- Iyanla Vanzant works with a couple from Knoxville, Tennessee who say that they are trapped in a sexless marriage. Tiffany and Nick have been married for five years, but they admit to rarely having sex, sometimes going a full year without being intimate. Tiffany feels that the problem rests with Nick's lack of initiative. Nick says Tiffany's nagging and controlling ways turn him off. But sex is not the real problem here, painful past hurts and a lack of intimacy are tearing this couple apart. Iyanla was her best and most personable before the new hired stylist, MUA & all the extraness OWN started forcing! It was obvious that even she was so over the shenanigans towards the ending of the show.

I don't understand why being married before is such a bad thing.
IKR. It shows that a man isn’t afraid of commitment but it looks bad if you have multiple divorces.
It could be depending on the reason for the divorce. If the ex is still around questions can be asked.

You learn >90% about a person you’re considering involving yourself with jusr by learning about their past relationships.
And if they were married to someone else before you, that’s a very strong indication of how they are in marriage and how they will be in marriage with you. For them to completely ignore that whole vow dedicated to someone else and to overlook that entire time in their lives - even if “it was just for a couple years” “back when in my early 20s” when “I was young and dumb” - is their intentionally not telling you who they are and what their life experience is. Marrying is one of, if not THE most important choice you will ever make, and to fail to tell someone that important that you’ve made that choice already is huge.
Poor woman, my husband did the same thing. Such a betrayal, he knew I wouldn’t have married him had I’d known.

@@vturner he was telling me a story that he had already told me when we were dating and accidentally gave extra details. I started asking questions and he admitted the truth when he realized the cat was out of the bag. It destroyed our marriage, I never recovered from the deception.
It is such a betrayal.... you’re left wondering if your spouse can lie about that, what else are they lying about.... who even are they?
@@noble604 exactly but the worst for me was loss of trust in myself and I found that to be unforgivable, and it is unforgivable! Never stay, cut your losses and try your best to recover.
😞Honestly? I don’t see how you can blame yourself for that. That was that other person’s lies and omissions. They chose that.
Yes -- we look at ourselves and we think we “should have” seen the red flags and been more aware and maybe that is true that we were not as discerning as we “should” have been in wanting what we wanted and in going along with certain things ....for whatever reason.. even by outright enabling bad behavior ... but
Let’s be clear, it was that other person who chose to deceive, either by omission or by commission. They acted and you were placed in the no-win position to respond to that deceit.
Let yourself off the hook for that one. They were the actor. If they hadn’t chosen the action, you would not have been placed in the position to give the response. The burden of acting untruthfully lies with them.
