@Károly Eller What version of MAX are you using? I believe Arch&Design shaders were intorduced in MAX 2008 or MAX 2009. Another reason would be if your renderer is set to something else than MentalRay/iray/quicksilver and thus hidden because they're incompatible with the currently selected renderer.
thank you a lot It is amazing for me because i can understand the explanation. But, can you tell me how i can make it in vray? or What are those parameters equals in vray? or If possible to make it in mental ray and export to vray? thanks again.
You can achieve great results in any renderer, so long as you know how to set the shaders (materials) up. Nowdays I use Corona and FStorm for my professional and personal work, for example.
Hi! In the downloads page (link in the description) I've provided a texture I've made that worked for me in numerous paid projects. I'm going to make a couple of videos today since I have some time this weekend, so I think one of them will be how to use it. But in summary, this is how to: What I do first is create a spline that represents my kerb. Then I give it a 9x13 rectangular profile (or whatever the measurements are in your country) and enable the mapping coords generation. Then I apply the texture/material. Once that's done, I slap on a UVW X-Form to edit the generated mapping, usually giving it 2 repetitions to wrap around the kerb, rotating the texture 90 degrees so it looks right and adjusting its length to be ~90cm for each kerbstone. Aaaand that's about it! Hope this helps!
For my professional work I mostly use Mental Ray and iray. Mental Ray comes bundled with most Autodesk software, iray is available free with 3Ds MAX and can be bought for maya and other 3D programs.
This is amazing. Thanks for showing how to unblur those edges, didnt know what to do when i put stripes on a car once!!!
No problem, glad it helped out!

How would you go about crating a kerb?

Great One man! Now can you explain with Vray?
Leebano Rocha the principles will be more or less the same. I don't use VRay and don't intend to, unfortunately. I've moved on to Corona and FStorm.
