How does one go from being a math teacher to building one of the coolest Mazda RX-7 FDs ever? This is Aaron Parker’s Mazda FD RX-7 which is the star of Netflix’s new show: Hyperdrive, and we are going bumper to bumper on this home built pro-drift car … that does not have an LS.

-Being a teacher is a pain in the ass, being a mathematician and a teacher of math is a x2 double pain in the ass
- Rx-7's are quite hard to work on due to their rotary engines that not so many people know how they work and are hard to master
-He kept the rotary, which is as i said previously, a huge pain in the ass

Aaron is honestly hands down my inspiration. my mates told me that making my teggy RWD is a waste of money. but I keep saying, if aaron can build his own RX7 without any knowledge, so can I!
He used to be my neighbor! And I remember him working on his car in his garage all the time. Boy does time fly... You never know what your neighbors are up to!

rotaries have always been the pinnacle of engines in my mind because they always held potential, but no one really knew how to get that potential out. so many rotaries were thrown out for conventional engines, but seeing how this engine was built, with a specific purpose in mind and built perfectly for that purpose... this was a labor of love and is a masterpiece of gears and machinery...

I have nothing but respect for people like this. We all have dream cars and unfortunately most of us will never be lucky enough to own them. Truly awesome to see someone not only get their dream car but also create something completely unique looking. I had a Rx7 years ago that a mate and I got hold of and all we did was work on it for months got it running and finally had some fun. It may have blown up a few months later due to a major miscalculation in terms of boost that destroyed the engine beyond our means to repair. total respect for you.

@@arutezza But It is a more viable option than a 13b, which gets bad MPG and have a tendency to wear out faster. If yoy really want to perform, a 13b is not the way. Personally, Its more of a cruising engine than a competitive one, just because of Its durability being less better

Aaron has now actually been using the FD for Pro 2, at least for now as long as the rules aren't changed against him (requiring a Link ECU and H pattern stuff)
