Sport mode makes the steering feel much better, and the shift points are much more natural as well. Like Evie, I'm fun sized, so I have to keep my seat raised all the way up to see over the hood. I've had my BS Badlands for a year and still love it as much as the day I drove it off the lot.
Don’t know why, but I love this car more than the actual Bronco. However, I haven’t driven en the Bronco yet, just the Bronco Sport. Love the retro color and the simple design in and out.. there’s just something about that car that makes me wish I had one. Thanks again for such a thorough review!!
Got a BS Big Bend for my wife in May. It's a great SUV! The 1.5 3 cylinder engine is surprisingly strong and sounds good! The BS reminds me of my old Jeep Cherokee XJs. Small SUV that is very capable! Though I would like to see a few changes when it gets refreshed. They should make it about 6 inches longer and 2 inches wider. It would be nice if rear windows went down all the way.
Got mine today. Love it, except I ordered it over the phone and the cargo management system wasn't mentioned and can't be installed afterwards. It was $195 and so worth having. Not that I'd use it to eat off of but it's great to have a "shelf" and coverage for what in the hatchback.
@@jdmoney1000 I get that but it’s still to expensive for what is I mean this thing looks soooo cheap honestly the escape looks better 😭 and the interior doesn’t look any nicer than some really entry level vehicles like a Hyundai Kona or Toyota Corolla cross both of which are like $15-$20k cheaper
According to Consumer Reports, its below average reliability, if you trust that source. The most reliable in class they rated the Subaru Forester and Nissan Rogue.
I’ve had a 2022 big bend for over a year now and I can confidently say this thing….. is not that great. The suspension is rigid and stiff feeling. I’ve had issues with it losing alignment easier than any vehicle I have owned.
The only thing more stylish is Kiddos adorable outfit. So many thoughtful, interior features. Too bad about the subpar arm rest. Why are they so difficult to design?
We had a bronco sport before the wife got a full size bronco. I liked the hatch area setup better than out full size bronco. I understand why the broncos door needs to swing out but it isnt as nice as the sports hatch. Also the lights in the hatch work great for tailgating. U need to add lighting to the bronco. Ford includes rubber seat covers for that back of the rear seats for the sport but not the big brother which is dumb. Fuel mileage on our sport was around 30 and its around 18 on the larger one if you care about that. Besides that we like the full size a lot better. Oh the headlights on the baby bronco are much better at night as well. The full size bronco headlights suck.
Not a fan of this specific model/color combo, but the BS sport is a really nice daily driver. The perfect size for someone used to driving a smaller sports car, but wanting a smaller SUV (I have a 2020 BMW 330i M). I fell in love with the looks and styling of it. Maybe not the fastest or most luxurious, but definitely the coolest looking.
I’ve had mine for about a month. I absolutely love it. I also have a 2020 BMW and find the seats in this FAR more comfortable. It’s decently quiet and although my BMW is obviously faster, I still prefer driving this.
I test drove a bronco Sport. Didn't' like how claustrophobic it felt with those thick pillars. Felt too blind while driving it. They need a small window for seeing past the a-pillar.
It looks nice but 45k is an awful lot of money for this. If you're looking for an offroad capable SUV, there are so many better used options than this (Land Rover Disco, Lexus GX, 4Runner, etc). Once you add in dealer markups you could be wandering into the 50k range which is absolutley disgusting for something of this nature
Yeah not worth it at all, but you can get one of these anniversary ones saving $1K alone just on the baby blue paint that I'm not feeling with the white/red grill, go carbon metallic main body, skip all the fluff, and its $35,640 after destination. Still pricey, but does come standard w/ AWD and a hitch and what not.
@@rustlesee There are some new more affordable offerings though that seem decent and rather similar interior size. Some are even under $30K: Trax, Trailblazer, Envista, Corolla Cross, Forester, Tuscon, Sportage, Rogue. That's if you really even need a SUV, as I was thinking of buying my mom a refreshed Nissan Versa. Under $22K in SR trim with intelligence cruise control and other safety features for her. IMO if smart people would keep the car purchase to under half their annual gross salary. To buy a $48K car, I think you should at minimum have ~$100K income individually, which is less than 20% of the US population.
It looks like a 20k soft-roader. For that price you could get a couple year old GX or 4-runner that can actually perform offroad and will last FOREVER....
@@afcgeo882 that’s where it gets even more confusing cause the current full size Bronco is based off the Ranger platform where the old Broncos used the F-series truck frame. Got to use the platforms that sell I guess haha.
@@vr4787 It’s not confusing. All models of cars keep growing. The current Ranger is bigger than the 1990’s F-150 and the Maverick is actually bigger than the 1990’s Ranger. So it makes all the sense.
I would be quite embarrassed if I paid anything more than maybe $25/$30k for this. The color combo/package seems merely trendy and already looks dated to me. Regardless, good review!
Horrifically overpriced...I can't imagine buying this instead of a CX-50 or even a higher trim Corolla Cross. At least the Maverick has the utility of the bed but these higher trim Bronco Sports seem like an awful option compared to other offerings.
Not to seem rude, but I have to ask why are a helicopter pilot and "non auto expert" doing car reviews? :D And would Evie still take the Heritage after she's seen the new Free Wheeling trim?
Fair question for those who miss the first part of my title "automotive expert". It's crazy but I've been reviewing cars for nearly 20 years. That said, Evie's non-expert input is incredible valuable since it represents the concerns of average car shoppers. As for the Free Wheeling Bronco Sport...forget Evie...I want it!! :)
Way.. Way too expensive.. It's a maverick inside and designed to be a 22k dollar interior.. it's 10k more than a loaded Rav4 hybrid.. It's 4runner money..
I see what they were going for with this version, but instead of a cool little retro bronco, it’s a feminized overpriced bronco wannabe. For this price, why not get a fully loaded Subaru crosstrek and have enough money left over to put on some good off-road tires maybe a lift and other extras and still have 5-10k in your pocket?

I agree with Evie about the hood. I did not like the high hood on the test drive and the gutless 1.5T 3 cylinder.
It looks great. I also wonder about pedestrian safety and decreased fuel economy.
Fantastic video!😸
Not so sure I'm digging the baby blue with white/red grill. I think I'd save $1K and pair it with the carbonized gray metallic as the main color.

How does a Bronco Sport have a heritage? I get the full size Bronco having a heritage edition but has there been a previous Bronco Sport generation?
Yes, the Bronco II.

Ford has had far and away the most recalls of any automaker for the last year so far. Make of that what you will.
