    It’s really impressive how quickly you were able to create a perfect and inventive 3D printed version of the cube structure in Steve’s video. And then to turn that into a unique puzzle design 🤯

    This is a great puzzle. I'm printing a few to have available when family comes over for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I do have one question about what you consider a solution. Do you expect the little "bumps" on the outside of the puzzle to contain a hinge for a valid solution? I know this might seem petty but I was just curious.

    • @make.anything
      @make.anything  6 місяців тому

      There are solutions that leave empty bumps. That's fine, it's just about fitting everything inside the outlines!

    I love the idea, and I'm also looking forward to the auxetic structure video and prints. What really blows my mind is the low view count the video is getting. Right now I only see 5-6k views almost a day after initial post. Your designs and ideas are generally the most creative and unique in the 3D printing UA-cam space. Maybe it's just my screen is not showing things updating. But my personal feeling with the quality of this video is it should be doing way better than what I'm seeing.

    Looking forward to playing this puzzle... but: currently I face the issue that the A-D pieces to not print out properly although I have applied the recommended settings.
    The hinges are molten together and don't move.
    I'm currently printing with 0.6mm nozzle. Before switching nozzle, I'd like to understand if this could be the root cause of failure
    Question: Did you use a 0.4mm nozzle?
    thanks for the great work!

    • @make.anything
      @make.anything  7 місяців тому +1

      The hinges fusing is most likely over extrusion of your printer, and that can be more difficult to get right with the 0.6mm nozzle (Yes, I used 0.4mm). To correct it, you can try decreasing your extrusion multiplier or flow%. Another way to compensate is using a negative value for "XY Size Compensation"(PrusaSlicer) or "Horizontal Expansion"(Cura).
      Another possibility is that the overhang on the bottom of the hinge is curling/printing messy, which can cause it to warp and fuse there. Lower nozzle temp, higher cooling, and lower layer height can help with that.

    I can't, for the life of me, get that Yellow piece printed. All the others printed fine but the middle hinge on this Yellow piece is always fused. I tried lowering flow rate, reducing the extrusion perimeter width, etc... it's just that single middle hinge on this single piece. Help please T_T

    • @make.anything
      @make.anything  7 місяців тому

      The hinges are identical so that's pretty strange! Maybe rotate the part a bit, in case the specific angle is causing problems. Otherwise maybe it's that specific filament?
