@York Cardiology Hi sir, i am 33 and chest pain and pain in arm but its gone now. i had skipping beats and heart palpation which is also gone. but sometimes when i wake up from sleep my heart beat gets faster . and sometimes if i eat salt or sugar my heart rate gets faster for 5 minutes and then slow down again. i dont understand why my heart beat gets faster sometimes and normal most of the time. i dont know if its because of stomach or heart problem.

I have fear of having my bp taken, I now have fear of the machine, the noise and while the cuff tightens, I can feel adrenaline running through my body, I have to keep taking it, the lowest I got was 132 over 82 but I was still anxious, I feel I can’t get a Normal reading now I have this fear, it’s not just at the doctors I’m now scared to do it myself.

I have that really badly too. I’m just now calming down abt it. My doctor was trying to double my bp meds and I was telling her I didn’t believe it was that high usually because I swell a lot when it’s truly high and I wasn’t. I was right. When I relaxed and cussed myself out the numbers came down to normal. I still get a higher number the first time so I sit still and wait several minutes for the second reading. You will get a baseline eventually but obsessing abt it drives it way up. In her office my bp was 198/100 at home it was 126/70. Anxiety will drive it crazy high don’t let anyone tell you differently. Still we must watch our stress, diets and drink water and exercise. Hugs♥️

Dear I agree with you 100% whatever you said. The only problem is that the doctors don’t agree with these kind of theories and don’t want to act and treat their patients as you said. They tell you to take the medicines as prescribed or change the doctor. Thank you very much for showing us the reality of the modern treatments. I believe in whatever you said and try to apply on me as much possible. A time will come that I might be without a doctor in future.

I was on Ramipril 2.5 mg for a year - I've recently come off it (without telling my doctor) and my BP is now LOWER than it was while I was on the medication! While on the medication, I continually struggled to stay under 140/90 - I've been off it for three weeks and now I'm usually around or under 120/80. This morning it was 113/75 with a 60 pulse. I think my HBP was caused purely by anxiety - I'm now practicing meditation, relaxation and deep breathing and try not to get stressed by taking my BP. That alone would cause so much anxiety and frustration. I would literally see the numbers climb as I worked myself into a state of panic, which is how I ended up having to take medication in the first place! I still monitor my BP twice a day - and replaced my machine with a new one to make sure I'm getting accurate results, but I no longer get stressed about it, knowing that even if it gets a bit high (which now it never does!) I can control it with my breathing. I also follow a whole-food diet (no sugar or ultra-processed food and I've cut out caffeine and alcohol as well) and stay active but I made those changes a year ago when I was first diagnosed. I think the anxiety (or the medication?) cancelled out the benefits of my healthy eating. The medication itself gave me anxiety knowing that I was putting chemicals in my body that could damage my kidneys and cause hyperkalaemia. When I saw my last blood results with borderline high potassium levels that increased sharply since I started taking Ramipril, I panicked. That's why I decided to come off the medication - this was not something I could have discussed with my GP - they just don't have the time and I know they would have wanted me to stay on the medication as it is easier for them. Instead, I started taking some supplements regularly in addition to a healthy diet, lifestyle and stress management (garlic oil, grapeseed extract, moringa powder, L-arginine, as well as vitamins D, B12, B6, B9 and magnesium) - not sure if any of these are contributing, but something must be working after a year of struggling with the medication!

I wore an ambulatory monitor and found that every time it took a reading it startled me, in other words made me jump! Night time was terrible,if I was asleep, when I could actually get to sleep. It just woke me with a jolt. I’m not sure what readings it gave the Doctor to deal with, he just said that the readings were inconclusive.

  • @sanekabc
    @sanekabc 3 роки тому +2

You should do a video on the newer technology used in some watches which don't rely on the inflatable cuff technology. Some measure throughout the night without you being aware of it. The accuracy isn't quite there yet but you can calibrate with a reliable inflatable cuff or simply add or substract as needed and we have the best of both worlds without that inflatable annoyance and stressor.

After listening to this brilliant video and having monitored my own blood pressure for 7 weeks I believe I am a reverse dipper as my readings are consistently higher at night and in the morning. I cannot get an ambulatory reading "because of covid", I can only with a great deal of difficulty get a phone appointment , always with a different doctor, despite the surgery calling me to make an appointment to see the doctor and the last one asked me what medication I wanted!! Completely frustrating and scarey. Wish I lived in York

I just got results today of a 24 hour monitor and it looks very bad. Spikes at night where I'm higher bp than during the day. I'm 47. I blame my recent lifestyle though and wonder can this be reversed?

My blood pressure goes up at night. I can tell when it's high because it wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep. Also, if my calcium is high I can't relax into a deep sleep because my shoulders won't relax. When I take a glucocorticoid which is in my asthma puffer, about 10 minutes later I fall into a deep sleep. I dream a lot during the night, rem sleep is not a problem. My calcium is a little bit above normal, but my doctor didn't think it was serious. I take hydrochlorothiazide for blood pressure. And arginine if it is higher than usual.

I had an episode of really bad lower back pain and went to the er to get checked. I had a bad case of dehydration and my kidneys got damaged and glomerular filtration went down, but then went up. Since that day my sleeping quality changed and I've started to get high blood pressure during my sleep (I got an ambulatory bllod pressure monitor). I don't know if this pressure is because of a really bad anxiety or my kidneys got damaged to the point my blood pressure system got screwed up. Now I'm getting high blood pressure while i sleep.
I'm getting checked to see if i can reverse or get medicated so I can dip my blood pressure while I sleep. I'm scared and anxious, but I got to keep fighting and have to find a way to get this under control and getting back to living a normal life.

I’m usually very sceptical of UA-cam videos on health, even some where the creators are , or purport to be, qualified medical practitioners. But this series, from a consultant cardiologist giving us all the benefit of his advice free, with no dietary fad to peddle or product to sell, is worth its weight in gold. This is what the internet is for. Ideally it would on free to view TV, as a series of shorts, perhaps with similar episodes on other aspects of health.

      How are you today?
I measured 160/80 at the doctor's office while I was there for a different thing (I was pretty stressed by that). At home, over the span of a few days, it slowly came down to about 130/80. They suspect it might be stress related because of this.
In a few days I am getting a 24h monitor. They want to measure a full day/night cycle because if it drops at night, it's even more likely just stress. If it doesn't drop there's a different cause that needs treatment. Maybe lifestyle changes or medication.

Bless her, she did, and my dad had 5 doses of Albuterol removed. He lived for three more years without weird rythyms until 92.

Fear was my enemy when I was dizzy and the doctor, after just 1 test, said I had high blood pressure and put me on meds.
Fear was became my friend when I realized that the meds. made things worse and I took steps to eat healthy and exercise. Now I don't have high blood pressure and I don't take meds. anymore.
So the problem isn't fear, but how it is being used. The fear of God is a good think because we have sinned against Him and need to have our sin debt taken care of. The good news is that Jesus took our punishment on the cross paying our sin debt in full. What He requires of us is to repent and put our trust in Him for eternal life and then we can enjoy Him foreverMore.
Thank you for this video and helping me understand all the details of blood pressure.

It's great you bring this subject up. BP is not a physical constant like gravitational pull. Actually, a
new German study determined that higher BP lowers morbidity of older people (European heart journal). Who of the huge world population has actually BP checks? 1% ?
    Still, many unknowns.

My blood pressure is always high when I know I’m going to see a doctor. It’s starts a few days before, while I’m there and I feel fine when I’m at home. I’m stressed because anything I mention he’s ready to prescribe a pill. Never heard him say anything about changing diet, exercise, anything, just pills. So both my husband and I are doing what we can to better our health naturally ,through diet, walking, vitamins, sleep, whatever it takes. No body cares more about us than us! And when my time is up, it’s up! When the Good Lord says so❤️

This is exactly what happened with me, I ended up with atherosclerosis, got a pain down my left arm, during exercise felt sick and came out in a cold sweat. Ended up with an angiogram and my pulmonary artery was 95% blocked. A week later I had a triple heart graft.
Now 3 years on, I am on Testosterone replacement therapy (Nibido), due to low Testosterone.
I feel way better now, I go to the gym 4 times a week and play walking football at 64y, I am fitter now than I was in my late 40s.
I suspected low Testosterone complicated all of your health, just with inflammation in your body causes your arteries to harden, so I also take vitamin D3 and K2 together to help remove the Calcium build up in my arteries and hopefully help put it back where it should be, in my bone's.
I hope this my help someone.

I would really appreciate a video on blood pressure differences between both arms and your arms and legs.
I would demand that ambulatory blood pressure monitoring before I would accept drug treatment. In the US, you have to arm yourself with knowledge or your doctor’s health insurance records algorithm loves to over prescribe and the doctor has to override that in order to treat you individually. Not all are willing to do this, especially because their records can be searched electronically for their compliance with insurance “guidelines” and their malpractice insurance rates raised accordingly-making it very costly to treat you.

I’m a pharmacist and absolutely hate the big pharma. I’ve become very jaded and believe that the companies are only out to profit. When I read an article, I make sure the researchers are not based out of the US since the clinical studies are manipulated and skewed to benefit the particular drug that’s been presented. I’m working on lowering my mom’s BP naturally. She is on 5 medications and her BP still spikes to 205/105. She’s not obese, exercises and eats healthy. Some supplements to consider: magnesium, glutathione, lipoid acid, L argenine, vitamins A C and E, non flushing niacin and for nocturnal high BP, melatonin.

I have done my own research on how the access insulin and stress elevate your blood pressure of course a result of inflammation from access omega 6 in your body with having a high refined carb diet also learn how to balance minerals.... especially potassium and magnesium that you need every day for the heart to function properly with right amount of calcium and sea salt.

Synthroid made me so sick for 4 years. Been on natural desiccated thyroid hormone medication for 6 years. Doing much better. My BP is usually good in the day when I take it at home (it's sky high in the Dr's office, so he asked me to keep a reading at home, which I bring to every appt.). When I take it at home in the evening, most of the time it's high. Most videos talk about BP when you're sleeping. But what if it's high when you're taking it yourself around 10 or 11 pm? I have such bad anxiety. If I did the 24 hour one, I know it will shoot up when I feel it taking it. And besides that, my bp is completely different when I'm on my feet making dinner or whatever, as opposed to sitting in a chair quietly for 10 minutes before starting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your channel! My bp machine is an Omron, I'll have to find the watch you mentioned, thanks!
