clip is dedication for Iron Maiden (Rob said this in some interview)
I'm in the Ten Ton Hammer video...Berkeley, Ca.
Such a great MH jam.
You really need to do more Machine Head. Old, Ten Ton Hammer, Halo, and Now We Die just to name a few.
Machine Head I would say is one of the big four for 90s metal. Pantera, Machine Head, Fear Factory and Sepultura. All those bands really shaped metal in the 90s. I can’t say Korn, Rage or Tool because they really aren’t completely metal.

Get it man.
Davidian 1994 Imperium 2005. Their burning red album has rap in it
Machine Head rocks 🤘 you guys should react to some of their live music on UA-cam they did during the pandemic! They got back with their original drummer!! It was awesome!!!
Their cover of “SOS (message in a bottle)” is killer.
Asthetics of hate! Man. A Dime bag tribute from Machine Head> This track is the absolute shit!
A nice Left field suggestion, a band called Portishead, a song called Dummy. If you want to float away into the void and drift along the silent river until you reach the light, there is no better way. Peace
