"Quite simply they're the best heavy infantry in Middle Earth." This is from a discussion with my 9 year old daughter last Sunday.
We also concluded that whilst Rohan provides the best cavalry in general, the Knights of Dol Amroth are the best heavy cavalry.
The Elves are the best archers and likely the best light infantry.
We couldn't decide on what Gondor/Arnor provides. Except perhaps the Rangers of the North and of Ithilien being excellent scouts.
I suspect that the discussion will continue when we finish watching The Battle of the Five Armies (extended) next weekend. 😊❤❤❤😊

Could you possibly make a video explaining why Sauron possessed the strongest will amongst others in Middle Earth, and how it was that others contested with that will. Like how does Denethor’s will compare with, Aragorn, or Gandalf, or even Galadriel, and how they compare to Sauron? Like what made Sauron’s will so unique and powerful, especially against other Maiar?

I definitely prefer Tolkien's Dwarves over the others I have found in older tales. While there are exceptions like the Petty Dwarves, in general I think they are very much a "ride or die" culture.

Ah yes the Naugrim, a fan favorite to b sure. To it would seem these are the peoples that humans would b in ancient times, strong, stubborn greedy but also loyal and proud. Always loved how they were the adopted children of the maker; they weren't intended but were welcomed in the end 😊
Also love how Tolkien corrected all on the spelling of Dwarves instead of dwarf 😂

So they're a proud warrior culture with really good armor, who have lost their homeland and been scattered to the winds in a diaspora, but live in their own enclaves speaking their ancestral tongue among themselves? -- They're Mandalorians?

Great Video! While we are on the topics of Dwarves, I had have some ideas for What if videos:
    1. What if Gimli took the One Ring?
    2. What if Dain Ironfoot accepted Sauron's offer?
    3. What if Balin's colony in Moria still remained in tact and was still there during the events of the Fellowship of the ring?
    4. What if Erebor never fell to Smaug?
    5. What if the Dwarves lost the Battle of Azanulbizar?
    6. What if Thrain never got captured by the Necromancer and made it to Erebor?
    7. What if Thorin found the One Ring instead of Bilbo?
    8. What if the Arkenstone was never found in the first place?

In many ways the Dwarves portray the people the originated from It is often in the same way in sagas that something must be reclaimed and if you mix it with other big parts of Norse way of living you get something interesting. I think Tolkien did a great job taking Norse dwarfs mix in Norse culture and sprinkle some fantasy on top he left out some of the things about the Norse that he didn't feel was right for the dwarves and then started writing. It became a small tapestry woven together from all these things to become something new and unique culture
