Playing league is like smoking. Every person that actually does is going to tell you that you should never do it because of how bad it is and then proceed to smoke a full box in front of you
Such a viscious cycle of playing to feed a fragile ego. League is a game like any other, but people play it for the wrong reasons and let their performance in it determine how they feel about themselves.🙏 Let's pray for those lost souls
I still remember this one guy I met when I was a new player trying renekton. They were on darius and could have EASILY stomped me but instead they sat with me through the lane and taught me some b&b combos, item building, csing and whatnot, and then he went on to kill my entire team.
I started not long after beta met a guy who ended up being a great friend for years he walked me though lane and items then proceeded to kill me 25 times in an 80 min game it was great lol
I've been a player for 13 years. The way this game is designed and from what I can infer from Riot's interactios with players about their policites - it's not that it's a marketing strategy, but it's a strategy to make people locked into the game and spend more money. They already have a huge playerbase, they don't really need to do much marketing to increase their profits.
@@galgrunfeld9954 That is a marketing that works only for play to win games. This game makes money because it was the first free game and it used to run on potatoes (not anymore now couse of Vanguard, they instantly lost half their player base)
It more of a "give me more money" strategy . The game is purposefully rigged awfully especially against new and fun players irrespective of what riot and the boot lickers on reddit say.
@@jadoniccryon5898 But yes the game is mega rigged, people used to be payed to get intentionally banned a few years ago. 50 dollars. I think it is a full payed job now and it is a part of the business intelligence.
Playing lol is like learning to drive. Yes, driving the car itself is easy to do. But the joke begins when you realize that you must learn the traffic rules, learn the signs, be attentive to what the car in front of you is doing, the one behind you, the sides, other streets, the pedestrians... And it ends up being chaos, but when you manage to automate all those processes... It's the most addictive shit you can ever know.
And sometimes you get cut off by someone who has no idea what they're doing and they flame you for it. As you're both honking your horns at eachother like mad men. Kind of like the noose ping. If that's still a thing.
I literally said the same thing, watching tutorial videos about wards and whatnot and all the terminology is so few and far between it felt a lot like driving school all over again
@@emanueldehner7882 Pardon, you wrote "addictive", not "fun"; but driving is not addictive either so the point still stands (unless you count being reliant on a car as addiction). I used to have fun playing league with the right approach to it, but that's besides the point.
As someone who started playing about a year ago, this video is so funny and relatable. Starting to feel like you found your champ then immediately getting shit on is canon
the thing with league is, you get so deprived of dopamine while playing, that when the game puts you on a match against ppl worst than you, you get so much dopamine compared to before, that you want to continue playing to feel like that again and again in an endless cycle. i would know, as a league addict (no, i'm not proud of myself).
For me, this is total opposite. Total stomp/flawless victory feels as bad. Both are boring type of games and that's why I love balanced games, I don't understand people who have serious mental issues(yelling kys at chat etc) and they should quit and get help. I play any game(multiplayer or singeplayer) for my own enjoyment. If I start to feel too bad, I usually take a breaks from multiplayer games. But I've played league 5 years now and I still enjoy it. Not trying to get rank, that's another level of salt mine. But in my opinion, if any game makes you feel miserable, stop playing it. Easier said than done, but games are form of entertainment. Life makes us suffer enough and entertainment should be balance for that
Here is why we, league veterans, play the game, we almost expect exactly whats gonna happen every game, but once in a blue moon you get that one team that plays like a pro team, and it feels euphoric. Its like edging.
For me it is all about the early game. I played passive Quinn top and wait enemy to overcommit. They want that dopamine hit so hard that they will turret dive you and flame jungler for not ganking. Also constant poking feels so demoralizing that they are willing to donate the win for me, I guess 🤣
@@SiroitinBe Quinn IRL, then use your ult, soar up to the sky, use your ult again. So my fellow top laners can feel a little dopamine hit after their long shift..
@@RickofUniverseC-137 I haven't played League for a while but in Dota 2 you can't surrender so if you are losing, you just have to stall the game and make the enemy team tilted. I was top 500 Quinn players for a week but it isn't worth it because teammates don't want to strategize. They want brainless ARAM.
As a longtime (now former) League player, I often compare to the game to being in an abusive relationship; it hurts, you hate it, and you know there's nothing but suffering. But you keep coming back, despite wanting to leave.
You understood how a league player thought in the first 5 minutes of this video when you had that 15 and 9 Gwen game. Everyone had that one game they popped off in and they've been chasing that high ever since. Since 2015 o7
Me when I carried as mordekaiser where my whole team when negative and I 1v9 the lobby going 24-3-10. Then when they pushed my team I back door tpd and soloed the nexus
Just in case anyone feels the same as u and bothers to read this: If you actually want to experience that high without an endless meaningless grind, look into improving your fundamentals in the game. There are some great tutorials like the ones skill capped challenger channel does where they teach you wave management, trading, powerspikes, objective control and so on. If you have solid knowledge of the fundamentals and got the combos of your champ down in the practice tool, you will frequently have games where you are the one carrying, even if you are not mechanically any good, because most people don't bother learning and they just smash their heads against the brick wall.
my favourite part of this video as an experienced player is how random the CS numbers look at any given time, it's like any farming that happens is an accidental byproduct of throwing abilities at the enemy champ
that and the complete sitting still after rightclicking enemy champ. my eyes were bleeding but its like looking at a baby cobra.... cute as hell watching them fumble around but you know theyre gonna grow up to be toxic af
@@SETHthegodofchaos Right? Like how do you not tell somebody they get gold only if they are the ones who finish the minion? This is one of the most important things in the game...
@@karolbielen2090 i guess it makes it easier to come into the lane and steal the whole wave without any complains 🤣 While we are at it. He kept complaining about the enemy being under their turret. That would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce him to minion management. Especially when playing in top lane. Absolutely criminal not to mention that. I might be expecting too much from the friends tho. They might just not know any better either.
The worst thing in League as a new player (Ive been playing like 9 months) is when you are beating the other team and they surrender. Sometimes I want to purposefully feed to keep their hopes up. I prefer balanced matches where both teams are doing well and have moments.
I just keep finding that and pretty much any game. When you're doing so well that you're literally beating their yams they want to give up, which sucks. But if you suck too bad yourself then your team wants to give up. So it's just a flop side
23:17 Blue Kayn is definitely something to behold for the first time. I can’t imagine learning league of legends now with all of this stuff already in the game
its crazy that riot expects new players to learn the game with a bunch of smurfs that are only playing norms and quickplay to end their ranked suspension.
@@jdogsfulAlmost nobody smurfs quick play or norms except to level accounts or penalty games in order to get back to ranked. The restrictions Riot puts on ranked level 30 requirement means that norms games get hit as collateral for ranked smurfs.
@@spiderhaz_ yeah but because I'm lower level and primarily playing quickplays it means a decent portion of my games will que me with these supposed "new players" who are actually just smurfs unfortunately
I watch LCS and LCK matches. Its fun to watch! I've seen enough to know soloQ would be an absolutely miserable experience and have never downloaded the game.
This is exactly how I feel every time I watch a video with league gameplay. As an ex-player I've learned that league is never as fun as it looks, yet there's still something at the back of my mind that keeps saying "but maybe this time it will". I haven't played in 5 years
That's how this game hooks you. It gives you a couple games against low-level players (or bots). Then once you feel good about it, it puts you up against someone who knows what they're doing. Then when you feel like quitting you get another easy match.
The thing about league is that it is a deeply human experience. The developers make mistakes, they pick favorites that bypass the need for balance, they’re out of touch sometimes with the player base, but also sometimes they’re right on the money. They sometimes know exactly what people want and deliver on it, they sometimes hit some numbers perfectly and the thing they’re balancing feels great, and sometimes they add things that truly feel super fresh and engaging. Your teammates are the same, sometimes you’ll feel like they’re subhuman dogshit and sometimes they’ll restore your faith in the human ability to cooperate and reach a team that’s greater than the sum of its parts. You can make friends that will span years, you can practice and grow and climb the ladder to become something truly respectable in the community, you can teach young people and watch them grow, it really is a good window to view humanity through. That kind of microcosm is pretty cool, and just like real life, if you can be strong and stay above the rivers of shit that the worst people on earth will try to pull you into, you can have a really special and meaningful experience playing this game. When people say league sucks, what they mean is that the community sucks and the devs suck and it ruins the experience for them, but everything in life is like that. When you look for the bad you’ll always find it, if you focus on it too much you’ll see only the bad, but if you look for the good you’ll find it, because sometimes the devs and community can be really awesome. If you’re relentlessly as awesome as you can be it will return to you, and thank you for attending my TEDx yap 😄
Man, this made me realize I never really try hard enough to experience the Battle Royales and Extraction games. I just despise their learning curve, but you worked so hard here that it almost made me want to try the genres I usually don't like. As an usual League player, I mostly only play it to autopilot with music because I already know how to play and want something kinda input-heavy to vibe with, but I seriously wouldn't bother learning the ropes a second time around.
"Since that one game, it's been 7 games of pure AGONY but I found myself having fun so I keep playing." That's it, that's the drug. You're already addicted.
The reason I enjoy League is because there's a lot of depth to the game. I have been playing for 4 years now and there's always something to learn and improve at. That's also the reason why so many people hate the game. It's overwhelming for people who just want to casually play a MOBA. When you throw 10 League noobs in a match everyone is stressed and overwhelmed and no body wants to be the reason they lost so they start flaming each other. When people start focusing less on who lost them the game, but what they could have done better as an individual, it's a lot less tilting to lose when losses are good learning opportunities. When people anchor their feeling to the outcome of the game and engage with the negativity of others, it's no wonder people feel so negative about the game. They don't have a focused and productive mindset from the beginning. So many people have the mindset that they deserve to win, not that the better team will win. People don't deserve the better team every game. They must play well enough that they are the difference maker between a win or loss.
I find the learning of different characters and the gameplay the most fun and enjoyable part, finding characters I like and figuring out their kits and winning with them feels amazing.
I also really enjoy playing league. Its my number two multiplayer game (my number one is battlefront 2 2018 after all the drama). One of the most enjoyable moments i had was when i was playing with sett in a 4 v 5 and i was able to direct the team to victory. Giving the right calls, warning them of anything that could possibly happen and then the team made it all worth it when in the finale of the game they saved me. Because of that we were able to take elder dragon because i did so much damage to two enemies of the enemy team they needed to go base so by then it was a 5v3 and then we finished the game.
@@Fiddlefiddle5000-qv1ly Exact same thing here, Sett in a 4v5. It's a bummer the guy didn't try Sett in his video, he's so easy to play and understand but has so much depth as to when and how to use W and Ult to make the most out of his BONKERS damage.
A bit disappointing when you find out this is the game Arcane is based on huh? They don't even have a proper tutorial. Their tutorial tells you to just go down a lane, use abilities, and smash their towers. You run all over the bots since they barely fight back, and you win. Then you start your first game and and it's just "good luck. Hope you remember what to do. Now you have to go down this lane, because that's the character you picked. You're a support by the way. Enjoy!"
The tutorial teaches the basics of macro and mechanics. 😂 it doesn’t straight up say it but watch what the bots do. Fundamentally they make the correct decisions they just don’t have the map awareness to leave a push at good timings 😂 sounds stupid but it’s true. They also push out the correct lanes for the most part. They just tunnel vision on forward.
@@BloodyVisualKeiJoker The tutorial just tells you to run down any lane, and try your abilities. The AI runs at you, and sort of fights back, but they're really easy to outplay. You smash the towers, and that's it. They don't even explain what roles/lanes there are. They don't tell you what the goal is other than "See that nexus? That things gotta go!". The tutorial could at the very least show the map and for 30 seconds point some stuff out. The stuff that's in the river is pretty important.
Couple Gwen tips: - Use your ult between other abilities, don’t use all 3 in a row - use your W when running away from enemies - use E to dodge abilities - you don’t need to kill them every battle, just get them low enough so you can zone them from farming - freeze the wave on your side
I'm glad you're having fun with League. You approached the game the right way in my opinion. Playing different champs and trying to get them to click is fun, and a great way of learning. Also at 39:44 nice use of Stasis. It takes most players a very long time to start incorporating active items into their gameplay so it's cool to see you pick it up so quickly 👌
zhonyas seems to click in my head cause I go oh fuck I'm gonna die: save me button, but holy fuck the tiamat items never get used lmao I forget every single time without a doubt.
When I tried it in 2021 and barely even wanted to learn I was awful, I vividly remember losing to bots and quitting. But, after coming back it didn't take too many games for me to actually understand how to move and attack and not die under tower, still, there is SO much to learn. I don't know if I'll do more videos in the future, I'm not opposed and have been loving playing it so just depends on how well the video is received. I appreciate the compliment and glad you enjoyed it :)
Fun vid to watch, and yeah there's a ton to learn. One reason I love league is that there's always some aspect you can improve on or some concept to learn about. At the beginning you're just worried about attacking the enemy and not dying but then that becomes second nature so you start actively csing. Then that's second nature and now you're doing stuff like learning wave management and level up timers. It feels good to learn new mechanics and apply them.
We do enjoy it. It's just the toxic inters that don't. I love league and ever since I switched my mentality and stopped being toxic, focused on nothing but improvement and myself, now I have honor level 3 and got up to diamond, previously being toxic 7 years ago I maxed gold. And my micro was actually BETTER back then. So it's proof that mindset 100% is the deciding factor to if you can rank up or not
If you want, here are some of your mistakes : (First : 11:00 No, you are not so bad. That normal to make mistake. First of all, you need to understand what is a mistake, and why it is ... because sometime, you will take bad trade without knowing it is, and will ask yourself "why i am losing?/ in such a bad position?" ... i mean, litteraly everyone had this problem one day.) Game 1 : you don't seem to use "lvl up timer". This small ammount of time when you have lvl2 and not your opponent. 7:11 You used your Q without stacking the purple bar. This is your principal damage. 7:37 Don't worry, if you crash your wave (put it under tower), you have some free time, so you can recall, and get health or/and item advantage. 8:29 You buyed 2 potions. By buying refillable potion (150G instead of 100G) you can use thoses 2 potions multiples times. And bad CSing (you need to last hit creep) That mean you don't have much money, and you spend that money on potion. Game 2 : 8:57 Was a great instant trade timing. Q on him and the wave would make his wave bounce back to you, while he will be low. (by putting your wave under tower) 9:05 Now you will remember that stay pushed too long isn't good. Should crash and base. 9:29 Good Q ! But look at his wave, the creeps gonna make so much damages ... don't trade with such a big wave. After that you landed good Q. GG ! 10:10 Another tips. The "4" let you put some wards. Use it in the bush in the river, so you can see the jungler few seconds before he attacks. Game 3 : 11:39 When the wave is pushing in to you like that, just let it come. That will be harder for your opponent to play under your tower. + We can see morde already used a potion, not you. use your potions before getting too low for him to E Q you. 11:45 Ctrl+Q/W/E/R let you level up your Q/W/E/R. That would have helped you. (but GG nonetheless) 11:53 Good idea, let's be honnest ! ... but you should have keep E to escape. Put yourself at the edge of your Q, and back directly (use E if you sense he would try to E you) (note : not to kill him, but just cancel is recall) Game 4 : 14:24 Really good trade ! Your opponnent is forced to recall, you have to crash to deny some gold and XP and recall yourself. You would only lose like 1/2 creep or something. 15:27 press Q dude ! 16:24 You needed to take the creeps i think. (if this reset and not bounce back, you had your tp ... but the opponent should try to push so you surely would be fine.) Game 5 : 19:00 See how the wave is damaging you? That why you shoudn't attack when he slowpushing (well, or stop when you don't have any burst anymore.) Game 6 : 22:21 You are very low and have TP, she is full HP. Sorry but you need to abandon the xp from two creeps and base tp. 22:34 Should have pushed to deny her the gold and XP. Hope this could help you.
I recently started playing League too. This will be my second year now. It’s genuinely a fun game but man when you are doing bad the “mental boom” as my group calls makes you feel like you’re just useless. Then other games you actually do good or sometimes amazing and it helps balance out. At the end remember it’s just a game and enjoy the good experience of it
I have fun by OTP-ing Samira. If samira is banned, it is no longer as fun, can still be fun as I play jhin, jhin gone too, i become sad. (Gragas if i play any other role outside of adc, gragas always fun)
the real answer is, if you just ignore your teammates, and run it down whenever you feel like your team doesn't deserve the win plus your effort, its actually decently fun. Like, instead of stressing about covering up for my team's misplays, ints and all of their nonstop feeding and stuff, i just run it down and watch them boil in rage thinking if i haven't ran it down we could've won, in reality the outcome of the game was obvious 10-15 minutes ago.
Been playing for over 5 years at this point and I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be to pick up League now as a new player. There are so many champs that I didn't have to learn at once and game strategy has evolved so much over the years. That said, as someone who played competitive sports as a younger lad, the skill expression, value of game knowledge and competitiveness is really rewarding.
This is fascinating to watch, its almost nostalgic in a way. There was barely any games where either team actually killed the nexus, the plays were random and reactive. But honestly It looked like a lot of fun playing league this way, no sweat, no meta just stay in your lane and bash your head against your opponent and complain about the enemy jungler. I've played this game for too long man. This was honestly refreshing
Well I'm glad to have given you a new perspective lmao. I found it pretty fun but I do fear that I'll start to hate it if I try to actually get good at the game. I guess time will tell.
@@MilkManSteve Lol well more like reminded me of an old one from 8 years ago. I think you might still enjoy it, league is about having the right mindset while you play it for me. Its far too easy to get frustrated at things you cant control or perceived mistakes you or others make. Just gotta relax and enjoy yourself, its a game after all
@@astroul4188 right? It's always really fun to watch a new player get into league, vibes similar to back when older players started and there wasn't a huge attachment to the outcomes in the game or the balance or anything, being a long term ranked player makes it really hard to disconnect from that competitive aspect and it's not really possible to go back in and have that fresh new player experience again, but being able to reconnect to it vicariously was nice, and to any new players just because someone else doesn't enjoy the game anymore doesn't mean you have to let that affect your enjoyment of it get what you want/can out of league
League is like a drug addiction, you wanna quit, you wanna give up, but you always find yourself playing it again dispite the emotional damage it causes
For a new player, you did a lot better than a lot of people starting out league! I'm glad you had fun, when I first started I didn't understand roles, didn't know how to build items (there was no recommendations in the shop), have runes (You had to buy them), and a whole lot of other things on top of all that you were confused about. League, despite having more champions, has become a lot more new player friendly. I still miss my 1% crit rune. 😭
My start into League was the most brutal one you can imagine. That's because I started playing League alone. I literally got to a "normal" level completely on my own. I didn't start to play with others until I already knew how to play League, have had multiple mains and a role that I played most often. I literally played alone for around half a year. And my irl friends never played it. They never wanted to play it. The people with whom I played the game, were all people from online. I never met them. There is only one guy, that I actually met irl after playing League with them. But they barely play it anymore💀
Depending on the role that is actually hell or just lonely. If I had to play bot lane alone I would go insane after 10 games. Top lane, well you're gonna be alone no matter what, it kinda is what it is. If you were able to handle half a year of solo league though your mental is stronger than any of us can imagine and you are probably better for it.
That's my road too. I started playing league on my own. I played coop vs bots until I got to level 30. I had my own meta on how to play and everything in a coop vs bot game. Then I eventually thought I was good enough to play normal games. Building armor items on adc's so I wouldn't die and ad items on ap champs to basic attack harder so I could do more damage or push waves. :) Good times. As long as I won the game, I was doing it right regardless of how mad my allies got. I had a few irl people that played league but they all quit except one guy that's insanely addicted to league. All he does is work and play league. It's really bad. He's a whale. I kind of feel bad for mentioning league to him. I think he was so addicted he even bought champions even though I and another friend warned him not to spend money on champions, only skins. Even then, I'm like he can use the free system to eventually acquire skins or champions but he doesn't want to wait. One of my friends moved to Europe and I made a EUW account to play with him but eventually he stopped playing too. :( I decided to make an account in NA, LAN, and EUW.
Ha, it was the other way around for me. Played for like 2 matches, was then invited by some friends I just met... and they started flaming me in teamspeak because I had obviously no idea what I was doing and they were already more experienced. Great experience I tell you! That was 2009. That tought me quickly that this game wasnt best played with toxic people... or friends even. I dont want to know how many friendships were destroyed over this game xD So I mostly played alone after that. Got D5 in S4, after only having been gold or below the prior seasons. Game clicked. That felt great. A high that I wouldnt be able to reproduce. I knew I peaked. Quit in 2016. Returned a few years ago because of the fun game modes like arena. But you get so quickly sucked back in, it is scary how addicting and frustrating the game is. But the worst part was and still is the teammates that end up tilting and intentionally stop playing the game (or at least stop trying). That is always the most tilting which made me quit and not want to return. People actively want to lose at some point because they cant conceive of a way to come back (or dont want to put in the effort). It was worse in the early seasons where games were longer, but these games are still is a waste of time now (and seems to occur more often these days because well the games ARE shorter anyways). I could care less if they played bad while trying their best. But giving up is the worst. Tilts me to no end. So best to stay away and be productive in life.
@@MilkManSteve yeah but even that can be a fun sort of challenge in itself. As a suppport main, climbing almost completely solo to Diamond (a couple years back, I haven't tried going above Gold in years, I'm just here for the free rewards now lol - and I haven't got placed lower than Gold since season 4), it feels so great to impact your lane and essentially boost your carry to take over the game; it felt genuinely good to have rando adcs enjoy laning with me. In a way, I wish I'd still have that resolve, but I'm kidna old to keep grinding LoL.
Been playing the game for 11 years and I'm 21, more then half my life. But I don't regret it, made a lot of good online and real life friends through it that I wouldn't have met otherwise. Helps to be experienced at the game, but if you're not soloqing, play with 4 friends at a similar skill level or people nice enough to not kill you for being worse than them.
@@MilkManSteve Customs and Armature teams of 5 or flex is the most fun you can have playing League with out a doubt. I do enjoy the grind of soloq a bit but I recommend just turning chat off and knowing that you're gonna lose at least 1 in 20 games to an afk, soft int, or some other bullshit.
ahhh the first double-digit kills in a league game are quite the memorable moment, just shy of your first pentakill. on the opposite end of the stick we also have your first pre 10 rage quit
Playing league as a new player is brutal, the learning curve is incredibly steep, and a lot of information just straight out is not given to you. Here are a few key tips: 1. Top lane and jungle are hell for new players. Top lane gets very little interaction from the rest of your team, so it has very stable matchups. This means if the opponent picks a champion that hard counters your champion, your bum will be like a chick-fil-a, open 6/7 days a week. Other roles are closer to key map objectives, meaning your team is more likely to be nearby to assist you, leaving you gaping for a much more modest 3-4/7 days a week. Jungle is the role that roams around and helps the team. While you will probably get less depressing scores as a new player in jungle from the lack of a direct lane opponent, having a jungler who doesn't know what they're doing is as close as you can get to losing in champ select. A team needs a strong jungler to assist laners and push for objectives, which is just too complicated to grasp for the first while. (best roles for new players in order go mid-adc-supp-top-jungle, though some people may dispute this order) 2. Mute all will make some games less fun, but will also keep you from bait ping irl (RIP bait ping, you were beloved) 3. Aram is the best way to learn the gist of what all the champions do, excluding loading up each champ 1 by 1 in practice tool, because that's boring as hell 4. Porofessor and similar programs are more likely to mislead new players than assist them. In order for the information they give to be useful, you need to know how to read it and apply it, which requires more game knowledge than new players have. League has built in features for popular runes and item builds which, while not always optimal, are always playable, and will never be the difference in a new player's success 5. Every single person you are playing with is a smurf, meaning they are experienced players on fresh accounts. This doesn't mean they are all GOOD players, just experienced. This is part of why top lane is so hellish for new players; your opponent is very likely to understand the matchup far better than you do. 6. The absolute most important thing in league is having fun. So much league media is focused around the meta and what will make you most successful, that the idea of playing the character you enjoy how you enjoy playing them is completely lost. The simple fact of the matter is that enjoying the game will make you more likely to practice more, so you are more likely to find success when you are having fun. 7. Ban Yone every game
Best new player roles are definitely supp>mid>ADC/top>jungle. Support is by far the simplest role to grasp and learn in game, they don't have to know last hitting, can generally spend all game brawling and have a lane partner so they always have assistance from a team mate. Mid is the most straight forward of the remaining roles. They just lane and there's a diverse champion pool for mid and fairly balanced with matchups, along with what you mentioned about being more readily supported by team mates and since the lane is short it's safer on average. I agree with your assessment of Top lane, but I'll contend that ADC is tied for second hardest new player role. ADC is the most reliant on farm out of all the roles, and as the squishiest and most targeted role on the team, with often not much agency early game and vulnerable late game, it can easily get frustrating for newbies. Top is, as you said, an island and one of the most susceptible to hard counters, but you can often just focus more on brawling, as apparent from steve bashing against top laners and finding relative success, and many top lane champions aren't as reliant on gold anyway. Jungle is, well, jungle. You kind of already need to have some solid game knowledge before you can expect to have the slightest idea what you're doing there, with jungle routes, timings, knowing when/how to gank, objectives, *counterjungling* etc etc. All that being said, I think one important factor to consider is also just what sort of player we're talking about, do they want to play a more back line role or do they want to carry? It could be better to base it on their preferred playstyle rather than necessarily their current experience. And a counter point to my own reasoning for support being the best new player role, last hitting is such an important fundamental mechanic, that it's sort of important to not put it off for too long to start practicing it if you want to actually play a carry role.
@@Svefngengill I recently saw a clip from a rioter where they explain my gripes with support perfectly. The numbers show that a team with an inexperienced support player is unlikely to win, whereas a team with an experienced support player, no matter how experienced, is around 50% to win. Support is a low agency role, and, while mechanically very simple, actually playing support requires a lot of game knowledge that ends up being non-transferable. It’s a trap for new players imo. Adc being farming reliant doesn’t discount it from being new player friendly for the exact same reason- 3/5 roles need to last hit minions. So the skills you learn as adc are very transferable. As well, adcs are often mechanically simple, and most adcs end up with some matchup that is very easy due to range advantage. I believe new players should start in mid or adc, simply because the roles get a lot of help and teach you the mechanics to swap over to your favorite role once you can figure out what your favorite role is.
@@Svefngengill So the order of best role to play in order to learn league is probably Mid>Jung/sup>top>adc. Mid is as u said straightforward, it's also the lane where every concept of the game in lane applies, roam, farming, objectives, matchups, teamplay. The only reason these days mid is nr 1 instead of top, is because top in terms of matchups have become muuuuuuuch more punishing. If i go back 5 years, top was the best to learn the game, just because top had less things to focus on. Mid just has everything u wanna learn about league, not just mid, but league, and a healthy diverse pool of champs (i'll admit that in the current patch that pool is less big, but it's still decent). It is also the lane where ur most likely to "suffer", but learning is suffering in league, so there u go. I wanna put jung above support, but they are even, let me explain why. Jungle as a role does not have a direct opponenet, meaning everything you learn, is league. It is the only role that will teach you about a role that u need to understand in order to understand league, jungle is literally one of the roles that makes league (on summoners rift) league, if u don't understand that role, u will always be at a disadvantage no matter what. It's also a role that has a massive pool of champs to play. It also teaches ur macro, as that is all jungle is, macro macro macro, the most crucial bit of league to learn. Now, why is jungle below mid? Because it's also the only role i'd argue u can't "play and learn exclusivly". Jung is best learnt by watching at least one 30 min vid on jungling before even playing your first match, but what is great about that, it's also the EASIEST ROLE to start. Jung is a very easy role to get decent at, it's just the absolute hardest role to master, polar oposite to top, as top is super hard to get into, but once u have clicked, it's relativly easy to master. Hence why jung is actually an amazing role to play to learn league. Support, as i said support and jung are even, most of the same principle applies, the only difference if that instead of having as much focus on macro, ur instead being forced to learn teamplay, u have to learn how ur adc plays, to play ur lane, it's a more straightforward lane, but the concept is generally the same. Sup is the only other role where i think watching a vid to teach u support is the way to start learning it, but unlike jung, isn't mandetory, just will shorten ur time of figuring it out by like 100 games minimum. Not much else to say as u described support really well in terms of the in lane function. The big drawbacks is that farming is a huge part of league, and u do need to learn it at a higher level than any other role, as ur suppose to know how to assist farming, not just farm, but it's easier to execute that higher level once u have learnt it. That brings me to top, top is above adc for one simple reason, diversity. In top, while punishing, it's the lane to learn champs, every bad thing about ur champ will come out in top, and every good thing, if u wanna learn micro, play top, as that is where u can 100% dedicate ur focus too it, i would only play top after learning jungle and mid though, as mid will teach u laning but force u to be aware of jng/sup, and jung will teach u macro u need to grasp in order to not get completely top diffed. After that though, top is probably the lane u should play next. (U can play sup instead mid if u want too, or sup instead of jng, but u will have a slightly harder time understand when junglers come to ur lane). Now, why adc so low? Adc a lot of people will put around the middle of their lists. But adc is the only lane with a person in lane, dedicated to make you have to learn less. Thats right, support does a lot of, if not all the macro for you, except farming. But any lane has to learn farming, adc just is punished more for failing it. U also have very low agency in the early game, meaning u won't get to impact the game much, the champ pool is very low unless u play mages, but u might aswell be mid then. And the role is also the role u have to focus on ur lane the most, because there are 2 people and ur farming, meaning u will struggle to learn macro and micro in the lane. Overall adc just is not a lane to play if u wanna learn anything league. Above all else, playing is learning, i'm not saying u can't learn if ur playing say adc, just u will have to spend more time. This is my opinion, at the end of the day, but i do feel the reasons added explains well why.
@Nightmare-fe9hr I can agree with that logic if you want to focus on "role you're most likely to be useful on" as a new player, but I'm sort of ignoring win chance on the basis that WR shouldn't be what you worry about as a new player. Like with Steve in the video, the game that stuck out the most for him at the start wasn't a win, it was the one where he popped off and had fun. I think support offers that experience most readily early on, the aspects that make support "difficult" as a role aren't really something you should be considering consciously as a totally fresh player. Support as a role has the fewest things to worry about besides deep game knowledge, so you can focus on just learning the most basic things like the movement, using abilities and brawling with the enemy team. But again, this all depends on what angle you want to take for the new player, and as I said, last hitting is so important that it might be better to just jump in the deep end and have a trial by fire. I will say I find that rioter statistic regarding support WR highly suspect. Something to consider is that "low agency" is a very dubious concept to begin with. For one, that statement "support is low agency" but "inexperienced supports negatively impact WR" is contradictory. If they're so low agency then why is an inexperienced support *that* detrimental to a team's chance to win?
Finally getting around to watching this. So, quick couple of things I'll chuck in here because I've played a lot of Gwen and I want you to terrorize people in my stead: - Q's center applies true damage, which is why Gwen is so strong into tanks. If you can aim the middle of the strike correctly you'll do lots of damage that ignores their resistances, and they'll cry in all chat about how busted Gwen is. Drink the tears, they will fuel your crusade. - E is an auto attack reset. Broadly speaking, there's an invisible timer that controls how often you attack that varies depending on the champion. This attack timer is changed depending on the items you build, which is why things like Nashor's Tooth greatly increase how fast you can attack and stack the Q passive. Some champs have skills that can reset this auto-attack timer and allow you to declare (use) another auto attack immediately. This is great for stacking Gwen's Q passive more quickly. You do need to get the game sense down about thinking when and where to use E aggressively, because E is Gwen's only mobility tool and you need to keep that in reserve to escape ganks, because everyone hates Gwen and junglers will be attracted to ganking Gwen like free pizza at an anime convention. So, when you use E, in addition to resetting the auto attack timer you will also attack faster for a period of time depending on the rank of the ability, so you can stack your Q faster the more you land attacks. This way you can get up to 4 and let your Q rip and watch the enemy health pool disappear. In some matchups you may want to even consider maxing E first over Q, though this was more of a thing back when I played and not as effective of a choice now. - You already use your W surprisingly well in places, but you can press W again after the initial cast to recenter the area of W's effect on Gwen's current position. This is useful if you have to reposition closer to an edge because enemies are walking into your barrier or the combat situation has otherwise changed. This can buy you some breathing room and keep ranged attacks from hitting you for longer, allowing you to control how much damage you take in certain situations. W can also block attacks from epic monster ranged moves like Dragon's breath and some Baron attacks, so this can help if you're far enough ahead to solo certain objectives. That said, keeping W in your pocket is important to keep the enemy from engaging on you. - R is at it's best if you can hit a lot of people at once with it, because you can lifesteal off all of them and survive frankly ridiculous fights if you build right. Try to weave casts of R between auto attacks. The champion used to require this but apparently you can just yolo all 3 launches now without having to weave, but it will improve your DPS in duels. If you're having issues aiming the skill, try changing the quick cast setting to only declare the attack once you let go of R instead of quick casting immediately. If you do this, you can use the GUI to take a moment to aim, which can be helpful. You can always change this back later once you get better at aiming and then try to get used to quick casting it. More general tips from my misspent youth: - Holding A and left clicking is called an Attack Move and will help you out a ton. For example, if you're trying to attack an enemy when there are lots of minions or other champions/monsters in the way, this can help you stay on your intended target. It is essential to master quickly if you want to get anywhere with some of the harder champions in this game. Azir in particular basically requires attack move and quickcast to even remotely play well. - Alt as a modifier I believe defaults to a self-cast. In your first Morgana game Ashe sent an arrow your way, you could have self-casted E to nullify the whole spell and waste her ult. Selfcasts are useful on some champs, so be sure to look carefully to see if there's ways to do that for whoever you pick. - As for the wave management. This is hard to teach in a comment, but think of it like this. Minion waves meet at the middle at the start of the game. Depending on what order the minions die in, the line that the minions meet at will be different. To kill them faster than the enemy would be to "push" or "shove" the wave. Letting the enemy push further into you can sometimes actually be an advantage, because that exposes their flank to your jungler and makes any attempt to attack you more risky due to proximity to your tower. Try to think about when you attack minions. Every time you try to get a last-hit, you are opening yourself to attack, and vice versa for the enemy. Pay attention to your jungler's route and their health level. When your jungler is close by/heading your way and decently high on health and mana, try and let the enemy push to encourage a gank to happen. - On the flip side, if you can poke down the enemy to force them to go back to base, you have time to farm or even shove the wave into their tower. The more of your minions that die to their tower, the less experience and gold the enemy laner can get. Often times forcing a recall on the opponent can be even more devastating than killing them if you play your cards right. - /mute all. Every game. Your mental health will be at risk in this game, control your exposure or lose yourself to the void. Keep my queen slaying for me. Maybe someday I'll pick up my scissors again, but not while League is turning itself into a whale's gacha and installing suspicious anticheat on everyone's computers. Also ngl GOATED music choices. Persona? Guilty Gear Strive? What a playlist.
As an ex-league gamer i've got 2 things to say, #1 the game itself is actually really good, hot take ikr, #2 the community is as bad as everyone says it is, but that is the only thing that actually drags league down
@@aejigamez200 but that's the thing, there are 168 champions in league at this time, each with at least 5 abilities. Of course there are going to be some that are stronger or weaker than another, of course there are going to be items that are good for a while then get nerfed or bad for a while then become op, it's just the outcome of a game that's been out for a deacade and a half. Y'all complain so much about this myth of balance, but every good game I've ever heard of has never had good balance, look at sekiro, various mmos, even casual games like Mario party or Mario kart are unbalanced. But they are all good games, y'all just complaining about a fictional problem imo
@stellarstar6553 you're complaining about ranked? a system that tries to place players of similar skill against eachother with thousands of variables? that's quite a baseless statement, that combined with the fact that the majority of comp games have duo/party queue makes that point even more invalid. you've created yet another issue out of nothing to complain about because you don't understand how the system works. you're basically complaining about an oven cooking things when you're the one setting the temp
It's incredible that people can keep saying that League is a really good game. When you ask anyone who has played, and their experience is: well I don't have fun; playing ranked is like pulling teeth; it's only fun in premade (because doing things with friends is fun); everyone in the community is a toxic asshoe (not me though); that the only reason I play it it's because it's addictive. It's like saying that a slot machine is a good game because it keeps people looking for that hit of dopamine.
Your determination and to learn and have fun is amazing. I couldnt help be just be proud of you every match you were in no matter how bad your score was (I say your score cause your skills were not bad for someone of your level. You seem to learn pretty fast! :D) I hope you enjoy more league. Putting the toxicity to the side and the overwhelming champ pool/ items and the game can be extremely fun. Especially with friends!
I swear, any battle with more than 3 people looks like if you put a crap ton of confetti into a box, and quickly moved it side to side. I couldn't follow shit
LMAO, I've been playing for like 2 months now and still big fights are incredibly confusing, wonder if this is how people who play something like overwatch for the first time feel, just a bunch of colors on the screen
@@MilkManSteve as someone with over 10 years of league experience and about 50h of og overwatch on release any current ow gameplay does look like a box of confetti while i can easily identify the league abilities lol
Best description I've heard of this issue was from Girlfriend Reviews, Diarrhea Christmas Lights. League had that when I quit over 10 years ago, and it's only gotten worse over time.
Wait, how much time has passed between the games and the last ARAM? Your movement, mouse placement, ability usage and everything look so much better suddenly. For the video - I got the video recommended multiple times but the thumbnail never made me always ignore it. I thought: "Yet another rant about how bad League is and how it's going to die soon...". But the video ended up being really nice and positive. Maybe it's just me, but I've grown tired of all the negativity. I want to see some positive outlooks and people having fun. The video was amazing.
@@MilkManSteve legit thought it was gameplay from someone else. Wish I had gameplay footage from when I started out to see how bad I most likely was 😂
Watching him auto with 4 stacks and Q off cooldown hurt my soul. But I love watching him improve every game. Please keep playing! You are getting better every game!
I have played probably close to 100 games since this footage lmao, I still have so much to learn but I've been having a lot of fun just trying out new characters, will soon have to choose a couple to actually learn so I can improve at the game but that's later me's issue.
@@MilkManSteveIf I may reccomend a think to choose mains, it's to find a champ you like most, and understand what is it that you like about them. I like bruisers a lot for example couse they can deal dmg while healing or ignoring dmg done to them, stuff like voli, warwick and briar. But I also like champs that rely on quicky chunking you down before you can do anything significant to them, like master yi or zed. Or champs that once they outscale you can't beat them even if your get ganked (jungle helping your lane) and roamed (assisted by another laner, normally midlaner or support) like Illaoi or Darius who will just as easily 1vs2 or 1vs3 as they 1 vs 1, so it's not unlikely to see a jungled not ganking a toplane matchup vs champs like that becouse it might as well just get them even more ahead. Also scaling champs are nice for me, particularly veigar couse i like hitting the E on multiple targets at a time and changing the flow of the team fight. There's a lot of champs to chose from and a lot of roles that they fill. They recently reworked skarner for example, and I've had a blast playing him since they did, he's very fun but also hard to play well.
what brings me back to play leauge is the fact that every game is new. You will see something new every game and will always get a new chance to dunk on ppl or get dunked on and make a comeback or lose
step by step guide on how to have fun in league 1. play ranked. just trust me, you will see less bots and you can dodge troll pick lobbies. 2. keep chat turned off. if you must turn it on for public for some reason then you really need to use the mute function 3. play what you want to play. worry less about matchups and instead focus on your small champion pool and learn to adapt item builds to the lobby 4. accept that you will have many, many, many stupid losses and that's okay now enjoy
I'd argue against the ranked step as you are potentially ruining other peoples games by using it as a learning tool. Practice tool and watching how other streamers play is much faster especially if they are the type to explain their mindset. You won't necessarily learn fundamentals such as kiting, farming, or effective vision control from playing against other players. Also, reading your champions abilities or finding a summary of it online (may sometimes be vague or hard to understand) before playing the champ. Or watching a short video on the champions playstyle before playing is very useful. It is how I learned a difficult champion like Katarina in a week compared to spamming games like I did in the past. Tips I do recommend is to try out all the champions every free rotate until you find something you know you could stick to. Then spam games on that champion even against difficult matchups. It teaches you to think on what the enemy wants from you and what you can do to avoid or use it against them.
@@leek_san you seem to be confusing what i said. I said nothing of how to LEARN league, i said how TO HAVE FUN in league. bots and quickplay is a resource I encourage people to use but the sooner you spend your games in ranked rather than quickplay the sooner you will see less of the dumber aspects of matchmaking like that new player that picked jungle ashe or that 3rd game with a bot in under 3 hours. also when you are new and inevitably get put in iron, theres nothing BUT people ruining each other's games. that's literally the whole point of low low elo, welcome to league
@@zacharyjackson1829 Sorry, should have made it clear. It is biased towards my views on league, but I think that learning how to play is the fastest way to have fun with it. It is like watching a soccer game without knowing the rules. It can still be entertaining, but once you learn and understand the rules, you would likely derive more enjoyment from future soccer games. And about the ranked thing, it is my own values speaking, but playing ranked to learn for fun is generally not a fun experience for the 4 other players. You are sacrificing the game and the enjoyment of 4 other players for your own benefit.
I very recently had a friend trick me into playing league with him again. We’re both newbies, but he has other friends who have hundreds of hours in the game. For the last three years we’ve picked it up on and off for a few games, but something just clicked and I fear I’m hooked this time around 😅
I only enjoy it cuz I have friendsnto play it with and my champs really fit my playstyle. Also, I don't actively torture myself by playing Sona, esp in Quick play. 😅
I definitely feel like that with so many characters there is probably someone for everyone. Also I would rather anywhere else than bot lane solo que, actual hell
I started playing League of Legends in summer 2019, I played vs bots and when I tried to play PvP mode, it was so horrible that I never wanted to play it again so I went back to PvE, half year later my friend was also playing League, we were talking like "Yea I also used to play league, but never the PvP cuz it was too hard and everyone was toxic...", so he started to learn me the basics of game and now I keep plaing it for 5 years and he quit like 3 years ago. So conclusion, you can have fun as new player in League, If you stay away from PvP.
@@MilkManSteve as a player with over 12 yrs experience, theres nothing I want to see more on youtube than a league noob trying to learn the game. This video gave me the nkstalgia i didnt know i craved. Fuck this game btw
Saying League isn't fun is such a terminally online thing to say. If it wasn't such a fun game then it wouldn't be one of the biggest games in the world for the last 10 years. Edit: I stopped playing League in 2019. But it wasn't because it wasn't fun. I just started getting a strange network lag that made it unenjoyable to play. I still claim League is one of the greatest games ever made. The numbers prove it.
Started league a year ago due to my boyfriend, ended up deciding to play it solo and legit got flamed for having no idea what my teammate's champ does fast forward a year now, i can easily tell you which champ is which from the ability alone and yes im still hardstuck silver
@@MilkManSteve ive seen an iron teemo have 2 million mastery points and a bronze yasuo with 3 million, both still ended up losing iron-bronze is so weird man istg
The pain and cries of a new player facing broken matchups is where I get a lot of my fun. I started in 2020 and since have put 4 of my friends on to the game. So far, there are only 2 left that will play anymore but each of them had a good time feeding in lane and experiencing the glory of league for awhile.
Starting Q on Gwen xd Then standing completely still, oh this video gonna be good :D The sheer amount of times you didn't use your defensive ability, I'm gonna cry Big respect actually for the solo queue adventure to get that S, well done
Its all about the dopamine hits. As a pyke main, seeing your ult marker appear over someone, followed by the loud crash of the execute, and then another and then another... its like crack
No way Milk Man fucking Steve, some random ahh guy I've been subbed to for years because of some ancient Minecraft video lost to the backrooms themselves goes and downloads league and starts learning it only like 4 months after I do, and somehow ends up picking the same scissor wielding girl as his main, as I did...
It’s like Minecraft where there are endless possibilities. Endless builds and strats to try. When you tried them all they update the game boom. When you get that 20/0 game it’s like hero inn. And u just chase that feeling the next 5 yesrs. Oh also the learning experience is one of the most rewarding things in this game it is everything
As a 13 year veteran who got a friend addicted to league 3 months ago, the answer is yes. But you gotta grind, and you gotta have friends who can carry regardless of how shit you play.
It's easy to have fun when you win, it's built in our DNA, but learning to have fun when you lose, when all you can do is make the enemies victory the most excruciatingly painful and slow possible, that is a whole another kind of fun
I learned the game mostly through ARAM when I started. It forces you to play champions you don't normally play and lets you better understand how they work which helps when versing them. It also helps you focus more on micro since you don't have to do as much macro.
I went into a normals with a friend and went bot with them, letting them ADC. The entire enemy team noticed that she was free gold so they 5 maned bot and dove us. I asked if they could let a new player learn to farm and just kill only me in the future in this quick play game. They never stopped coming bot after that. Dove her around 20 times until the game was over. Truly a community.
Its best to play with friends if you are a beginner. Just until you have the mechanics of 2-3 champions down, and feel solid on the strategy and play style of at least 2 lane positions before going solo. Admittedly Its ALWAYS more fun when you know your team mates and can strategise together and help each other out.
So being someone who got introduced to league by friends and also teaching new players myself. What I learned as a teacher was, to make sure I can inform my friend or friends as much as possible about their matchup, and make it simple. Second when I was new I totally got annoyed sometimes when I would do well and my team would want to forfeit, from that when I teach new people I just stay up beat, and say “If someone’s saying something in chat mute em.” I also if I play on an alt, won’t intentionally put 100% of my effort in, because it could be likely I’m playing against new players. Unless I notice a Smurf, then I specifically target that one.
I can tell you why we come back the feeling of pure joy when you're able to bully the opposition in a way that makes you feel like a god when done right to add to that the other team wants that same feeling
As someone whose been playing league for over a decade, it's easy to forget how things started and how some things we view as basics, like csing, moving between spells are not as instinctively clear to anyone who just started playing. I will admit however, seeing someone stand still while being beat down is really difficult haha
One more reason people say don't play league and so on is that it's just become cool and a trend to say league is not fun and you shouldn't play it. The fact of the matter is that the game is FUN as hell. There are elements of it which can drive you mad if you're overly attached or caring too much about ranks, but as a casual gaming experience it's super fun, it wouldn't have found such success if it weren't fun.
I'd really recommend becoming conscious of the way the wave works, right after you get used to the game mechanically. I'm only 3 games into the vid but so far you've only played matchups in your favour, meaning that an extended fight where you don't fuck up is a guaranteed win for you. - So, how to actually get the opportunity for an extended fight? Manipulate the wave to be as close to your tower. If you noticed, there are always two opposing waves of minions clashing and whenever you hit the enemy wave more then the opponent hits yours, the next clash of the minions will happens closer to their tower because the surviving minions from your wave went ahead and stopped the enemy wave sooner. So what you wanna do to make the wave come closer to you is lasthit at the last possible moment whenever there are more minions on the enemy side than on yours. You can get into that position pretty easily against noobs. Just give them some space and they will push towards you. If they don't, you can try making them hit your minions during a fight, or another technique is "crashing", which is essentially pushing your wave all the way to the tower, where the enemy tower helps the enemy wave and either causes the enemy wave to push, or reset back to neutral at the very least.
In my experience, if you want to have fun as a new player you have to come with a full team of friends that also doesn't have any idea of how to play and learn playing together. That was the only way i could join into the league community. Now the only time i play is with any of those friends but that is so rare bc we all have things going on in our lives xD
addiction and the gatekeep of winning creates a dopamine to play it but when you play it the dopamine wears off. kind of like the thought of doing something gives more dopamine than actually doing it
Thank god being an fps player with my friends kept me from playing league, sometimes I watch videos like this thinking, “maybe id try it out if I played with the homies” and then I never do because they’d NEVER play league. Thanks to my best buds from unknowingly keeping me away from this ❤
Playing league is like smoking. Every person that actually does is going to tell you that you should never do it because of how bad it is and then proceed to smoke a full box in front of you
this is so accurate.

I still remember this one guy I met when I was a new player trying renekton. They were on darius and could have EASILY stomped me but instead they sat with me through the lane and taught me some b&b combos, item building, csing and whatnot, and then he went on to kill my entire team.

im starting to think the lack of fun is a marketing strategy

@@atsukki You're not wrong, most games I feel like it is clearly 1 side that is winning or, usually more stomping the other until an eventual ff

No way, they made a whole game based on Jinx from Fortnite??!

@@BloodyVisualKeiJoker
The tutorial just tells you to run down any lane, and try your abilities.

Couple Gwen tips:
- Use your ult between other abilities, don’t use all 3 in a row
- use your W when running away from enemies
- use E to dodge abilities
- you don’t need to kill them every battle, just get them low enough so you can zone them from farming
- freeze the wave on your side

At the beginning you're just worried about attacking the enemy and not dying but then that becomes second nature so you start actively csing. Then that's second nature and now you're doing stuff like learning wave management and level up timers. It feels good to learn new mechanics and apply them.

If you want, here are some of your mistakes :
(First : 11:00 No, you are not so bad. That normal to make mistake. First of all, you need to understand what is a mistake, and why it is ... because sometime, you will take bad trade without knowing it is, and will ask yourself "why i am losing?/ in such a bad position?" ... i mean, litteraly everyone had this problem one day.)
Game 1 : you don't seem to use "lvl up timer".
And bad CSing (you need to last hit creep)
That mean you don't have much money, and you spend that money on potion.
Game 2 : 8:57 Was a great instant trade timing. Q on him and the wave would make his wave bounce back to you, while he will be low. (by putting your wave under tower)
9:05 Now you will remember that stay pushed too long isn't good.
(but GG nonetheless)
11:53 Good idea, let's be honnest ! ... but you should have keep E to escape. Put yourself at the edge of your Q, and back directly (use E if you sense he would try to E you)
(note : not to kill him, but just cancel is recall)
Game 4 : 14:24 Really good trade ! Your opponnent is forced to recall, you have to crash to deny some gold and XP and recall yourself. You would only lose like 1/2 creep or something.
15:27 press Q dude !
16:24 You needed to take the creeps i think. (if this reset and not bounce back, you had your tp ... but the opponent should try to push so you surely would be fine.)
Game 5 : 19:00 See how the wave is damaging you? That why you shoudn't attack when he slowpushing (well, or stop when you don't have any burst anymore.)
Game 6 : 22:21 You are very low and have TP, she is full HP.

@@astroul4188 right? League is like a drug addiction, you wanna quit, you wanna give up, but you always find yourself playing it again dispite the emotional damage it causes
For a new player, you did a lot better than a lot of people starting out league! I'm glad you had fun, when I first started I didn't understand roles, didn't know how to build items (there was no recommendations in the shop), have runes (You had to buy them), and a whole lot of other things on top of all that you were confused about. League, despite having more champions, has become a lot more new player friendly.
I still miss my 1% crit rune. 😭
Ah the lucky yolo crit rune was the best!
I decided to make an account in NA, LAN, and EUW.
I dont want to know how many friendships were destroyed over this game xD
So I mostly played alone after that.
Playing league as a new player is brutal, the learning curve is incredibly steep, and a lot of information just straight out is not given to you. Here are a few key tips:
(best roles for new players in order go mid-adc-supp-top-jungle, though some people may dispute this order)
2. Mute all will make some games less fun, but will also keep you from bait ping irl (RIP bait ping, you were beloved)
3. Aram is the best way to learn the gist of what all the champions do, excluding loading up each champ 1 by 1 in practice tool, because that's boring as hell
4. Porofessor and similar programs are more likely to mislead new players than assist them. In order for the information they give to be useful, you need to know how to read it and apply it, which requires more game knowledge than new players have. League has built in features for popular runes and item builds which, while not always optimal, are always playable, and will never be the difference in a new player's success
Amen, fuck the brothers LMAO
For me personally I enjoy the lore, all characters are unique and I enjoy just reading about them whenever I'm in the lobby
The lore is fire, and Arcane is peak
this video was SO much fun! i had a great time. made me quite nostalgic over that feeling of everything being so new around you :,)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Finally getting around to watching this. So, quick couple of things I'll chuck in here because I've played a lot of Gwen and I want you to terrorize people in my stead:
- Q's center applies true damage, which is why Gwen is so strong into tanks.
More general tips from my misspent youth:
- Holding A and left clicking is called an Attack Move and will help you out a ton.
I appreciate all the tips, and all those songs are straight bangers, the fact I'm allowed to use them feels criminal
Started league a month ago to play with some friends, it has been a headache how much fun i can have and then proceed to go on a losing streak
On one actively with a buddy of mine while writing this, it's rough out here
considering you just started, you're playing really well. dont even worry about the missed skillshots lmao, even pro players miss
I appreciate it :)
As an ex-league gamer i've got 2 things to say, #1 the game itself is actually really good, hot take ikr, #2 the community is as bad as everyone says it is, but that is the only thing that actually drags league down
i think its the opposite lmao. Community is fine, just learn to ignore toxicity. But you can hardly ignore terrible champ design or shitty balacing
But they are all good games, y'all just complaining about a fictional problem imo
nah the community elevates it
@stellarstar6553 you're complaining about ranked? a system that tries to place players of similar skill against eachother with thousands of variables? that's quite a baseless statement, that combined with the fact that the majority of comp games have duo/party queue makes that point even more invalid. you've created yet another issue out of nothing to complain about because you don't understand how the system works. you're basically complaining about an oven cooking things when you're the one setting the temp
I've been having a lot of fun with it still, with and without friends now, glad you enjoyed it :)
The first couple of months were the best of league, now 8 years later I really wish I could experience league for the first time again.
Oh the ARAM gameplay is from like 2 weeks ago, the rest of the gameplay is from end of august. I would say I've improved a decent bit lmao
That ended on such a dystopian note.
Bro your editing is amazing, you got a bright future ahead
I appreciate you king
@PresencyStudio did someone said you're the king?
(Insert Matt & Justus skit format)
step by step guide on how to have fun in league
1. play ranked. just trust me, you will see less bots and you can dodge troll pick lobbies.
2. keep chat turned off. if you must turn it on for public for some reason then you really need to use the mute function
3. play what you want to play. worry less about matchups and instead focus on your small champion pool and learn to adapt item builds to the lobby
4. accept that you will have many, many, many stupid losses and that's okay
now enjoy
These are good tips, I appreciate it :)
How to have fun: play with your friends
How not to have fun: play ranked.
Playing with 2 People who know what they're doing and teaching you non toxic it's actually pretty good.

I very recently had a friend trick me into playing league with him again. We’re both newbies, but he has other friends who have hundreds of hours in the game. For the last three years we’ve picked it up on and off for a few games, but something just clicked and I fear I’m hooked this time around 😅
We are in the same boat brother
I only enjoy it cuz I have friendsnto play it with and my champs really fit my playstyle. Also, I don't actively torture myself by playing Sona, esp in Quick play. 😅
I definitely feel like that with so many characters there is probably someone for everyone. Also I would rather anywhere else than bot lane solo que, actual hell
Bro got a taste of it and now he's cooked, you are one of us now, i welcome you into the darkness
You could make a cool series out of your league learning journey.
If the people want to see it I'd be open to it but I also don't want to fully commit to a league of legends channel lmao

Its all about the dopamine hits. As a pyke main, seeing your ult marker appear over someone, followed by the loud crash of the execute, and then another and then another... its like crack
You know the game is designed to feel that way… lol
No way Milk Man fucking Steve, some random ahh guy I've been subbed to for years because of some ancient Minecraft video lost to the backrooms themselves goes and downloads league and starts learning it only like 4 months after I do, and somehow ends up picking the same scissor wielding girl as his main, as I did...
The universe works in mysterious ways
100%, a consistent 5 stack is my dream

you got addicted to the lottery. To the "one more game, This will be the good one"
Now the only time i play is with any of those friends but that is so rare bc we all have things going on in our lives xD
addiction and the gatekeep of winning creates a dopamine to play it but when you play it the dopamine wears off. kind of like the thought of doing something gives more dopamine than actually doing it
love how bro plays inspirational undertale music and proceeds to show us him dying over and over again 25:29
I love a good montage
Thank god being an fps player with my friends kept me from playing league, sometimes I watch videos like this thinking, “maybe id try it out if I played with the homies” and then I never do because they’d NEVER play league. Thanks to my best buds from unknowingly keeping me away from this ❤
