Loved your style and humour. I am of a similar age and in a similar state (take that as you may 😁) and have subscribed as I think your videos may help. Thank you for the information and looking forward to following your weight loss journey - I will be on the same path 😁🙏
Superb ! I’m with you on the middle aged, overweight, hypertensive old man category. 4 different tablets but want to get off them all. Weight is definitely an issue so, like you, going to monitor my BP throughout the day and have cut alcohol to 1 day a week only. Let’s see how it goes, but watching you has given me a training partner 👍
Excellent! My BP just seems to keep on dropping, by about 1mm per week as I shed weight - from 146/93 a bit over a month ago, to 140/89 last week, with about half the weight now lost and 4/5 kilos to go.
Hi, just discovered your videos and love them. I've actually just bought an Aktiia BP monitor as a result of watching your video. Purely coincidentally, I was going to go on a Huel diet too after being recommended to me. I've taken that as a sign! I struggle with the BP being on the high side - worse than yours actually. I hope mine starts to go down as yours did!! Thanks
@@alejandratovar428 Well, it is very much like giving up smoking, with a few relapses along the way, but so far I've lost about half what I need to, and the general blood pressure trend is downwards, so it seems to be working, although a few anomalies (BP readings) along the way which I will report on when I hit target weight.
Many thanks bought the Aktiia device but like you said Weight loss/Alcohol/Less Stress all massive factors ,Can visibly see a difference from your introduction to the last clip,Congrats
I've just got this monitor for myself and have been on the Huel for a while. I'm not over weight. Just like the the money saving and I can carry it around with me. I walk a lot. I hope you can find the time for more movement in your life. While you wait for the Huel to cook. Keep moving. That's an extra 15-20 min exercise.
Great review, in fact my cardiologist suggested this product, I ordered it today despite some negative reviews on ppor customer services. I would be happy if the device is close to accurate:) I do not have BP yet, just bought this as preventative measure!
Totally amazing review. Absolutely loved it and laughed like a fool. Very very informative and I will now invest. Thank you so much for sharing this Arlo. I'm a fan.
Great video. It is a good product. I have been using it, had already needed replacement unit. Shame it's not sweat or water proof. I am sure in 2024 they could it.
Good luck! One thing I didnt say in the film, which may be useful, is that I find the best way to overcome the hunger is to eat nothing till early evening, then have one savoury huel, and one milkshake-type one (vanilla or cinnamon swirl) one after the other, plus a couple of hundred calories of whatever rabbit food is lying about, and that fills me up for the evening. Still, I wouldn't pretend this is easy (although seeing the BP drop on the Aktiia app does help with motivation).
Arlo, you are very entertaining. By the way, I could see the difference in your face by week 3. You did look slimmer. I'm going to investigage Huel and this BP monitor. 3 of my siblings died at 59. I need all the help I can get. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you, I try! Sadly weight back on again. I made the mistake of going to America last summer, where portion sizes are rather different. 59. Crikey. Sobering thought. I'd better get back on the Huel.
Tx, I forgot to add “in the USA” to my initial comment. The device itself appears to be acquirable in the USA, but the app is not. A few resources, including Forbes, say it’s in the FDA approval process & “coming soon.” That said the most recent of those resources are 1-2 years old. Tx again & if a work around exists / becomes apparent, plz let me/us know.
I have been using this product which was very reliable. Unfortunately after 8 months the first one could not charge. So I was sent a replacement and the second replacement the same thing happen. I believe that the sensors part is of not a good quality, as with wrist and skin respiration may cause rust and also not sure why the charging pins after a while sinks in.For a price of £199.00 its not a very good product. Its a shame because it has the making of a great product.
Absolutely brilliant Arlo! Been chuckling for the last 2 minutes 😂. Looking forward to the next review. 😊
Thank you! That's hugely rewarding for me to hear (rather more rewarding than the advertising revenue at the moment 🥲)

Thanks. I initially wanted a review, but I've -like you - completely lost why I went to watch your video.
LOL
Great video. Just starting my journey with hypertension and just bought the aktia. Haven’t tried Huel. Might review.

I brought both the band and some huel based on this video!

Tx, much appreciated, helpful & entertaining.
How does one go about acquiring an Aktiia BP monitor?
Glad you enjoyed it. As regards acquiring, link in the description!

Extra points for your linear regression work using a steel ruler overlaid on a phone.
Very enjoyable video thank you
My pleasure!
How spooky I was just saying to my dad I hadn't seen you post in a while not ten minutes ago.
Ha … well I’ve got a few more in the pipeline….
@@arlo.guthrie Glad to hear it, your humour and style are right up my alley :)
@@Phil_AKA_ThundyUK that’s good to hear … thank you!
The comment about offending yourself is spot on this day and age, sad really
Thanks!
Gosh, my first super thanks! Very kind of you - super thanks to you too.
Great vid. I’m aiming for a similar plan!
Good luck!

My 4 year old nephew asking me(a man) if I am having a baby, was the point I realised I needed to sort out my eating.
