It probably came with a 400 M. It's basically in the same 351 M, Windsor, Cleveland engine family. Very cool, man! I used to own a '67 half ton short bed. When the original FE 352 blew up, I replaced it with a nice FE 390.
Didn’t like a 79 grill, Blasphemy! 🤘🏻
I would have found an NV5600 for that truck ! It would have bolted right up with no adapter and in my eyes, it's a better trans than the ZF5 ( I own a ZF6 and would take the NV5600 over it any day) I've driven my 02 3500 Dodge with an NV5600, hauling something almost every day of it's life. It's gone 200,000 miles and never serviced it (except a clutch.)
I would love to have a nice truck I am 70 years old god bless and be safe
lol the 351m and 400 are in the boat anchor family ,
i put a 73 grill on my 79 just needed the 73 headlight buckets and changed the headlight pigtails . now i did have to redrill my inner grill for the older buckets but all in all wasnt that big of a deal
I’m really interested in building one with a 12v would u be able to give me some more information on how to
6:38 hey that's a nice old school phazer
Do you have photos of how you did the motor mounts?
I would like to have one with a four cylinder a d pipes up side cab to see how it sounds
What color Gray code is on your truck?
Ello - I'm doing a similar build and I'm curious to which radiator your using that has the inlet/outlets on swapped from what stock 73-79 ford radiators come with.
Champion radiators. They have a option for chevy inlets and outlets so it's opposite of ford
Can I get the plans for the motor mounts
10:16 Where is the fuel tank vent? You will want that.
With three inch pipes
79 is like the most desired year its wild to me that you didn't like it haha
I always liked the 73-75 grill the best but tge 79 grills are definitly growing on me
‘79 grills are my favorite.i hate the ‘78 with round headlights
What company did you get that fuel tank sending unit from?
The sending unit came from speed hut gauges. Thats where i got my gauges from. They will make them any lenth you want. Seems to be very accuate.
I have a f350 74 ! Have 12 value but the transmission is allison 545 4 speed auto my question is should I stay with the transmission the f350 is a car hauler
The only problem i see is clearence under the cab. I think that is a big transmission.
@@nwfarmer8724 i had planned cuuing in to the fire wall and raising the area floor i bought a f800 truck 12valve p pump 210 hp intercooler 96
@@nwfarmer8724 thks
those are not original rear springs are they?
Yes original rear springs. The plan is to change them out and get rid of the blocks
@@nwfarmer8724 interesting. i dont recall them as long as those. then ford went to shorter springs in the 80's which is to say no springs at all. (1986 f350 dually 4x, if youve never been abused by one of those, youve never suffered real abuse at the whim of a truck).
i would wager this truck rides rather smoothly.
ford did similar with front shackles. first in back, then in front then back , then bolloxed the whole mess for coils
Any updates dude?
Farming will be slowing down and i will give more updates and finish the pickup soon
