As someone who has just recently begun their journey from the Protestant church to the Catholic Church, I am delighted with this news. Thank you Father.
I am just over one year since officially converting from Protestantism to Catholicism-best decision I ever made, with the special grace from our Lord. I’m so glad to hear your news. Pax Christi.
3 days ago I prayed to God and said to him: we need Father Mike to do The Catechism in a Year. I was thinking of writing to you and asking you, and then lo and behold i woke up this morning to read in my emails that it was happening! I couldn't believe it and truly rejoiced! Thankyou for doing this for us Father! Such a gift! Godbless you
I'm trying to convert from atheism to Catholicism and father, your Bible in a year podcast have been a great help. Can't wait for the new one that you'll be announcing soon. Love and respect from S.Korea. + Thank you for the encouraging words brothers and sisters. I think my poor English have confused all of you and I'm sorry about that. But I'm already convinced that God actually exists and decided to go to Roman Catholic Church. About RCIA, I'm about to get drafted into S.Korean military so even if I start learning in my local church now I won't be able to finish it in time. But fortunately the Church agreed to dedicate 10% of each diocese's priests to military parish, so I'm planning to get baptized after I get deployed. Again, I appreciate all the encouragements, I can't wait to serve my country and my Lord.
You can go to a Catholic Church in your area and ask a priest you want to join Rcia program it’s free. It’s a program to tech you what the Catholic faith believes and teaches. God bless your journey💜
The quantity and quality of online resources for Catholics is absolutely amazing. And they are very accesible as well, even outside the US! Which is a huge win. Also, lots of variety! From conversational podcasts, to educational articles and videos. It's amazing. Hopefully within the next few decades there'll be an increase in the faithful.
WHO IN THE WORLD CARES how many Catholic resources there are? All of it belongs in the nearest city dump based on the fact that the RCC is a non-prophet organization. Specifically, the catechism quotes the Council of Trent (which claimed to be guided by the Holy Spirit TWICE in their decree on the Eucharist) and states that the Catholic religion may be SUMMARIZED in one sentence --which, as will be shown, just happens to be a lie. I've mentioned this on other of his videos, but of course, he is speechless. So buckle your seat belts. Notice the words in caps... “Christ our Redeemer SAID that it was TRULY his body he was OFFERING [in sacrifice at the Last Supper] ...." (CCC 1376). Aside from the fact it is point blank, flatly unbiblical to assert that Christ "offered himself in sacrifice at the Last Supper BEFORRRRRE he went to the cross" (CCC 621), the worse error is to misquote Jesus Christ who DID NOT SAY that the bread was "TRUUUUUUULY" his body. He said, "This is my body", period, not that the bread was "TRUUUULY" his body. Obviously, the magisterium felt the biblical account was inadequate to stand on its own, and so in reaction to the Reformers, they stuck a word in Christ's mouth to force their position down the gullible laity's throats pretending the Holy Spirit was guiding them. NONSENSE. Now the fact is, the words, "This is" are shown to be metaphorical by at least 50 examples throughout the biblical record, whereas papal pundits simply ASSERT, without a scrap of evidence, that Jesus was speaking literally! If they want to risk their souls on that (since those VERY WORDS they MISQUOTE Jesus as saying actually SUMMARIZE their whole life's existence!), then so be it. We have warned them. As a result of their being guilty of adding to the word of God, all claims for infallibility come tumbling down, not to mention anything they say about the Eucharist is to be rejected as well. Now the fact is, it is up to the Christian to decipher the Lord's meaning FROM THE TEXT, and not from the circus of Catholic apologetic clowns who came after it. Hence, based on the fact Jesus is gravely concerned about the sanctity of his word down to the last “jot and tittle” (Matt 5:18), that one, single gross addition to the word of God (namely, "TRULY") is like a flashing neon sign that ANY non-catholic explanation regarding the words "This is"... should be preferred over and against what the Pope has to say. Therefore, Transubstantiation is unsubstantiated and unsustainable due to the council claiming to be infallible, but in fact, have been found to be liars (Rev 2:2; cf: Deut 18:22, Jer 23:30-40, Ezekiel 13:1-7). It is promised in those passages that all who recklessly wag their tongues by asserting, “The Lord says”, (when the Lord did not say), will be swiftly cast out of his presence (cf. Jeremiah 14:14, 23:16-21). Since CCC 1376 is biblically bankrupt, yet decreed by a supposedly “infallible” council (CCC 888-892) the case for Transubstantiation and Infallibility falls flat and Catholicism is instantly exposed as a “non-prophet” organization (Eph 5:11).
I’m on my 2nd go around on the Bible in a Year. What a nice transition in January 2023. I’m really looking forward to a more in-depth understanding of the catechism. Thank you Ascension Press and Fr. Mike.
I did Bible in the year in 2021. It’s 2022 and I feel like I lost a special friend without having my daily father mike podcast. Now I’m hearing that Father Mike will be returning! I am so excited.
I agree. Father Mike is inspiring. Without even knowing it, he got me more involved in the Bible and my faith. I always have believed, but I think when he directs us or shows me something.. it resonates for me. It feels like it's right. I would put the Bible and Church on the back burner and not really think about for sort of a long time. Also having people like you and others to "dialogue" with helps too. The lot of you are good people.
Woot! Whatever Fr. Mike and Ascension puts on, I'm in! I'm on my second trip around the sun with Fr. Mike and Jeff Cavins and the glorious Bible in a Year. I reached Luke today- when I'm finished in about 50 more days I'm already planning to go round again. Each time I listen I understand more of the depth, richness, and connections between the Old and New Testaments. Thank you Fr. Mike and Ascension.
Oh? You think the Bible is glorious? THEN LISTEN TO WHAT IT SAYS, oh thou fool and compare it with the catechism. Specifically, the catechism quotes the Council of Trent (which claimed to be guided by the Holy Spirit TWICE in their decree on the Eucharist) and states that the Catholic religion may be SUMMARIZED in one sentence --which, as will be shown, just happens to be a lie. Literally a day before this was announced, I was talking with a priest about how one of the biggest problems facing the Church today is lack of catechesis/bad catechesis, and that we need more ways of combatting it. Lo and behold, next day I check on my phone and see you announced this. I was literally over the moon excited and happy. Thank you Fr. Mike and the Ascension Presents team, God bless!
I’m so amazed because I have been feeling called to delve into the Catechism and just started reading it daily a week ago! This announcement is an amazing consolation! Many blessings Fr. Mike and Ascension! Thank you!!!
Cathecham in a year!!! I actually prayed about this at the end of last year's podcast and I'm so happy it's coming to play. I'm so excitEd about it. Its going to be tight!
Oh? You prayed about going through the catechism, huh? Well it looks like your prayers were answered, as I will prove to you, BY THE CATECHISM, that Catholicism is a "non-prophet" organization. Specifically, the catechism quotes the Council of Trent (which claimed to be guided by the Holy Spirit TWICE in their decree on the Eucharist) and states that the Catholic religion may be SUMMARIZED in one sentence --which, as will be shown, just happens to be a lie. Hi Fr Mike, I am doing the BIAY on day 201 and loving it,caught you live for the first time love fro 🇨🇦🇨🇦 Wow looking forward to the catacasim thank you Fr Mike
great news there by Father Mike and Ascention presents! I've already included both CIY and CIB in my 2023 new year resolutions! our Catholic motto here in Zimbabwe is: it is you and I who make the Catholic Church great!
whooooooo hoo! Oh I am looking forward to this! Bible in a Year was such a blessing. Catechism in a Year would be such a blessing too. The large version is just crazy hard to try to tackle solo (I tried to read the whole large book version during conversion but didn't finish, because I knew I believed 'enough' to convert, and could always return to it for reference as needed). But I'd like to actually finish this time around, and you as our guide is an answer to prayer! May God bless your work in this.
It is, it simply is difficult, to live the life we are called to, as evident in the ancient narratives in the bible to this very day in the 21st century. But, it is safe to say, that anybody who is reading this comment, is surely trying their best to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. It is a blessing to come across platforms like this in our church, making use of digital technology to connect us and spread the Good word. And so, I am always praying for the church to grow deeper into God's love and spread that resounding love to the world. My prayers are with all of you. May God's blessings and guidance be upon us always. Amen.
This is going to be wonderful. I'm still on my journey into Catholicism, and this year I've been enjoying The Bible in a Year Podcast every day learning so many new things. The Catechism next year is going to be the perfect complement to this, and a great continuation of my journey. I'm going to be looking forward to this a lot.
This is such great news! I’ve been procrastinating with reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I’m so grateful to grow up in a time where we have great Catholic leaders like Fr. Mike that can guide us in understanding and growing in our faith!!
I HEREBY CHALLENGE ASCENSION: If this podcast hits #1 on apple podcasts, I'll go on foot to walking and praying across 5 historical Catholic missions about 30 miles or so and post it here on UA-cam.
Man oh man Father Mike, this is the BEST news since Bible in a Year!!! Thank you for being one of God's disciples on this earth and leading us closer to our LORD!!! Golly, this is so great! 😄
I was taught Ancient, World, American, and State history in school. Along with all of that history religion & our Catholic faith was thrown into the period we were studying. I am quite old now and could use some refreshers. Your Bible in a Year is quite helpful in this. Now I see this is premiereing Jun 29, 2022 which answers my second question down below. I hope I am home by 3.30 Wed as I am assisting my son in taking his dog in to the Vet for some serious procedures.
@@teemarks8527 Thank you so much. My son lost his wife 5yrs ago and his dog & God have been his stronghold. We were into town Tuesday thinking he was going to have to put her down. However the Vet said if it is what he thinks it is she can be saved and live a good pain free life. She is 9yrs old and solid muscle like her owner. The Vet said she could easily live to be 13yrs old. Wed's test will hopefully confirm this. Then it will be constructing a new knee tendon which will make the dog as good as new after her rehab. This Vet is very honest and if he was convinced it wouldn't work he would tell you to put her down. It is costly, but he is giving us a huge price cut because we have been with him since 1996 with various pets. Thank you for your prayers and please keep praying that everything will turn out. I will let you know tomorrow one way or the other.
The vet will make an artificial tendon for my son's dog's knee which will enable the dog to have normal pain free movement. The vet said the dog was otherwise very healthy and should be able to live to it's normal life expectancy of 13yrs, It will be expensive, but the vet has given us a big price break. We have been with this vet with various dogs and cats since 1997. The surgery is Friday July 8. Thank you for your prayers.

Man oh man, what a gift! Thank you Fr. Mike & Ascension Press for cooperating with the Holy Spirit to guide us through the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Hope we have a virtual retreat at the end, as we did with the Bible In a Year podcast.😁🙏👏
God Bless you Father Mike! So overwhelmed by this announcement. My Lord is drawing me closer to my faith. I am so grateful 🙏 When we live in this world with such uncertainty and evil we have this to look forward to. God Bless all my fellow brothers and sisters
This is perfect for my adult daughter. Just this week we had talked about her receiving the sacraments from the Catholic Church. I have been looking for material and sending it to her to study. This is perfect for her and perfect timing. God is Great.
Fr John Riccardo’s Rescue Project and Fr Mike Schmitz’s The Bible & The Catechism in a Year will transform the church over the coming years! Pray for these two Amazing & Energized-by-The- Holy-Spirit Priests that have helped me get to KNOW Jesus over the last 10+ years… Would love to see and hear them on the same stage in the future proclaiming the gospel or celebrating the Holy Mass together! God Bless you both in the work you do to help all of us stay on the right path to get to heaven!
YESSS!! THIS IS AMAZING. You are truly doing the Lord’s work! 🙏❤️🔥 Thank you Fr Mike for making the Catchism accessible and not too far out of reach. God bless you!
Father Mike, you work here on Earth will make you a Saint in Heaven. You are doing so much to spread the Word thoughI know many others are involved. I’ll be looking forward to the new podcast.
WOW!!! Those are wonderful news!!! I cannot wait to learn more of our beautiful faith from the Cathechism! Thank you Fr.Mike and Ascension!!🙏 Greetings from Italy😊
Last year, I subscribed to the podcast, but I never listened to it. This year, my wife and I started listening to the podcast but in YT. Now we are in day 171, and we are so blessed to understand more and more the Bible. This new project will be so great to understand our belief based on the Church's teachings.
I did Bible in a Year last year and this year I bought a book called Catechism in a Year. I’m only on like day 54 I think. But I’m really enjoying it. Writing way more notes than the book gives me room for.
There is a Franciscan priest on You Tube doing Tour of the Catechism of the Catholic Faith. He is good. I like to hear someone talking about something I am trying to learn especially if not part of a group.Enjoy.
Thank you, Father for this new Catechism in a Year, I'm taking it! I'm just now in the midst of your Bible In A Year, and it is truly a gift to me. I'm praying for you, too, to have much success with this new program, and always praying for you in general, Father. You are a God Send!
Amazing! The Holy Spirit is really in full power of evangelisation!! Praise God…we really need this podcast…The Bible in a Year is just a start and now Cathechism in a Year …brilliant!!!!
I am so happy to hear this. I have struggled with reading the Catechism. It made me feel 'less than', like I'd NEVER be able to a 'good' Catholic; that there where too many 'rules' to my own faith, so why even try....just being honest here. I feel that with Father Mike at the helm, I could possibly understand it. Thank you for taking on another big project. You will and have blessed so many lives. Peace be with you all.
I am so excited and can’t wait, thank you Father Mike, looking forward to a great adventure 🙏God Bless you and praying for you thank you for asking us to join you on this amazing wonderful journey✝️🙏
Oh I am SO excited about this!!!!!!! I will be there!!!!!!! Love to hear your joyful, enthusiastic voice, Father Mike!!!!!! You help us all to understand some very complicated things, you are such a blessing!!!!
I have been looking forward to this since it was announced at the start of 2022. I am glad Fr. Mike is following through. I can’t wait to begin the journey. 💐❤️⭐️🎊👍🏾🙏🏾
Yay!!! Thank you!!! I am with you! Now you all have given me the Bible and now the Catechism too! You are changing the world for people that don't read well, or rather comprehend what we read. Thank you so much. God Bless you. I am on my second time through the Bible in a Year. I will do this too! Thank you.
As someone who has just recently begun their journey from the Protestant church to the Catholic Church, I am delighted with this news. Thank you Father.

I did Bible in the year in 2021. It’s 2022 and I feel like I lost a special friend without having my daily father mike podcast. Now I’m hearing that Father Mike will be returning! I am so excited.
I’m doing it all over again. Start the morning with Bible in the Year
Premiers in 20 hours??? You didn’t tell us😝.but I hope it’s Catechism in a year, Wooooo!,, MASSIVE CONVERSION COMING!!!👏🏼❤️🔥✝️🙏
Mee too 😊
I got chills from your comment hahaha
You must have had some insider knowledge!
What is that ?? Explain. Thankyou. God bless you All
Yep i absolutely agree especially reversion among our young people
I have been doing “Bible in a Year” since January 1, 2022. I have not missed a session. Wow! So awesome. I can’t wait for the Catechism in a Year!
I'm with you on that. I agree with every single word. And I'm so excited so emotionally looking forward to it. Its going to be awesome!
I've mentioned this on other of his videos, but of course, he is speechless.
So buckle your seat belts. Notice the words in caps...
“Christ our Redeemer SAID that it was TRULY his body he was OFFERING [in sacrifice at the Last Supper] ...."
(CCC 1376).
I’m so excited for this. As a catholic who has been away from the church and now returning it will be so very helpful. Thank you Fr. Mike
I’m so amazed because I have been feeling called to delve into the Catechism and just started reading it daily a week ago! This announcement is an amazing consolation! Many blessings Fr. Mike and Ascension! Thank you!!!
AWESOME!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!
So excited about CIAY with Fr. Mike!!!🙏
Hi Fr Mike, I am doing the BIAY on day 201 and loving it,caught you live for the first time love fro 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Wow looking forward to the catacasim thank you Fr Mike
great news there by Father Mike and Ascention presents! I've already included both CIY and CIB in my 2023 new year resolutions! our Catholic motto here in Zimbabwe is: it is you and I who make the Catholic Church great!
Woohoo!!! Happy, happy, happy! Thank you!
whooooooo hoo!
Tour of the Catechism of the Catholic Faith is on You Tube. A Franciscan priest. Solves the problem of flying solo.Enjoy.
Amen.
Wow.. Thank you Fr
Wow!!! Thank you God bless you this is phenominal
My plan for lent next year was to read the Catechism. This will be such a gift.
This is a lifetime opportunity. Specifically catholic. I'm in, I will follow. Can't wait. 2023....here we come. Thanks Fr. Mike.
I am sooo pumped for this!
This is such great news! I’ve been procrastinating with reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I’m so grateful to grow up in a time where we have great Catholic leaders like Fr. Mike that can guide us in understanding and growing in our faith!!
Awesome news! Thanks Fr Mike! 🙏🙏🙏
We Catholics all need this, the whole of humanity needs this….bring it on Fr Mike and team. I’m coming along for the ride. Can’t wait
I HEREBY CHALLENGE ASCENSION: If this podcast hits #1 on apple podcasts, I'll go on foot to walking and praying across 5 historical Catholic missions about 30 miles or so and post it here on UA-cam.
You're here in California ?
Looking forward to you videos 🥰🙏
@@nariko47 Thank you, and No in Texas but the missions here were built around the same time period by the Franciscan Friars :)
Most people who listen would not be using Apple podcasts
I will buy you the shoes and sponsor at least part if you broaden the challenge to You Tube. We should all go with you. You are inspiring.
@@carolmammina3061 thank you I appreciate the support 🙂
Thank you! 🙏❤
Yessir letsss go!!! So excited, glory be to God!
Man oh man Father Mike, this is the BEST news since Bible in a Year!!! Thank you for being one of God's disciples on this earth and leading us closer to our LORD!!! Golly, this is so great! 😄
So much of our problems stem from misunderstanding...this will be a saving grace for many....Let's build up our Church...BLESS YOU FOR THIS💒
I'm so glad that you can move forward with this! It was exciting to hear about at the Saumweber wedding 🙂
Your excitement has me EXCITED!
It’s beautiful to see how brightly the Holy Spirit shines in you!
Yaay!! So excited for the Catechism in a year!!
We pray for your son and his dog 🙏🏾. 🇧🇼
I am SOOOO EXCITED about this! This is going to be such a treasure!
Your being "SOOOO EXCITED" over Catholicism only proves you are 100% deluded due to Catholicism fitting the bill as a "non-prophet" organization.

I’m 66, raised on the Baltimore Catechism. I’m reading now our current Catechism. It’s really amazing. Please read it.
Last year, I subscribed to the podcast, but I never listened to it. This year, my wife and I started listening to the podcast but in YT. Now we are in day 171, and we are so blessed to understand more and more the Bible. This new project will be so great to understand our belief based on the Church's teachings.
I am very excited about this new adventure into the Catholic faith. Thank you so much.
The day we've all been waiting for!
So awesome to hear!!! Cannot wait!!! Thanks so much Father Mike
I did Bible in a Year last year and this year I bought a book called Catechism in a Year. I’m only on like day 54 I think. But I’m really enjoying it. Writing way more notes than the book gives me room for.

Thank you, Father for this new Catechism in a Year, I'm taking it! I'm just now in the midst of your Bible In A Year, and it is truly a gift to me. I'm praying for you, too, to have much success with this new program, and always praying for you in general, Father. You are a God Send!

I just started the Bible in a year
I am so happy to hear this.
So so awesome! Thank you Fr. Mike. Can't wait for the new podcast.
