. I noticed early in the clip the coming car in background disappeared then lights show car off screen after crossing view. When you plugged the cameras into the NVR the video stream was smoother, car flowed no skipping. Compare 7:43 & 11:17 car crossing view. Great video. Haven’t seen another as detailed like this.
when you restored the cameras you put them back to factory defaults including the default passwords (not good) all you had to do was put in the proper password into the nvr
Good thing about the power brick is keep the heat generated outside the NVR?
Regarding the port/channel assignment as I found out that you can pull all camera out the ports and insert each camera you want one at a time and wait a little for it to get picked up.. That's the case anyway on my 16 channel unit.

I've seen a few videos where someone would say that my NVR picked up my other cameras on my network that I already have connected.
I'm wondering if folks are putting cameras and other devices like IOT, phones, laptop tops, game console, etc... on one large LAN ( local area network) which isn't the best way to setup your network. You're video traffic (as well as other things like IOT) should really be on it's own separate VLAN (virtual local area network) in order to help with a number of things such as to aid in security, network congestion, logging, and it just adds good house keeping when things don't work like they should.
Can it support third party camera , onvif or rtsp?

You need to play with Ubiquiti stuff. You would love their networking and protect stuff.
Pro Tip: External power supplies decrease heat inside the actual unit for less operating temperature inside the enclosure

Do u have any reolink nvr videos on updating the firmware. I just bought the RLN8-410. I'm assuming that one records 4k. I also bought the RLC 811A 4k cameras.
with the NVR do you have to connect an external minitor or can you acces it thought a web browser

What happened when you have 4cameras and you have 8 channels nvr so when you installed,one of it won't show on the 4 camera except you put the screen on 8 division

if the reolink nvr has only 8 poe port? can i used an external poe and have 20 cameras on the poe switch and use a single cat6 connected to the nvr and still view my 20 cameras?

If you already have camera plugged in nvr port channel, you cannot configure another camera plugged in to external switch using same channel.
A camera reboot/power cycle would have worked much better opposed to restore, then you go into the NVR channel settings, add each camera and add the camera's password I had similar issues on my new QNAP NAS, and a power cycle worked for me to get them to show up, none are connected directly, then the QNAP NVR app forces you to enter the camera's credentials. You always want to change the default passwords, a restore would reset passwords.

I understand that the RNL8 will work with my Swann 815 cameras..I currently have a Swann 7300 NVR and it is terrible, to say the least. My biggest complaint is the playback capability of the 7300 - very hard to use, and the playback program freezes frequently. My question for you is regarding the playback on the RNL8.. what has your experience been? I'm considering getting one of these to replace the 7300, I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks.
question just bought this when i go to hit shutdown it tells to make sure the to unplug the cable but it doesnt automatically shut down?
You do not explain how the cameras are connected, you mention something about a switch that you connected, what is that switch for?
How do you reset for a new user? I bought this from a friend and need to reset it and create a new password

Video was extremely fast. This system will not scan code the NVR to set up phone app.
I'm not getting any video showing on mine, I'll start the setup again for like the 8th time - I'm sure I'll work it out, probably have to hard reset every camera at this rate.

Can i plug 2 cameras into a POE switch, and then run one cable from the POE switch to the NVR, and also have 2 additional cameras plugged directly into the NVR?
According to Reolink your camera's just have to be on the same network as the NVR. So you don't have to run a cable from the POE switch to the NVR, since the NVR is already connected to your network

I have a system for about 3 years that was non brand and now I have a reolink 8 channel with 8 cameras I was thinking of putting the Western Digital 4 terabyte hard drive I have in the cheap system in the new reolink nvr should I just take it out and put it in the new nvr and that's it ,or is there something more I would have to do, Thank you your videos very helpful
You should be able to , just would have to use the app to format the hard drive so it can be used with the Reolink software. Maybe Ill do a video about changing the hard drives in the NVR...
@@GeekSmart awsome please make a video about swapping hard drives in a nvr when you upgrade your survalence cámara system...in my case ,reolink brings a 2 tb Toshiba drive,so I'd rather have my western digital 4 tb purple hard drive,so my ordeal along with a million other people,go thu the same thing so a video on putting your badass hard drive in your new system would be a winner in my book,thanks ill stay tuned brother..💯💯😎🤙

And rotate recorded video when limits are reached? Deleting oldest recording first?

@@GeekSmart that's isn't good option for me. - > ONLY WORK WITH REOLINK CAMERAS: Work perfectly with all Reolink PoE 5MP/4MP cameras, such as RLC-410/511/520/522/423/D400/B400 cameras. Manage up to 16 cameras simultaneously easily.
I'm using another cameras, so I'm not going to change all cameras to match NVR.
