    Hey Bud Im Joe I have to say you have done one of the best demo vids for this bird I have seen. I have done the bypass and installed a AR8360T have you done that and installed your own? I have this bird on my work table and I have been having issues on what to set my rates and what to set my flaps and wing sweep in and out to mix with the elevator I have my as3x and safety on switch b and I have my flight modes to my wing in and out to switch D to do a mix when I do wings out and in on the elevator. I dont like BH setting on flaps I dont think they are down enuff on take off etc bc I fly off a long trimmed grass field about 800 feet and had a hell of time with motionrc b2 and thats another story to get to take off finally. I spoke with BH and they weren't much help. Im trying to trim the elev up and rudder smashing into each other. Im having tons of issues so any help I would appreciate it. Like I said you gave a great demo. help me out bud. Thanks

      Thanks for your comment. There's a lot to take in here, but let me start by saying yes, I did bypass the stock gyro. I am running a 10ch Lemon Receiver with integrated gyro on my plane. I ignored the flap settings per the manual and went well beyond with no adverse effects (to me). My mid rates are the manual's recommended "max flaps", while my actual maximum flaps are more. Regarding the elevator hitting the rudder servo, what I (and others have done) is to carve out part of the elevator on the bottom side, where it isn't noticeable so that it can move more. Talking with you about this, it makes me want to do a video on how I setup my plane and go over things like elevator trim settings with wings back, transition changes with flap mix, etc. Maybe I'll get around to doing a video about that in the near future.

    Great job thanks, like how you talk through trims with each change. What flight times are you getting?

      Thank you. On a 6000mah battery, I get about 3.5 minutes and come down at storage voltage (8.5v/cell).

    Please take a look at your screws on the inside of your wing pivot pins. Your wings dont look secured correctly. Make sure to tighten the screws and ensure that they have grabbed the threads.

      Yes, on the last flight the wing came loose. This plane was second hand and I'll give you one guess who the previous owner was. Let's just say he posted about it on RCG and created a lot of discussion. lol
      I have since spent way more time than I wanted to, but I think I finally got things situated in this model.

    Looks great and looks like it flies great as well. Is it stable without the gyros?

      I bypassed the onboard gyro (which I've read and heard is extremely limiting and a lot of people have found too cumbersome. However, I am using the Lemon 10channel receiver with built-in gyro and it flew well enough with that.
      But, to answer your question, I did not try disabling the gyro to see how it flew without it. I imagine it would fly just fine without a gyro though. It wasn't inherently unstable or anything.

      @@ShadowVFX Thanks for the quick response. I was just curious because I loved flying 'old school' RC planes for years and years but for the last few years I've been flying multi-rotor drones so wondered how gyro stabilization works on aircraft. BTW you flew the Lancer very well. Regards from Thailand!

    Great flight quick question how did you set up the reverse thrust

    • @ShadowVFX
      @ShadowVFX  Рік тому

      The ESC is designed for it. It has a single signal wire you plug into an open port on the receiver. Then, you assign that port (channel 10, for example) to a switch on your transmitter. When the switch is one way, any throttle input will be positive. Then, when you flip the switch, any throttle input is reversed.

      I must come clean I kept pulling the slider to jump thru looking for the swing.... I guess I have to go back and rewatch. Ohh there it is. Just a lot of ads...I like to "jump past" the embedded ads@@justinmills4566

      Just fyi, my account is not monetized. Those ads you're seeing are forced on there by google, not me. I'm not earning a dime from Goggle on this channel, lol.
