Personally, I would switch number 1 and number 2 but I agree that they both need to be on the list. A while ago I suggested the best inversions/hangtime moments at Magic Mountain and I think this list proves why that video needs to be made. That park is chock full of amazing inversions that do everything from trying to rip your face off, trying to compress you into your seat, or holding you upside down to try to get you to fall. Some people may be airtime junkies, but I'm one for hangtime. Although I have my personal issues with Magic Mountain, I can't deny that I have the best home park to satisfy my preferences in coasters.
I think copperhead strike would have the most hangtime total if you added it all up. I love how it has several varieties of hangtime in the inversions as well as snappy inversions like that corkscrew following the first airtime hill. Copperhead was designed for hangtime but it is also well rounded out with many other elements like positives in the helixes and surprise airtime. I haven't ridden most of this list, but copperhead is my #1 fir hangtime currentlt. I need to get out to SMFF to see what these coasters are about!;
Front row of Copperhead Strike is one of the best front row rides I’ve experienced that’s not a Giga or Hyper. I was expecting stellar hangtime, but the airtime in the front row was very unexpected. I think it’s severely underrated due to people comparing it to Maverick before it opened.
Velocicoaster's zero-g stall followed up by the mosasaurus roll is my favorite way to get thrown from a roller coaster seat. I really want to ride ArieForce one. To see how that zero G stall is
Knowing his love of velocicoaster, I thought this would be on the list. I thought of Steel Curtain but knowing his dislike of it , I didn't think it would be on the list, lol.
The mosasaurus is more like upsidedown ejector airtime, getting thrown out of your seat as opposed to falling out of your seat (hangtime). It's still my favorite inversion ever, but I don't see it as hangtime.
RMC lap bars are great. Once you learn to keep them off of you during the ride. It's not hard either. I always get about the maximum air time all the way through steel vengeance.
Honorable mention for the barrel roll down drops on several RMCs if you are toward the front of the train. It's a really cool sensation going downhill with hang time.

Iron Gwazi's death roll is loved by most people, and it is a barrel roll down drop, but many people don't even realize that. Don't tell them, because then they won't like it anymore. On Twisted Cyclone, the exit of the double inversion is a small barrel roll down drop.
Full throttles loop has gotta be my favorite of all time, it’s right at the beginning so you get tons of room on the restraint and you hang there for forever
Magic Mountain definitely has some of the best inversions out there! Full Throttle was the perfect coaster for that park and that loop might be one of the craziest elements of all time
Another person chiming in to sing the praises of Copperhead Strike. That thing is just pure fun, I just got a few rides in today and it just doesn't get old. Praying that Carowinds has more Macks in their future
My number 1 is the first and last pass through the barrel roll on the Flash Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Just recently opened back up and even better then I remember.
I distinguish the 2 sensations of this list differently. I see hangtime as that feeling like you're falling out of the seat, but I view the zero-G stalls as upsidedown floater and not hangtime, since you don't quite reach that falling sensation. Both sensations are awesome though. For what I see as hangtime, Full Throttle's loop is my favorite moment, because of the size & amazing view. I did see it roll back once, while I was in the other train on the brake run. The best coasters for hangtime, with multiple quality moments, are (1) Monster & (2) Copperhead Strike.
I admit that I haven't ridden any of these (despite at least two of these being very close to home); the best I've done is the relatively benign "Impulse" at Knoebels ... but that one is also the first inverting coaster I ever got my daughter on, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I appreciate the placing of Monster and Goliath. SInce I have yet to visit the parks that have your top 3, those two are my current favorites I've experienced.
The only reason I would swap your #1 and #2 is because not only do you get that insane hang time on the Full Throttle loop but you get ANOTHER great moment of it on the backwards launch, if you sit in the back few rows of the train. Twisted's top gun stall beats both Full Throttle moments individually, but if considered together, then Full Throttle just barely takes the win in my book.
No B&M wings? Gatekeeper has a few moments and the second roll over the gates hits -.9g in the middle. I’d say that’s on par with banshee. X flight hits -1.2g in the seat rotating away from the rider in the in line twist and I would assume thunderbird is the same. Not sure where they’d place, but at least an honorable mention.
My favorite hangtime moment is actually not in America. It’s Altair’s (10 inversion coaster) quad heartline roll, which is nauseating even for me, a veteran thoosie
Having ridden the top 3 I don’t think there’s a wrong order. Personally I have cannibal #1 because of the change of direction while upside down and how sustained it is
The last zero g roll on Wicked Cyclone will always stand out to me since it feels like you’re twisting forever in the air despite the fact that you’re still going pretty fast depending on the day
Canninal's Lagoon Roll is an excellent element. Since Lagoon is my home park, I have experienced it multiple times. I have also ridden Superman at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and experienced its Zero G Roll.
Id wager that Outlaw Run has some good hang time on not only the Double Barrel Roll finale, but the first inversion gives a small bit of hanging in the middle rows. I've never experienced a stall or jojo roll but id assume those beat it out relatively easy for hangtime haha. But OR's finale is crazy for hanging on a wooden coaster
Yes, that double barrel roll should've made the list. Row 11, right seat for the best hangtime, confirmed to me by the ride ops. Zero-G stalls don't actually give hangtime. You're floating through them as opposed to feeling like you're falling out. It's still awesome, and I prefer that to hangtime, but it's not hangtime.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan Ive always been a fan of row 11 left side for the whip going into the first inversion and coming out of it. Hitting that low banked turn so quick after the inversion is insane! Theres really no bad spots on Outlaw except wheel seats and even then it is bare-able. Although when it was brand new there was not a single bad seat
You'd think Afterburn, the Jet Coaster would have the Top Gun Stall. Also supposedly, the Seaworld Skyrocket 2s are losing the comfort collars this year. According to rumors I've heard on Reddit.
The one of these I have actually experienced is Phobia Phear Coaster's high-altitude roll. It's nice. It scares the crap out of bystanders looking at the ride from the ground. The various Eurofighter 320/320+ coasters have a couple of nice moments: the vertical loop (which seems almost as tall as the lift) and the roll both have a lot of hangtime.
Best hangtime I've ever experienced has to be on Sik at Flamingo Land 5 back to back Heartline Rolls with an Intamin lap bar is absolute insanity, also a shout out to the Inline Twist on Icon at Blackpool which is enhanced even further with that spinning back car!

Also thought Mystery Mine had the worst restraints for hangtime. Yes, it was strong, but it hurt, even more than, say, hangtime on coasters with comfort collars, vest restraints, or even Anaconda’s.

Yes this is a great list, and I was looking forward to it as a hangtime enthusiast. I would probably give an honorable mention to the inline twist on thunderbird. I go back and forth between your 1 and 2 because full throttles loop is one of my favorite elements of all time but I prefer the overall ride of twisted colossus and the top gun stall is my favorite part of it.
When the animated POV of Twisted Colossus came out I had to rewatch the stall moment over and over to check that what I thought I was seeing was true. And then actually being on it was even better (though I think of it as looking "up" when in the stall to see the train underneath, or above, or whatever). But I do think it's odd it took so long to get coasters to do inversions and hangtime stalls when fairground flat rides had been doing them for decades even before the first modern coaster inversions in the 1970s.
I've only ridden 49 coasters, but my top 3 hang time moments all reside in the same park. Superman and Joker were already mentioned, but I also want to add V2. In the front, you get two moments of awesome hangtime
I think Viper should’ve been replaced with Anaconda @ KD… the ride seems to have been designed to craaawl through those corkscrews, much slower than Viper
Believe it or Not I think since Hydra And Copperhead Strike Have the Jojo roll out of the Station those two have the best hang time moments in the entire country maybe even the world but Tmnt Shell Raiser’s First and Only Barrel roll before that Launch And That First inversion after it what I consider hangtime heaven because a Corkscrew That Large inside a Big Mall Like That is insane and I am sure it was even crazier when The Original Tabisha Opened At Fuji Q It Was even crazier back then too because no one ever saw a Corkscrew that Drawn Out and High off the Ground I think Like Ever because when people think Of Corkscrews They Think small But Whippy And A Little Floaty and Hangy Major Lol😅😅😅😮😮😮😂😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

I had zero shake over mother's day weekend. Rode it marathon style for about an hour (7-8 times I think). Total blast of a ride!

west coast racers got snubbed… it has my favorite stall in the park and all the corkscrews give very solid hangtime
