This is what you get when you have A generation of kids who have never been exposed to rock music of any kind, and where they think female-driven pop music is the only kind of music there is. We rock/metal lovers love the genre for the instrumentation just as much as anything else. The vocals are just an afterthought sometimes.
Teens would probably like Hip-hop more. I hate the genre so much that I am trying to desensitize myself to it. I am a teenager myself, and I see how much this genre is tainting everything. I think it needs to stop.
Also, a double chin piercing is “edgy” and a headshot of the LEAD SINGER DURING A VERSE is “showing it off”?! These kids seem a bit stuck up these days, don’t you all think?
Great thing about Disturbed is, they are the nicest guys you will ever meet. Always left huge tips at the Olive Garden I worked at. I knew them through the music scene in Chicago, and they practiced at the same place many of my friends did. Fun fact, that place got robbed when Disturbed first started hitting it big, and they helped the other bands in that space get new music equipment.
I agree. The first time I heard of this band was in 2017 (yes, I’m a post sound of silence fan, so sue me, lol 😂), and naturally I went on UA-cam to check them out. I saw loads of videos of David going off on some audience or being generally angry, also in pictures. “Wow, wouldn’t want to meet that guy in a dark alley.” Was all I could think. Well, fast forward to 2019, when they gave a concert in Amsterdam and I managed to score meet and greet tickets…wow! What an experience that was… they were so down to earth, so sweet and nice and nothing like I’d imagined before meeting them. They’re just a bunch of fluffy, squishy, adorable jellybeans ♥️🥰❤️.

Kids weren't a good choice for disturbed, they don't understand half of what they see and none of them could fathom how amazing the lead singers voice is and how great the band is.
8:37 - listen kid, I'm a theater nerd. And i still love Disturbed. In fact, Disturbed opened me up to better metal which opened me up to meaningful lyrics which helped inspire me to listen to musicals.. and not just watch/listen to them, but to ACTUALLY listen to them. To understand them and become emotionally invested in their stories and vocal sensations. So hard rock/metal, in fact, leads to love of theater in a lot of people.
The fact that you also consider Slipknot "generic" shows your level of intelligence about music. Those 2 bands are far from generic. You want generic metal look at Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, three days grace. All there albums are the same. Disturbed, on the other hand, always comes from left field with something.
I first heard Breaking Benjamin and Linkin Park when I was like 6 or 7. Whenever i was 12 or 13 I started listening to Slipknot, System of a Down, Metallica, Pantera, Whitechapel. Now I am 15 listening to All previous bands I listed and now including Korn, Silent Planet, and some Christian metalcore and deathcore bands. My brothers definitely influenced my music taste, and metal/rock is such a good outlet for me, and I will never regret listening to the music that I now listen to, despite what my peers say at my school.
I love the kid in blue, he gets it. I respect the kids who say that they respect people who do like it. Also the kid who said that the videos were cheesy, do you see the pop music videos.
This newer generation is softer than chocolate pudding, when I was these kids age I was listening to not only Disturbed but also the likes of Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Static-X...and Insane Clown Posse
I'm just making a statement, I'm a 90's baby and not only did I myself listen to the aforementioned bands but most of my friends and classmates listened to them as well, it was either these bands or they where into post punk, Less Than Jake, Pennywise, NOFX etc., and now today it seems like every kid and millenial listens to that monotonous, dull and simplistic hip hop music or that Drake or Tay Tay sissy music...meaning this generation is soft, chocolate pudding soft

having just discovered this band at age 50, I had every sentiment these kids had at some point. Ultimately, I love this band, their sound and if I'm being honest, I get all giddy when I hear David growl.

I can't help but feel half of these kids are either told to act this way, or think it's cool to not think about things. That's just something that bothers me. People never actually think, or analyze anything.
I’m 13, my dad has showed me bands like disturbed and chevelle, and wow! They are amazing! I’ve been a fan for a year or two now. That jake kid is a legend.
