Nicolas Flamel is a well-known alchemist to the point where he had many pseudepigraphic imitators. Although the historical Flamel existed, the writings and legends assigned to him only appeared in 1612. Flamel was not a religious scholar as were many of his predecessors, and his entire interest in the subject revolved around the pursuit of the philosopher's stone. His work spends a great deal of time describing the processes and reactions, but never actually gives the formula for carrying out the transmutations. Most of 'his' work was aimed at gathering alchemical knowledge that had existed before him, especially as regarded the philosopher's stone. Through the 14th and 15th centuries, alchemists were much like Flamel: they concentrated on looking for the philosophers' stone.
Flamel has been portrayed in popular fiction as a legendary figure who holds the key to immortality or the philosopher's stone. For example, in Victor Hugo's 1831 novel Notre Dame de Paris, the tragic main character Claude Frollo is a young priest and alchemist who spends much of his time studying the carvings in Les Innocents, trying to fathom Flamel's secrets. In the twentieth and twentieth-first centuries, works such as Harry Potter (1997 to the 2022 spinoff film), Fullmetal Alchemist (2001-2010), The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel (2007-2012), and As Above, So Below (2014) have propagate the legend of Nicolas Flamel. He is also mentioned in the book The Alchemyst by Michael Scott (Published 2007, Delacorte Press), as the main character. The works of Nicolas Flamel are central to several missions found in the 2014 video game Assassin's Creed: Unity.

Don't you just love "documentaries" that offer no proof whatsoever of what they're trying to prove? This looks like they asked an intern to find a bunch of old pictures of Paris, they booked an actor for a day of shooting him looking at books and walking in Paris, they wrote a script based on Wikipedia, and they asked another intern to edit it all together (paying no particular attention to making sure the images matched the narration). Very disappointing.
So the video starts by saying he married a wealthy woman. Then continues to wonder where he got his money. She was wealthy. Also, likely had investments in things for continued cash flow. This doesn't seem like a mystery.

Technically it really shouldn't be all that difficult to turn lead into gold, since they're molecularly identical, with the exception of a SINGLE molecule that gives gold its color. And in a modern world, bereft of sun god worship, and having done away with the "gold standard" economic models, there shouldn't be much of a difference in value between the two, considering their primary practical uses are the same

an obvious lie from the creators of this video. They have the book, and the secret of Nicholas too. They just want you to stop believing in it, so that the wealth and secrets are theirs.
People repeat. There are several people that look similar to you running around. I've even found someone online that looks similar to me, and has my first, and last name. Yet we are not related, and live over a thousand miles away.

His book is in the restricted section at Hogwarts.

Paris is amazing...
But these videos are melodramatic at the least
Paris isn't as amazing as it used to be.
This is perfect for midnight watching, a good mystery and goosebumps
There isn't even any mystery
He did enjoy the patronage of Blanche of Navarre, dowager queen of France, which probably also helped with his wealth.
