While growing up we'd always make eccles cakes. Drid fruit like raisins, currants and mixed peel cooked with butter and sugar and spices before being covered in pastry. Not for everyone but I quite like them.
walkers changed their branding when they were bought by lays.... but Pepsi is the mother company and if you study the logo you can see it is in the same style as pepsi.
Hey guys 😀! Here from Melbourne Australia. I had the same reaction as both of you when I tried all and even more than these UK Snacks from here in ALDI. I talked to my friends in UK and they said it's no more made in traditional way and ingredients, as now corporates wanted more of profits , so they have taken shortcuts by replacing Butter with Cheap Margarine blocks, Oil, and just lots of sugar and salt 😖.. Thanks for giving Indian snacks No.1. (Let me tell you the truth, in India, if any items are bad or just average, word spreads like wildfire, people won't spend a penny on it and company goes bankrupt, so that's why all companies makes sure it's on top level, as Indians always wanted their every bite to be worthy of their money💯👌🏼)

Why is Lays called Walkers in the UK? However, Pepsi acquired Walkers and re-branded it with the Lay's logo and products in 1989. The snack food is exactly the same, but PepsiCo decided to keep the Walkers name to ensure customer brand loyalty in the United Kingdom.
Walkers are an old English company who were bought out by the owner of Lays. In the agreement the name had to be retained so the new owners changed the logo design. Eccles cakes are sweet flaky pastry full of raisins (vine fruits are raisins, currants and sultanas all forms of grapes). They were invented in Eccles near Manchester. Shortbread and all our other biscuits are rather dry as they are made to go with the 165 million cups of tea that we drink every day. Twiglets are flavoured with Marmite, a strong salty yeast extract. Our chocolate tastes way better than yours because, by law, it must contain at least 20% of cocoa solids, which is double the US minimum. That was great fun to watch............................................................the ancient Englishman.
