Dino used to be a fucking maniac on the guitar, but he also knew how to write the most heartfelt melodies which you ever heard. A big inspiration. Amazing and gifted band.
Listening to Burton's clean vocals is pure torture. The drummer is awesome though.
THEY'RE SO AWEMSOME, IT JUST KILLS ME. THIS BAND WAS SOOOOO AHEAD OF IT'S TIME....
Its.
1:07 Dino is genuinely happy the crowd responded in such a thrilling manner. FF FOREVER!
I love Burton, I always have and always will, but he has got to go back to vocal training and pamper his vocal chords.
Jake Stern He has had a long break from touring this year so I hope he comes back in 2018 with the fire. His voice is never going to sound like it did back in the day though which he is a shame but he's still able to bring it, there much better performances from the genexus tour that this one.
I've never heard a good burton live performance, seen them 3 times too
Eric Andrews there are lots of good performances pre 2005. The Obsolete era 97-99 is particularly awesome. He was also fairly good during the Archetype tour in 2004. Today his voice is a shadow of what it once was unfortunately
Yea man I went back to a 98 performance SBR and had to eat my words. Loved it. Burton is the man.
Jake Stern he just can't
Dino can write entire albums with ONE note. Such a beast.
I love how raw burtons voice is. On that live shit. Such a wicked ass band
Burton C. Bell is the reason why all modern extreme vocal schools sucks so hard. Even through the age he's still a goddam best with a tractor engine in a throat.
Slava Polyakov why do think Burton is the reason modern singers suck?
maybe because its said hes one of the first singers to incorpirate clean vocals and harsh ones in metal, ultimately giving birth to modern pussy boy fan girl metal
is isnt hating on burton, he even complements him
I meant Burton shows what exactly the real metal vocals supose to be. But modern guys not even close in it. And because of him you realize how pathetic they are.
Slava Polyakov I would agree. Modern singers don't scream with the intensity of the veterans. I've always said screaming as a singing style changed around the time the Melissa cross dvd came out. It taught proper technique but doesn't sound anywhere near as awesome as singers like Burton did back in the day, for better or worse, as obviously screaming from the throat damages your voice hence Burtons voice today. Burton was an absolute monster back in the 90's, truly one of the best and is criminally underrated today with how much his style influences the next generation
Asesino Feat. Burton C. Bell
Did the drummer borrow the snare drum from Lars??
Haha
I’m no drummer
But I did wonder about the snare tone here.
No. Its just tuned really high, probably to cut through the mix, and cut it does.
No. Its just tuned really high, probably to cut through the mix, and cut it does.
Sounds like hes playing on a plastic bucket
lol
RIP clear vocals. So sorry to hear this descend.
I was at this festival that year. And just so you know, Fear Factory simply played the Demanufacture LP from start to finish only. So this was only the second song, and Burton had already blown his vocals.
Maybe it’s actually a good thing he quit.
Also, no problem: When it's not possible anymore, it's not possible. Very simple.... FF rules
That bass player is insane, what power
It's Tony Campos from Static X
whew that's tight playing!!! seen FEAR FACTORY two years ago and they were FKN AWESOME live! and that was for 500 metal heads in IDAHO!!! Played PERFECT!!! \m/ \m/
They seems so tired. I love FF btw.
Burton actually wrote a song way back about the internet losers talkin shit about him and the band... It's called Cyberwaste. Check it out sometime....
Un grupazo,único, reconocible a la primera oída y con un cantante pionero, los escuche de pibe y los sigo escuchando de viejo jaja.
Love the entire sound of the drums f..... you guys mean 🤷🏼♂️
the drummer must be a full time keyboardist
Drummer looks like someone let the roadie fill in lol, good though
There is no, I repeat no reason Fear Factory should ever say the phrase “make some noise”.
the drum are too high in my opinion
Oleg Aguirre just the snare I think.
Kicks are usual trigger samples. Snares on a mic. It's miles too high.
The kicks aren't lining up with the riff like they should.
probably because the guitar isn't double tracked like in the studio version. The one guitar sounds naked.
2004 was peak live Fear Factory. Which is weird, since Genexus absolutely killed.
Burton with the soccer mom haircut
Eddie Valdivia on guitar 🎸 Blimp Factory 💗
oh shit, please stop him! I'll listen to the record and erase this from my mind
Love FF but this is off the mark. Burton really needs to address his clean vocals. His gravel and growly stuff is still on point though. Then again this is a terrible off the desk audio 'mix' so who knows - maybe it sounded better at the show.
Nope. I was there. This was only the second song into the set as they simply played the Demanufacture LP from start to end.
Burton has never sounded good live. Ever! Just go back even to 1993 and you’ll see how he never disciplined his vocals when touring.
4:20
dat voice crack xd
Burton C Bell is the king! Check out Burton's new band Ascension of The Watchers-Ghost Heart!
I don't follow music religiously by any stretch but I was under the impression that Dino was no longer with FF. Is he back?
Wow you must live under a rock or something because Dino has been back since 2009 and has done three killer albums with fear factory.
gotta hand it to Dino, not many bands that did a whipping hair headbang back in the 90s still do it today. PS Burts voice is done.
Is that the same snare that HELMET used on the MEANTIME album?
David Clark yeah a piccolo snare
Now Burton just needs a mechanical prosthetics for the voice and go on creating FUCKING AWESOME records.
Self Bias Resistor is not working you have to bias with a potentiometer
He got caught using backing tracks years ago, and got shit for it. He knows he didn't need them then and he don't need them now. No growler has ever given as much as he has and probobly never will
Dino is the man
woh. What happened to his voice?
Decades of dirty vocals.
Dino Cazares GUITAR HERO.
And I noticed that Herrera isnt the drummer of FF anymore, didnt know but the new drummer aint that bad at all
🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Dam his voice is sick
Hetfield on the vocal...as a guest.
Dino’s face when Burt’s vocals crack 😢! As a professional singer I cannot believe Burt thinks this is an acceptable performance?!
Well all the years of intense vocals fucked up his vocal cords so it isnt that much of his fault
@bohyspendejo5121 really? It's his fault if he blows out his voice. It's job to take care of it.
You try screaming and growling for 31 years. See if your voice is still the same afterwards. Burton is a Legend.
Band is sick AF ! Way better than some mainstream contract names 👎
Burton sounded a wee tired on this one.
And casting for the part of Bobbie Brady is Burton Bell...lots of b’s in there. (JK, Burton rules!)
94!!!!!!!
This clip gets a like for Dino.
This is what happens when you miss Herrera and Christian on stage..energy is on the bottom ...Only Dino is always the MAN
Bad night for Burt??
Fucking HellER!!
3:29 Woof
1.27 - not exactly super tight, lads.
They're playing the track a bit slower than normal (look at live shows in the 90s, they actually played it faster than the record)
asesino!!!!!!!!
I hear everyone complaining about the drummer. Apparently you don't know who the fuck Gene hoglan is.
That is NOT Gene Hoglan
Burton is so inconsistent with his live performances. Dude, step it up!
Just Imagine a parallel Dimension where the First dude from Mnemic is the singer for je Factory. Bell just isnt a Good musician.
He did sing with FF on the Archetype tour in the UK cuz Burt's was fucked.
Killed it too
old man, he need to rest lol
Mike Heller or Raymond Herrera.
Stupid question.
That snare drum sounds like a copy of the Yellow Pages getting a good beating! Burton's voice is not as good as it was!
I like this band but dude those vocals...
This was painful as fuck to listen to
Love Fear Factory. This sucks.
Fuck yeah !! awesome shit
8 out of 10 live concerts Burtons clean vocals are so bad ..
He sounds terrible here hope lockdown has helped his voice
I was thinking the same thing! Let's hope his voice will get better! I'd like to see em live one day
Vocals, terrible.. drums, sound good, but that snare is way too high.. and the kicks r too digital sounding.. and the ending clean vocs, omg, holy fuck it's awful!!! Burton has got to rest his vocals chords and take care of his voice for a while man.. he sounds horrible! Especially at the end.. wow.. and i love fear factory.. but after hearing that shit, I'm like, fuck that.. that was awful.. sorry..
His vocals have always been terrible live.
There's a recording of Archetype live ... sounded pretty good. (and especially Slave Labor with Christian on the back vocals)
its not about that.. its about fans hearing them since the start live again.. I found them in 06 and when I was born they were in probably in their late 20's almost 30's... id pay $1000 to see them and dino in the very back. its about people who respect them rather than how they sound. they are old as dirt now like cannibal corpse six feet under slayer etc.. its about fuck yeah keep going on fear factory! im 21 now and id bust a nut to see them live for once before they finally quit as legends but damn man come on respect and as u see im drunk lol no hate
Age has nothing to do with it.
believe it or not in the 90's the "industrial" sound came from this band! they even started DEATH METAL which was very new at the time and the main thing back near 85-90 and a lot of bands got it or they didn't. they made a big hit WHILE bringing industrial sound into it. out of 30600060 bands brand new in 85-90 I bet on my life blind folded listening to them all u knew who fear factory was. they are such a unique sound man. out of all my fav thrash, death metal, and rock bands I know these guys are THEIR OWN GENRE of perfectness
I have seen FF several times over the years, and I have always been disappointed with Burton's live clean vocals. He just can't do them at all. I hope the new singer can make them sound better.
Boy have I got good news for you
Wow Burton sounds horrible
Decades of vocal work and touring bro. He won't sound like his 20s anymore
He could have gone to vocal coach years ago. Heck he couldn't pull off the cleans even back in the day, he should have gone to a coach when they bacame pro
25 + years of growling. one of the greatest ever. just sit down
He def paid the price for being a pioneer (mixing the harsh and clean vox). The whole 'Zen of Screaming' era that I was around for came after him and I don't think many if any 'vocal professionals' took heavy singing/screaming seriously until the 2000's. I remember at least two of my own music theatre style voice teachers saying 'if your voice ever gets tired you're singing wrong,' only to have effin Domingo himself the opera singer call BS on that: 'your voice is a muscle and needs rest or it will wear out like any other.' That philosophy was why he could still sing opera in his 70's (cuz even many of those vocalists burn out between 40's-60's), though I imagine Burt rarely if ever found himself in the position to make 'vox health' demands to FF's recording/touring schedule. Additionally, I remember during my own metal band stints being socially ostracized for wanting to care for my voice (being called a fa**ot and all kinds of lovely stuff) and warming up, using techniques I'd learned from classical, not getting totally blasted at every gig, limiting my talking on show days, etc. I'd bet all $20 to my name that Burt went through something similar if he ever acted like he was babying his voice in the early FF days. He's the Robert Plant of extreme metal - incredibly naturally gifted and influential, but if you listen to any LZ or FF live performances after their first few years/albums it gets very painful very fast. That being said I don't think all is lost (to quote the man himself) but I can't imagine vocal surgery + working w/ a singing coach/team w/ real experience in applying say, opera type technique to extreme metal is cheap or common. Were those stars to align though...I got to see Page and Plant when Robert would have been in his 40's or 50's and he was once again amazing (tuning down also probably didn't hurt, even Dio sang lower in the last decade or so of his life, that part IS age and no harm/foul imo) so here's hoping Burt finds his was forward. He was and is one of my fave vocalists/lyricists/songwriters ever and the right people to get him back on top have GOT to be out there! Also, Burt if you are somehow reading this: back during Archetype you responded to a fan email I sent you and I have never forgotten it. I am still a singer now at 40 partly because of you so thanks for that. I still think you rule and I still think you have better things ahead!
Festival sound is always dog shit.
Is it me or do I hear autotune artifacts in places? Like around 4:20 for example. Man music tech gets really sad sometimes.
ZeeKat That's just bad vocals..
He would have been in tune had he used auto tune mate
Holy shit. This sucks. Burton's voice is shot. The drums are way too high.
vocal wise - this is just embarrassing, is he in his 70's
Fake Factory.
The part where Dino wasn't even hitting the strings was funny af. I'll never understand why guitarists do that, pump their fist while they should be using that arm for playing.
This drummer is on point and much better than Ray.
NO
Terrible audio mix.
He has destroyed his voice, he'll need surgery.
The clean vocals are horrible.
They always were live!
Not the best live vocalist.. Snare is awful
This is fucking terrible
Check out asesino if you haven't already
