Hey Charlie, interesting perspective. While I don't agree with you, I can respect your viewpoint. For me, the ease of use trumps all the other issues. If you really need timestamp, etc...I think professionals would just go higher end with the mic options. For the average consumer, I feel like the DJI Mic 2 wins over! But, I was really interested to see what your thoughts were!
I think ease of use vs "pro" gear (rode is as pro as the iphone pro, just a marketing thing), is not all that different, it's to make it easier for someone, DJI tries to make it convenient as possible for a single camera system, while rode tries to make it easy as possible for multiple camera systems. Insta360 tried to make it even easier by allowing airpod mic to work with the insta cameras, and it was a disaster, but they tried with different bluetooth options originally. Ease of use is darn high on the scale of desires, I dont think anyone likes having difficulty while working or editing.
I’m only interested in the Bluetooth feature. After I did the latest firmware update, I turn off the low cut and turn off the noise cancellation, it sounds great with my iPhone 15 Pro max. I also tried it with my Sony cameras, the sound is just as good as Rode.
great thing is that you can buy the transmitter themselves for $100 if bluetooth is all you care for.
Which product that is smaller and do internal recording? I find these two are the smallest.
fullaim x5, i have a review on my channel
