Krebs - Jesu, meines Lebens Leben - Metzler Organ, Poblet, Hauptwerk

- Johann Ludwig Krebs probably needs no introduction. Famous composer, organist and pupil of Johann Sebastian Bach: der einzige Krebs im Bache.
Hereby a chorale prelude on the hymn 'Jesu, meines Lebens Leben', perfect for the demonstration of one of the endless possibilities of creating a beautiful cantus firmus registration. It also shows how well the 8 foot stops of this organ (in the accompaniment) blend together. I use the latest beta version of the OrganArt Media sample set of the Metzler organ of Poblet.

It's so beautiful again, the chorale preludes of old masters are so incredibly versatile and touch the heart, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful recording. Best regards, Roland
Thanks!
Wonderful piece and played with your customary style and elegance, Ralph!
Thanks, Paul!
Der Klang der Orgel ist wunderschone und magisch.. Der Organist ist sehr gut. Vielen Danke ❤
Danke!
Thanks, Ralph, for your first contribution with the (hopefully) final set.
Beautiful registration using the Principal 8 with added Viola 8, which enhances the Principal sound, making it a bit more "stringy"
Thanks, Helmut!
Lovely.
Thanks
Wonderful Ralph!👏👏
thanks
Really nice playing - speed spot on. A great chorale from Krebs
Thanks, Richard!
How lovely ... his sound certainly reflecting Bach, but also what God gave him as a unique voice! I had never heard of Krebs, and this was a lovely introduction!
Thanks!
Loved seeing the score alongside a view of you playing. Lovely!
Thanks!
Excellent Ralph, I’m a big fan of Krebs!😊
Thanks!
Wonderful in every way; Bravo, Ralph.
Thanks!
Beautiful music Ralph. Not easy to play with the abundance of pedal notes! Bit of course, no problem at all for you!
Thanks, Rien. It's a nice exercise, I'm sure you can do it too.
Many thanks for the lovely recording, Ralph.
Don't you also have the impression that BWV 659 could have been a clear model here?
Yes, I'm sure Krebs used BWV 659, it's too obvious. Playing this piece in the tempo of BWV 659 would however not work (in my opinion)
Magnificent chorale, magnificent instrument! Curious: I recorded No. 5 today!
Thanks!
When is the surround version of this set scheduled for release?
Probably October!
