No matter how impractical and poorly built the bronco is, it does it’s one job really well which is one-upping the guy at your office park that has a TRD pro that he also doesn’t use to off-road
I'd rather have a TRD pro... Also "it's" = it is. FIX IT.

Only works if you pull up on Monday after a weekend of mudding, trailing, and bashing and you haven't put the doors back on, plus it's raining and you walk in the office with a pancho and a cast, because during the weekend festivities you broke your💪 and lost a🦷.

I have an FJ Cruiser and it runs as expected- excellent. Reliability also excellent. Have been lusting for a Bronco. This may have increased my appreciation for the FJ.
Like about any car, wait for the last model year before the next generation. Most of the bugs are worked out, and the dealership wants them gone yesterday.
The broncos are super cool. I think someone with an fj would really like one of these. This guy was hurt by someone has a very odd view of things don't let it make you think they aren't great. I've only had sports cars and sport sedans and want one. They drive pretty dang. I think they age very good. At about a 100k miles the 4 cylinder will likely need a little work, maybe a turbo and de carboned. But worth it imo
FJ was a god tier 4x4. Toyota should bring it back.
Fjs are just going to go up in value because they are so good at what they do so I'd keep it if I were you
Was all up for a new Bronco. I have a 2010 FJ and love it. Plus it is not depreciating It curbed the desire for a Bronco unless there is a green Heritage edition. But reviews have been less than stellar.

I’m a hard core GM guy. I bought a Bronco a year ago and freaking love it!
“It deserves to be built better” is the perfect statement. Could really see buying/enjoying one of these if someone like Toyota made it.

The landcruiser is coming back
If Toyota made it, there'd be a $10,000 mark up, and they'd still be reserved out for the next 8 months. Toyota allocates so few vehicles to the US anymore.
Guess what they made it and almost nobody bought it when new.
Now the used market for those is crazy and there are people bold enough to ask MSRP on a 10yr old one.

I own a 2023 2 door base manual Sasquatch and my headliner is fine, it drives great and is fun to drive, it's not perfect, but the top comes off, and the doors too and it's a fun lifestyle vehicle. IT"S NOT A soccer moms luxury SUV, it's a life style vehicle for those that want it. My temporary car I drove while waiting for mine to be built was a fun "zoom-zoom" Mazda3, but it was boring compared to the Bronco. I have been to the mountains and the desert and explored places a more comfortable SUV/CUV just can't go.
It's a lifestyle thing!
I've owned manuals all my life, both sports cars and Tacoma(s) TRD 4x4 and I love my Bronco. I been to Moab for a week doing trails including Hell's Revenge & Fins and Things, and out of the box it a highly capable wheeler, taking my ass down some truly butt clenching stuff and I've got years of wheeling in my Tacoma(s) and previous trucks.
It's crawler gear had me hanging in my seat with the seat belt holding me back and it's approach and departure angles had me sure I'd scrape bumpers at the bottom with a steep "U" shaped, but it didn't; my old Tacoma would have. I've been on many wheeling outings with other owners going places I didn't want to, but the Bronco handled it!
Bent up a pair of sliders because the run off from record snows made a boulder field extremely treacherous, after washing away all the smaller rocks and dirt, but no damage to the Bronco other than a few scratches on the skid plates. The sliders did their job and were replaceable.
Thanks to price protection and ordering, I only paid $37K for my Sasquatch, base manual, and today's prices are $17K more than that for one with everything I have, plus a few niceties, so I'm ecstatic, my Bronco is worth more than I paid.
I've got 6K miles in road trips with more than a 3rd of that off road and no problems. My gas mileage in town is the only draw back, but I admit, I use the turbos too much to stay with SoCal traffic, I could do better, but the manual is so fun!
That's the thing, this vehicle is NOTHING like the original Bronco of the 1960s-70s.
That was a truly practical, sturdy, and durable product. I want a brand new original Bronco from the 1960s.
Hey you're not allowed to have an opinion based on actual experience here.

Old enough to member' when a truck like this would come in under $20K and options were pwr brakes and stearing. Trucks like this were made for 5 gallon buckets full of Old Milwaukee or Old Style on ice, fishing poles, Lynrd Skynyrd Gold and Platnum cassette, the dog and 20 something girls still rocking commando Daisy Dukes and the bikini top. I just got a 2023 Bronco Wildtrak and I absolutely love it. Everything is near perfect on it for an SUV with 35" tires. It has tons of power (330 hp / 415 ft lb tq), a beautiful and comfortable interior, tons of off-road features, and drives amazing with such large tires. In high school I built a jeep cherokee and installed 35" tires and it drove like absolute trash. Death wobble, slow, body roll, etc. So this is a dream to drive in comparison to other off-road vehicles including the wrangler. Hope you get to try out one of the higher end models! My only criticism is that all Sasquatch package Broncos should come with the electronic sway bar disconnect. Where are you going to need front and rear lockers without a sway bar disconnect? It makes no sense.

I wanted to get one but seeing the $100,000 price tags (when it first came out) made me question the decision. Needless to say, this is a $35,000 suv. Anything more than that is a scam. The prices have come down but nowhere near where it should be.
MSRP in the beginning was 31k for base model with no edition extras that still came with 30 inch tires. It's cheaper than a jeep but it's sad that u can't get it plain.
I wanted a base model in late 20 ,saw the markups and happily got a 20 civic si, markups were so huge that it made me contemplate what I actually needed
Me too, I thought it was a good looking off roader, until I saw the price tag…
Thirty-five grand will barely get you a nice FWD crossover anymore. I'd love to agree with you, but if a GR86 is $40,000, this is worth 60 whether we like it or not. Pickups are even more ridiculous than regular cars/SUVs.
You’re stuck in thinking in pre inflation money. 45-50k is more accurate.
Definitely one of the best yet. Test drove one of these recently and I feel the exact same way about how it drives, but to walk out to something that beautiful and engaging, it speaks volumes! One of the best new cars to have come out in the last few years

“How did they fit all the safety features into this form factor?”
According to its safety reports, they *didn’t.*
Yup
It is slightly humorous that Mr Regular thinks that trucks have to meet safety standards in The States.
Did you ever see the crash tests vs the wrangler? Or actual crashes? I'd wreck in that thing all day.
Still would love to have a low-trim bronco with 7mt though, the wrangler has garbage first gear, toyota no longer makes the FJ, and the Bronco gets better mileage than either, its the only offroader on the market in over 2 decades to come with a transmission that is even close to as good as an NP435, T18/19, or SM465 for anyone that actually uses their SUV.
@@nopointinnames Until it flips, which SUVs tend to do often then that roof has the structural integrity of a cardboard box.
Ford looked at Jeep printing money and thought "hey, why don't we do that?" The green looks fantastic. We need more green cars. I may be biased as a Jeep owner but I love the big tires and big fenders. I like how these look. Props to the owner for getting the 7-speed even though it limits the available options. Shame about everything else.
That's why toyota is bringing back the land cruiser for sure
I upgraded from a 20 jeep to a 23 4-door Bronco. IMO i like the way the bronco drives better... The jeep drives like a truck which i liked. and the Bronco drives like a bigger truck more precise then the jeep. I guess i might be biased as well. But so far the bronco has been very enjoyable. 500 miles one tank. 23.5 average MPG. The ride height is great. I got heated seats for winter. The soft top was fun and easy to use during summer. No leaks so far. I feel like the 2.3 will be a reliable engine if taken care of correctly. Turbo engines require more frequent oil changes.
Was really bummed when they didn't offer this green on the Maverick
It looks amazing. I saw a 4-door the other day that was blue and white, with old-school wheels, and it is 100% one of the coolest looking new SUVs
Yeah, stellantis actually makes money while Ford just sits there with money printing ideas and screws around. Selling a Dodge Challenger for over a hundred thousand dollars, that's how's stellantis brings the money to Daddy
I have one, no complaints so far!
My bronco looks very similar to this but it has the 2.7 TwinTurbo V6 and that solves a lot of the problems that he brings up it was definitely worth the extra money.
Bought my black diamond with the 2.7 at MSRP for cash and have not looked back.
Does want I want it to do off road and does not ride like a covered wagon from the 1800s (like a jeep does) on the road. Are there things I would have changed? Yes, but that can be said of any vehicle.

@@nathanlong8295 They're kinda ugly in my opinion, too wide. The regular Broncos have a good stance, the raptor looks off.
@@nathanlong8295where do you live? I see them often in western Washington.
These broncos look fuckin amazing in person. I saw them first on UA-cam and thought they were cool but this video isn’t lying they look mean as fuck in person. Plus Matt’s off-road has a gig on their crew who has one with bigger tires and the thing outshined multiple fully built rock crawling rigs. Especially in the sand mud or snow. The only bad thing about them is the way their suspension is set up. I think the lower part of the shock sticks out well past the bottom of the axle so if your doing some crazy off roading or going over logs you glean easily stick the axle into a stump or log and be stuck. But they make an aftermarket part for it
For some reason I really like how these look. I'd never buy one but I will still look hard when I walk past one that's parked.

My first vehicle was an OJ special 96 bronco.
Gas was $4+/gallon, the ball joints were shot and I could saw at the wheel with zero movement from the truck.
Rear leaf spring shackle mount rusted right off the frame, and sent the spring through my rear floor board when I was hooning through a field.
Dumped it, got a ‘95 ZJ and never looked back.
2:32 So, having owned the 2 door for a little bit (in this color actually, though not as a Sasquatch), I found out near the end of my ownership that the rear seats actually do fold flat. You have to lift the seat portion up and put it up against the driver or passenger front seat backing, and then the back of the rear seat can be pushed down flat. I didn't learn that from the dealer or mucking around myself, rather I went to an autoshow and a Bronco on display showed how the seat folds flat.
A couple of corrections. There is a base model until 2023 (in fact, Mr. Regular is driving one). Also, you can fold the rear seats in the two door flat, you need to fold the bottoms up first.
Probably need to slide the front seats forward a little, too. And the tall bois don't wanna do that.
Hrm, well, that would make that make more sense I guess. I was finding the lack of useful foldability pretty baffling. As in 'How hard could it be to do something as basic as that? '
@@charlesputt8588 Tall boi here. The rear seats on the 2dr fold flat with the fronts all the way back. Mr. Regular didn't use Mr. Release Lever to put the headrests down.
came looking for this comment. Need to pop the seat up and then they fold flat. Also while the trunk is "only" 2 feet, it is still better than the foot and a half you get in a wrangler. Either way these aren't practical cars, that's why they make the four door.
Even still, that’s so dumb. Every other SUV can have their seats go flat by pulling a single lever or strap and pushing the seat down. You have to push the front seats forward, fold the bottom seat, fold the backrests, and then move front seats back to their original position. Ford took a simple 2-step process and turned it into a tedious 4-step process.
"it deserves to be better made.....but maybe it's so good that maybe it'll make people want to take care of it" basically describes my relationship with my eight year old Fiesta ST.
I bought one of the first STs in the US (in late '13) and only traded it in last year, so it was nearly 9 years old. Mine never gave me much to complain about, other than the clicking vent control (apparently a common issue) and one trim piece I broke near the end of my time with it (cargo area panel with the peg for the cargo cover, about a $35 5 minute replacement) the thing was rock solid and never needed anything beyond routine maintenance. There were things about it that were obviously cheap, but it also held up well to years of Southern California heat and sun and lots of canyon and trackday driving, and I was happy enough with the quality that I'm driving a Ranger now, another foreign-designed Ecoboost Ford.
This review was fairly standard, until the end - no question this vehicle is not built well and will have issues down the line. But the way this reviewer expressed the Bronco's strengths was pure poetry and right on target. I subscribed.

Ranger owner here. The 2.3 has only had head gasket issues on a run of the Focus RS where the factory literally installed the wrong head gaskets on the engines. Otherwise it's a pretty bulletproof engine; I've never seen any appreciable reports of overheating and I hang out on the Ranger5g forums a lot.
Fun video though! Loved the bit about Wrangler Patriots...*eyes up my father*
I gotta ask: Did Ford do the Subaru thing and put all-fiber or single-layer metal gaskets where there should have been multi-layer-metal gaskets?
Mustang ecoboost owner here, there were def issues with the earlier model 2.3s having weak cylinder walls and poorly designed headgaskets. Thankfully these seem to have been remedied since abt 2020, newer models of the 2.3 have been surprisingly robust but at the cost of being more prone to overheating in high performance applications. Some of the most common performance mods for Mustang ecoboosts is to replace the intercooler piping, radiator, and water pump before stepping up ti higher tunes, since heat soak is a killer of these engines.
@@jamessigmon4765 Thanks for this context; I wasn't aware of the issues they had earlier in the mustang. Part of me wonders if this isn't an issue in the Ranger community because the trucks come with beefier cooling systems due to being tow vehicles.
@@eaglestryker1338 My 2022 Ranger's engine was made in the Cleveland plant, and the parts sheet says engine and trans are both from USA. Granted that doesn't mean the parts didn't come from Mexico.
It wasnt so much the headgaskets, it was more of the open deck configuration of the cylinders that allowed warping when the engine reached higher temps, which led to leaks, did they fix that in the newer engines?
I test drove the 2023 Bronco OB, I laughed at how horrible it was. I left the dealer giggling at how terrible it is, the wrangler is bad but this thing is another level.
I brought my black diamond during covid for sticker 41k and it came in 3 months. Its a-lot of car for that price. I have enjoyed it and haven’t had any problem. Crawler gear works awesome in traffic and rock crawling. The 2.3 engine is proven reliable in other models and has 300 horse.

Nice Jeep Renegade. Seriously tho, why didn't they make a "Getaway" edition and paint it pearl white., and add a little side carrier to put all your football trophies into?
Probably has a sick ass glovebox.
The Ecoboost confusion comes from the fact that it's just a brand name and each displacement is a different design with different parts, some of them aren't even Ford engines, they just stick the ecoboost badge on so Uncle Cleetus doesn't get scared that Japan is invading again.
So the 2.3 isn't a stroked-out 2.0 found in the Escape? Why, Ford? Considering they coined the term 'modular engine', why in the flying blue 2023 fuck do you have engines with completely incompatible parts?
Wait, are you talking about the alleged 2.3 Ecoboost Mazda connection? Or are there other non ford Ecoboost engines?
It's very old news now but I've gotta say that "Ecoboost" is such a terrible name in regards to marketing. I've talked to multiple people who thought it was some kind of hybrid system based on the name and logo alone.
@@illegal_space_alien"So the 2.3 isn't a stroked-out 2.0 found in the Escape? Why, Ford?" They are both variants of the 2.3L Mazdaspeed 3 engine. Indeed, the 2.0L is a destroked variant. International doesn't exist as a company anymore, they rebranded as Navistar. VW recently merged with them, and are in the process of officially bringing back the Scout.
My thoughts when I saw it, Scout 800 but modern, thin skinned, full of modern electronics that are bound to fail.
It looks alot like the original Bronco. Weather or not the original bronco looks like a scout is up to you lol
I have a frame off restored 1977 Bronco that I have been told by many it is the finest, non-show quality, Bronco they have ever seen. It is insured for just above six figures. I have been having it since 1994 and the frame off was done 2 years ago. The new Bronco is nice looking but there is no way I will pay what they are asking for a Tinker Toy quality vehicle. I have a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Offroad Premium that is light years better than the new Bronco, and I paid $45K for the 4Runner. They can keep-this Tinker Toy Bronco. Anyone that buys into the Ecoboost scam needs to see a professional counselor
Great review, thank you. I love your sarcasm, truly entertaininng.
This is a good review. The Bronco is certainly a truck you buy with your heart not your brain.
facts. i bought one
My buddy ordered one exactly like this one but without the Sasquatch package almost 2 years ago. Waited 9 months for it and had all the same complaints. Drove it for a few weeks and then made a $15k selling it to a dealership and never looked back...
Wicked smart. I’m definitely gonna sub! Had me smirking the whole time! 🤣
I just found your channel with your video, as my brother is considering buying a Bronco. Immediately subscribed, as this review was hilarious. Loved all the references sprinkled throughout.
This is one of your best reviews yet. It's the perfect mix of criticism, technical facts, literary references, and comedy.
Seriously. I fucking died at the MacBeth line.
He was wrong about it not having a base model
Nearly perfect review
@@letsgotomarsmanThey got rid of the base model for the upcoming model year.
@@letsgotomarsmanhe’s also wrong about flat folding seats
Apparently you CAN fold the seats further down to make them parallel with the floor, but you have to:
1. Move the front seats forward a bit
2. Fold up the seat bottom (there's a latch under the seat bottom)
3. Fold down the seat back
4. Move the front seats back.
And even then they're a little higher than the cargo floor, but definitely flatter than just folding down the seat back. But it's clearly not obvious how to do this given the number of threads on Bronco forums I got about this from a simple google. Good job, Ford.
I have a Pontiac Vibe that's like that. I have to move the front seat to get the back seats to go flat. I assumed that about the Bronco in this video too. Everything about the Bronco is cool in my opinion except for the price. It should be under $30k. It's not a luxury vehicle.
The hilarious part about this procedure is that it's the exact same procedure to put the back seat down in my Baja so that you can use the Mid-gate. The Baja that I took to THAT shoot so I could help out with driving the camera car. How funny it would have been if I'd seen them trying to put the back seat down (I hadn't gotten there yet) and said "no, you need to do it like this.."
Is that cargo floor adjustable? I can move my cargo floor on my '20 Escape up on these small mounting points, fold down the second row, and almost have a flat floor.
That kind of fold flat seats have been available on a few Fords for over 15 years. My 2nd gen Escape had them as well. IMHO It was quite intuitive
@@engineer_alv Oh, they're common in trucks too. It's more that they didn't make the seat bottom latching mechanism a bit more obvious.
Mr regular I've probably been following for 4 or 5 years, this was a good one man
I have the 4 door edition and it has more room and love it. I got the outer banks edition and use it to drive on sand and tailgate, but it's really fun
In 1991, age 19, I moved from northwest Australia to Reno and got my first car. A 1986, 6-cylinder, full-size Bronco, an ex-mining vehicle in base trim, tan outside and tan inside. It had a big Warn winch on the massive black bull bar. I loved that vehicle and drove it the whole eight years I lived in the USA. Then I moved back to Australia and bought a Hilux, then a VW Amarok, which I just sold to get the new RWD long-range Polestar 2.
Was it the inline 6? That was a great engine.
Jones West Ford? I grew up near there. My brother loved to make fun of the commercials for that dealership.
@@alicatdotcom yes - the 4-litre, for what it lacked in power, it just chugged along all day. It never missed a beat the whole 8 years I owned it. Just happens that Australians also loved a big six as it was in our popular Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore sedans.
@@TBustah haha - I don’t remember that one, although Reno was an interesting place to move to. We were only there for a year before moving to Colorado. It was actually a mining exploration vehicle that belonged to my the company of my dad, a geologist, that he picked up cheap.
That straight six is what the new Bronco needs.
I luv this thing, especially here in Maryland, last winter my area had a snow squall and I was out and about before the snowplows, I was able to get to my Starbucks which had a white parking lot unplowed! It was such a "can-do" experience I had the barista make my second latte to go as I then had no doubt of crawling on to the Apple store, just an amazing machine which comes in great colors and accessories and my Apple sticker looks fantastic, the only thing missing is an Eddie Bauer edition
You drove your Bronco through the unplowed snow to Starbucks and the Apple store. And that's the most telling statement about modern consumerism I think I've ever seen or heard.
@@charlesputt8588woosh, right over your head

"I got coffee in a snowstorm" is such an adorable story, I love it.
@@charlesputt8588 It kind of backs up Mr. Regular's statement in the video about the "over-landing" these Bronco's will see in the real world. Moving it on to the yard for family reunions or getting an Apple device and some starbucks when it is snowing LOL.
I love my bronco. It's fun, it's great off road. It does have some quirks
No vehicle should have quirks at $50k
I can tell you held back in this review!!! but I still love this review. Great work! this is why I'm sub'd and smashed that like button! I was sure to share to my Jeep fanboi'z
I have to say, I love mine, but I was able to get the 22 Base... 2.7 V6, Sasquatch, soft top and I love it. There's some stuff that's not perfect, but that's anything. Mine was 43k and no markup.
Where I can’t even find one near me for less than 55k
I remember working back at Ford and it was not uncommon for these things to have loose control arms and stripped threads for the skid plate...FROM THE FACTORY
Man, Ford's build quality was going downhill in the early 2000s and seems to have nosedived in the last 5 years or so
FoMoCo had a add campaign in the 80's where "At FORD quality is job #1"
Seems to me they need to remember the 80's.
Union made baby!
Jonathan Ward might charge a fortune, but he does great work. I especially love his derelict line and how he geeks out on the finish work.
Ok, this is my new favorite channel. Brutal assessment of Jeepman. Well done, keep it up.
I want so badly for this to have been made well, reliably and solidly well. It's really a gorgeous vehicle and if it were built the way it should've been, it would have been stellar!
I said the same thing. The colors should have been some of the old colors. The engine package could have been better. The prices are crazy. They had a chance to do it right and they pissed it away.
@@sameyeam5277 300hp( with premium gas) is plenty! Crawl gear blows it out of the park!!! market dictates pricing. Toyotas are not what they used to be. all new cars a garbage, might as well buy what you like to drive. Non of them will last anymore
@@chartedtravel1776That’s why I stay old school. I would rather buy a well kept old Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and spend 1/3 of the price of the Ford. Take the rest of the money, and invest it in stocks, gold, and crypto. An old 90’s Land Cruiser with upgraded wheels/tires will always look way better than that shitty fake Bronco anyway😅
Normal people won't off-road these things, but from what I've seen, they do VERY well in the dirt. I've never had a 4WD that wouldn't lurch forward without stalling in 4-Low, except my old Samurai, which only wouldn't because of the 32"s on it. 7.17:1 gears and 33"s solved that, haha! If only they sold this with a V8 (and a stick, but yeah, right, haha!), it would be great. As it is, it's cool looking and capable and is built well enough, but nothing special. I'd have one 5 to 1 over any Toyota (I know it won't be reliable, but I can work on stuff and afford domestic car parts, so that's a wash). It's a cooler Wrangler. Wranglers are cheesy now, too. The 2.3's a proven durable engine, nearly to the point that the old Jeep/AMC 4.0/4.2L was, unless I'm mistaken and it's not the same old Ford/Mazda 2.3L. Manual transmissions are rare enough now that these days, it's enough of a selling point to overlook a good bit.
@@0kn0wwhat It's still the basic Mazda 'B' engine design, though, isn't it? And direct-only sucks, I don't know why so few manufacturers are doing direct and port injection, but it's pretty easy to keep them clean if you don't mind a little work every couple oil changes. Might be more work on a turbo engine, though.
As 41 year old man who had Bronco fever for a week and tried to figure out how he was going to get 66k for a badlands, this review spoke to me.
That was a piece of art! And some practical psych thrown in for seasoning; very nicely did.
The cutback of the HoRunner at 14:31 slayed me 😂
It's a Honda Element for the people that owned an Element before but realized they weren't dumping enough money into maintenance, and they got promoted to middle management after 13 years at the Fisher plant
Element is a different breed. The only contemporary car to compare would be something like a Santa Cruz. Quirky, okay to drive but ultimately just a funky crossover. The Bronco is an FJ Cruiser. Those things are still selling for at least $10k clapped out.
My adventure vehicle used to be a 1991 Mazda MPV. So spacious and Comfortable. Especially enjoyed being driven and sitting in the 3rd row.
Great review!
I was so excited for this when it was coming out. I owned two FSB, and was determined to have a new one. Then the markups, quality issues, parts availability issues, reliability issues…. Now I’m looking forward to the Land Cruiser
I learned to drive on a 2nd gen Bronco II 1.9TDI (petrol to diesel swap, Europe moment I know), they're some of the nicest looking "offroaders", thought their offroad capability stock was mostly the low range & ground clearance. Terrific cruiser, with how soft it body-rolled, the loosey goosey steering input, the couch seats which shaped my back into a painful curve. Also has a turning radius to rival the Yaris when the front half shafts aren't installed.
Bronco II ain’t a bronco, it’s basically a precursor to the explorer. Real broncos were built on a half ton platform not a ranger
I have an old Ranger. Five speed. It’s gutless, it’s old… and I love it.
It’s my SCUBA diving truck (I. A throw everything in the back, even if it’s soaked), and my commuter when it snows (I’m a motorcycle guy, so as long as the roads aren’t frozen, I’m on two wheels).
They ever built a new ranger that was as simple, solid and just fun to drive as my old PoS… I’d consider it.
"Coitus Oils," is the funniest bit I've heard this day. Thank you!
To get true off-road cabability in a new vehicle, one has to spend so much you don't want to take it off-road...
Reminds me of my Jimny I drive in Japan.
That is a respectable vehicle unlike this one
It definitely has a but of a "Suzuki cute" vibe to the design. Maybe even more Hustler than Jimny
Yeah what you said about how it looks is spot on. This truck could be in the background of a 1980’s crime drama and you wouldn’t even notice it’s out of place
Love the stereotype!! My Indian spouse actually daily drives her 4 door and LOVES it! We had a blast with it in Moab and the stuff it could do was amazing!! Bought it two years ago for MSRP and still get compliments on it. Currently own a Wrangler and 4Runner also and this is by far the more fun to drive. Oh, we also don't have American flag clothing, but do have one on the house!!
Toyotas aren’t really fun to drive, they’re just practical.
The one of these I have seen up close had a leaking front differential after 15K miles. Sounded alright though, it had the 6 cylinder engine with a tough exhaust note.
I was actually gonna buy one of these. And then I was like, wait, I could get a fully loaded 2021 Ranger XLT 4x4, for 10k less than the base model Sasquatch of the Bronco.
i mean..a pickup truck and this aren't even in the same category of vehicle. bad comparison.
@@christophers.4007You’re right.
A pickup is much more capable than this car.
@@christophers.4007 You might be right, there. However, the Ranger is also pretty capable off road (electronic locking rear diff, trail crawling mode, big tires, good approach/departure angle, etc), and is substantially more suitable for a daily driver than a massive SUV imo.
I had a loaded Ranger XLT and I own a Bronco Base Sasquatch. The Bronco had a lower MSRP when purchased.
Basically the same suspension too. Rangers are where it’s at imo
Forgot to add, your review was outstanding, one of the best and funniest review I have ever seen. You have Colion Noir type of review
Well written and enjoyable review. Informative as well
The Heritage limited edition... I was waiting for a ''Sew Faaaahncy!"". I live next to a Ford plant and theses lil Bro-Dozers all park in a little group in the lot. It's adorable. Granted there was a nasty pothole on the main road in but I'm sure it was one of the guys that complained and had it recently paved.
I have never considered buying a Ford, but damn the Bronco looks good! and the silly fun removable roof? and the compact size of the 2 door.... its almost tempting!
they are wrong with a lot of information in this video. Took 51 weeks from order to delivery to get mine and its the most fun car ive ever had. Also a new car with a manual transmission is hard to come by and this one is awesome.
I love the look of these Broncos and would have bought one if it was priced correctly at under 30k. I still paid 40k for an Acura Integra, which is a sweet ride, but had to opt for the extended warrenty because it's so overly electronic I can't see how something won't go wrong at some point.
So it is short and easy to park, like my old 90s 2-door Wrangler. That is what some people want. I saw a 4-door review with seats folded flat and a lot of room. Easily fixed window rattle. Lots of hype here. Saw off road videos on here, and it did great.
I didn't want one before, but now I know it has a tiny motor that gets terrible gas mileage!
I know many will say real Broncos only have 2 doors. But if you want practical space and room for 3 in the back, get the 4 door. I have a 4 door manual, and instead of paying a huge mark up for the Sasq package, I opted for the Badlands with a Lux package. I had to wait for over a year to get the one I ordered and the dealership honored original sticker for it. Def worth the wait. Badlands is as narrow as a non squatch but has tires that measure 33" tall. Sasq tires are rated at 35" but only measure 34". The larger touch screen with the 360 cam is very useful for every day driving and parking. If you are buying a Bronco it is because you want some retro fun, so get the manual transmission.
I cant imagine trying to get up any kind of grade and spin some 33"'s with a 2.3L 4 banger (the only available engine in manual). Growing up my buddy had some 35" tires on his v8 lifted Bronco, with a big winch and it was impressive what that thing would go up. The updated pos is a far cry from what Bronco used to mean and be capable of in terms of real off-roading. The new one reminds me of the hummer brand. No its not a Hum-V but it kinda looks enough like one to appease the 40 year old little boy behind the wheel who always wanted the real deal.
Edit- If they just went ahead and threw a real motor in a rig that heavy it wouldn't have don't that much worse on fuel. I guess they know exactly who they are trying to sell this thing to; The guy at the tech company who considers himself a rough and tumble outdoorsman but rarely, if ever gets his shoes or tires off of the blacktop. But is still romantically contemplating the notion of doing so a few weekends a year.
@@anthonykryzak273 I have a 1998 4Runner 4x4 5-speed w/ the 2.7L.4-cyl. If you go by OnxOffroad ratings, my rig has shredded 7/10 difficulty trails. Any higher and you need a modified vehicle. Engine power isn't everything. It helps that my rig is 1000lbs+ lighter than these Broncos, though.
Edit: And, yes, I have knobby 33's on my vehicle (265/75/r16).
@@anthonykryzak273 you don’t have to imagine, plenty of videos proving the capabilities of the Bronco on UA-cam. 300hp 325pund-ft is plenty. Having to put up with a mushy torque converter for the larger engine, that’s only 2.7L, hardly seems worth it. Jeep interiors are too small for what I need. Name any other options for a new fun SUV with a manual, that you think is a better choice than the Bronco. What’s your daily driver?
@@jamescaldwell5My daily driver 3.2L v6, 24 valve manual 5 speed Isuzu rodeo from 1997.. has 60,000 miles and came from my dads buddy who went blind in late 90's and kept it in his garage for 20+ years because it was his baby. He had his wife drive it once a week or so to get groceries so it wasn't just sitting and was inspected and everything when I obtained it and basically rust free.
Has a solid truck frame and a towing package which is exceptionally rare on modern suv's..
Its the best vehicle and offroader I have ever owned. Its as tall as the og Broncos used to be (almost to the point of appearing lifted, way more clearance than any newer SUV's on the market) and is a clear copy to compete in the same market.. Even has a tailgate and mock name based on the Bronco.
I guess my experience living in mountainous VT is that 4 cylinder engines on something as heavy as a normal car never mind an SUV require excessive downshifting to get up anything steep and maintain the speed limit.. I'm sure its a decent vehicle where its flat and you don't need that much clearance.. but where I live my Rodeo has barely enough engine for it's weight.
Just getting to a number of my friends homes on unmaintained dirt tracks can be an adventure where I live out in rural VT and many people really need a 4wd daily driver with some clearance..
I just personally think that for the money a person could do a lot better than the new Bronc. I would keep your eyes peeled and shop around for something older and throw some cash into upgrades and new parts. $50-90,000 goes a long way towards rebuilding a legendary offroader compared to relying on the boys at Ford. Plus I prefer something pre electronics that I can wrench on myself.
In terms of something new I would get a v6 SR5 TRD Toyota pickup or 4 Runner in standard 5 speed But I would lean towards the Tacoma, It meets all the same needs of my current SUV if you get the 4-door and throw a cap on it.. I cant say I'm incredibly impressed with how flimsy newer Suv's and offroaders in general are in todays newer vehicle market. They aren't made to take a beating like they used to be.
@@jamescaldwell5 And dont get me wrong I used to worship the bronco when I was younger and always wanted one from the 80's or 90's.. I really wanted to like the new version but after hearing some reviews and sitting in my buddys I realized that it wasn't put together to be rugged.. I think its biggest problem nowadays is that it was made in a ford factory and designed by Ford engineers to sell vehicles and look good not to be durable and feel good driving. But if you Love yours and it meets your needs then my opinions are simply that and I don't want to take away from your enjoyment. Everybody has a different idea of what they want out of a vehicle.
I want a great looking car that can handle Midwest winters with all wheel drive but also go topless during the summer. Aside from the wrangler and bronco, what’re the options?
I know exactly how you feel about the Bronco! I have had 2 real ones..a 88 and a 92. I miss them dearly and had been waiting for the new one for awhile. I was planning on trading my lifted 2012 4Runner in on one but sooo many things just felt "off" when I first sat in the new Bronco. I still haven't driven one but I do tend to get bored with vehicles after a few years...owing approx 25 different vehicles since like 1998 lol. The new Landcruiser and GX550 have things I really like about them but I'm still waiting for the next 4Runner. This new Bronco will always be one of those things that I"could" see myself buying and modding.....but we will see what the future holds.
I can do in my bronco stock what it takes 50 grand to do with a 4runner. But yeah wait for that 4runner. By the time it gets here it will be outdated just like the current ones.
The amount of editions is hilarious.
I was really gunning for one of these when it first came out, got the run around forever by several dealers as the Manual Transmission was apparently unobtanium, Ended up with a 2023 Tacoma Off-Road with the 6-speed and it's a decent rig for considerable less money for similar packages.
And the engine won’t fall apart at 30k miles.
it was obtainable, just a long wait, and if you used a shady dealer they would bend you over when it finally got built.
The New Tacoma's aren't as durable feeling as they used to be in the early 2000's were but its many times over a better and more versatile workhorse than the new bronco will ever be no matter the package or aftermarket add on's
Great review
