Lost Trail's a hell of a mountain. It's got some seriously great terrain.

Agree with you completely. The smaller, hard to get to ski hills are amazing. Great video and interviews. Looks like an amazing place.

The snow seems to always be good at LT. And there is terrain for everyone. It's a family favorite.

Lost Trail is one of my favorite areas. The terrain and trees there are some of the best I've skied, and the powder when I was there was endless. Highly recommend if you are able to go.

Well done video! Love the whole thing and that it is about a super rad "ma and pa" operation is awesome! I've only been to Lost Trail once but definitely left me wanting more!!

I learned how to ski in 1977 in Lost Trail while learning a trade at Trapper Creek Job Corp. I was given a brand new pair of Olin Mark 4s. Very fond memories of that winter of skiing every weekend.

Stoked to hear it, I hope this video brought back some of those memories and stayed true to what makes that place so incredible!

While living in Missoula Lost Trail was one of our go to ski hills. Absolutely love the place and I can honestly say some of my best deep powder days where at LT. Keep it fun, keep it affordable, and keep it a family resort.

Fell in love with the place while visiting, had to show our support because places like this are what skiing is all about. Reminds me why I love the sport and the community.

I checked this place out earlier this year on Indy pass. That bluebird powder day was one of best of my road trip. I would have done a second day if they were open the next day (closed midweek). I will certainly make sure that I get to use both days on my pass next season.

Does the name “Lost Trail” come from Lewis & Clark? They went west thru the Rockies in western Montana during heavy overcast skies. Captain Lewis couldn’t take sextant readings from the sun & stars. Besides the compass and the clock the sextant was their GPS. So they were not able to make a map of where they had been.

Spot on! You're correct the pass is named Lost Trail because Clark and his guide lost their way while scouting ahead thru the pass. Here's a link to the story! losttrail.com/about-lost-trail/

The way I see it, yeah the family thing is cool. But its not about their stock holders. Non corporate

Shouldn't you avoid publicizing this spot and let it just stay Lost?

Definitely an internal debate that I go over all the time. I definitely don't believe in tagging spots in the wilderness, but I do believe in supporting small family owned businesses. Promoting these businesses provides them with the traffic and income to stay privately owned instead of being bought out by the larger companies that own too much of the ski industry. At least that's my thought process.
