Another update where the pickup sits right now. Hope to get everything finised up in a month or two so subscribe amd like the video and i will be back with another update soon.
I cant remember the name of the program but there is a free version that you download. After a few hours of playing with it and watching some youtube videos on the program i had most of it figured out. Really isnt to bad and if you have any questions you can email optimal welding, he was quick to answer any i had.
What kind of radiator, intercooler, and A/C condenser combo did you use for it all to fit for cooling package? That looks like a tight squeeze for everything to fit. Also, Did you have to special make your intercooler piping?
I got a champion aluminum radiator, intercooler from a '99 superduty, and a stock A/C condensor from vintage air. It is a tight fit for everything but it fits really nice. Had to do some modifications to the front core support, trim the grill and grill insert and also had to build a new hood latch. Amd yes i had to build new intercooler piping. The intercooler requires a lot more work but its worth it.
Next time you want to build your bumper hit me up will send it to the same way "move" does with any name or numbers you lack there of you want and for less money
One helluva job!, I just bought a 71 f250 high boy it's in great shape but I'm thinking of a complete resto in it, was it fairly easy installing the Cummins?, I've of that too!.
I would also like to know about the gauges and wiring. I am doing this exact swap right now and I would like to do the same setup. How did you get the temp, bolt, Speedo, etc etc wired? Any and all details would be awesome. Thanks.
These engines require no electronics to run except for sensors to run the gauges, a wire to the starter, and wiring to the alternator to charge the battery. You can even get a wind-up inertia starter and do away with the battery & alternator lol!
On the ignition wiring i used the ford coil wire for the "hold" wire on the shut off soleniod. Ran a wire from the starter solenoid to the "pull" wire on the shit of solenoid. I ran a external regulator off a older dodge for the charging system.
I went over it some what in a older video. Basically just bought a kit from LMC Truck and its pretty self explanitory. It was a universal kit that you might be able to find cheaper from a different vendor. Just mount the actuator and wire it and its good to go.
Im sure it would just depends what your going to do with the pickup. I have seen a 44 break in half with a 429 in it, but it was abussed. If its going to stay on the road it will pribably be fine.
Depends, they make adapter plates for cummins to many transmissions. I used a ford zf-5 transmission and got the proper adapter plate for that. You can use a stock dodge auto or manual trans. Or look in ford or chevy trans
Classy build mate, luv it !!
Great build mate.! 👍
Beatiful truck !!
Gorgeous!
Beautiful Truck man. Sounds great.
Love this ride.
I'm in love. Welding Rig
Great job!
Amazing work!! Love to see the optimal welding bed on was thinking of building one or keeping my box on my 76. Looks amazing!!
Thanks! Yeah the bed was pretty straight forward with his plans but had to learn the CAD software and that took some time.
@@nwfarmer8724 What else did you have to get to view the plans, it’s the only thing keeping me from doing it really

Cummins is a simple swap. Just depends on how much money you want to spend on conversion parts or fabricate the parts yourself
clean my dream truck is like that but gloss green . how u have 51 miles ?

Just got it together when i posted the video
@@nwfarmer8724 we you can pls make new vid with it i now it . hard to rn because of farming . I now how it is bro.
Put pipes up side cab
Could you send some pictures of the flatbed
What did you use for undercoating? POR15 or Rustoleum or somethin else?
Its a product called chassis saver. Identical to POR 15
Do swap for people also? That's my question and thanks for this informative post.
Yeah i probably would for the right price

I'd like to know the brand of your tie down track on the rear. I want that on my bed rails.
If you look up cargo tie down track you can find it. I believe i ordered mine on amazon.
can you do a run down of what you did for wiring? ive got the same project but with a 68 mercury and im at a complete loss for wiring lol
Yeah i will try to do a run down when i get a chance. Pretty simple. Do you want to know about the wiring for the cummins?
@@nwfarmer8724 for the engine itself, yeah what did/didnt you use. the headlights and such i can probably figure out lol

I'm almost done with my build but need help with the ignition switch wiring and alternator wiring as well. Do you think you could help me

Do you think you could of fit a superduty axel for a dual tires in the rear
Yes it would fit but the bed needs to be a bit wider so tires don't stick out
How did you do the remote locking? that is slick

Are you used a ram truck and just sit the ford body on?

These door panels came on the pickup factory. This is a xlt package
where did you source the adapter plate for the zf5??
It was a small machine shop in idaho that was building them. Dont think they are anymore. You can get them from diesel conversion specialist

Hey from Australia 🇦🇺 what model Chevy did the centre console come from
Somewhere around 2013 and any of the pickups. Not sure on exact year of mine. Bought it off ebay.
Hey bud what are the seat rails from to mount the seats
Bought the rails straight from corbeau seats. I believe they are the generic 1 inch tall mounts. Then i made brackets to hold those
Can you give me an estimate of what it all ended up costing you? I'm wanting to do the same setup with my 78 F250 Camper Special
I probably have 20k in parts into the pickup not including my time.
What wheels and tires are those?

Yeah no rubbing
Dang I have same truck just dosent have a Cummins yet but I’m trying to find a 6inch lift for it but can’t find a good one
would you sell this truck? Im a serious buyer if so
Everything is for sale for the right price
@@nwfarmer8724 Its so hard to tell what you have in it, 20k?
There is well over 20k in parts and to many hours to count. It would take a lot of money for me to sell it.
How much
What do you got?
@@nwfarmer8724 I'm asking you how much for the truck
You want to sell this truck ?😊
I would sell it for the right price but i do have a lot of money and time into the build
@@nwfarmer8724 how much are you thinking ?
?
It would probably be close to 50k, but i would have to sit down and add everything to come up with a more accurate number
