Just remember, you can lay out carbon fiber the same way you do fiber glass. The only reason you need to vacuum carbon is if you are making a structural part for impact strength of for a wing so it will flex and be strong. Rolling carbon is still strong but really light and it's better at sound dampening. Heck I've used old fleece blankets and that really cuts down on the itch. With fiberglass just remember, the colder the shower the better it removes the itch... Used to work for LUND industry and really cold water takes the slivers out.
Nice video! I did a similar thing with 8 8’s in the 2 front doors of my f150, once difference is that I made a trim panel that a removable baffle mounted to. Then made a quick disconnect wiring harness that plugged into a distribution block on the back of the baffle. Can strip the door in less than a minute. I also ended up doing a little body filler over top the foam that I used to smooth out and spray with a gloss black to match the rest of the interior 👍🏼
Have a 92 ranger I want to do this EXACT method with. PLEASE email me any info you can on how exactly you wired this harness and distribute block please…
Holy cow, thanks for this. I’m definitely going to chop up my 96 accord now. I’ve been missing mid bass for years. Thanks for the non fiberglass solution. And cheers to a fellow dub dnb fan. Just got back from secret dreams
Thanks for making this video parker.. I need to build custom door pods for my new system.. was trying to find ways to do it without fiberglass.. awesome video.. keep up great work
You can put all the speakers you want in your door but nothing compares to a set of Q-Form kick panels with some speakers like Boston Acoustic Pro 60's pushed with a JL Audio 300/2 supplemented with some more high-quality components like JL Audio C-2 or C-3 followed up with some coaxials for the rear doors pushed with a JL Audio 300/4 then build a center console ported box with the port and speaker facing the rear either a 10W6V2 or v3 or a 10W7Ae3 pushed with a 500/1 or 600/1 JL class D amp. With a center console box in a full-sized truck you can leave in the factory mounting system that connects to the truck frame and get no rattling and distortion with of course the proper sound deadening of your vehicle pre install. Looks great buddy! Oh and do not forget to install two matching AGM batteries that match and wire them properly and you will not need capacitors. Full size trucks come with an extra spot for the second battery for the diesel options in their truck lines.
I know you said you did this the way you do because of time all I’m gonna do fiberglass on top of all the other steps this is way better then the speaker rings snd hot glue and sticks that I see everyone else do
Get loud 🔊Love the vids man I'll be doing something like this in your video here soon just Had the twin's on Friday so plans on my car audio when we get home 🤙🏼
Definitely should have just added to the Deaf Bonce speakers, but I completely get wanting to try new things. Hopefully you enjoy the DS18 just as much if not more! Looking good Parker!
next time you could maybe try using a heat gun to warm up the vinyl so it can get a good stretch and if the edges are still a little rough.. glue some vinyl trim. I hope my advice works on my pleather im about to stretch it over my panels lol. I am using a very similar method to yours. I taped off the door panel before foaming gapped edges.. I hope the foam is strong enough to hold my wrap when i tuck it.
Great video Parker! Nice job on the doors. They came out awesome. Can't wait to see how the build comes out for this year. I just saw the Blackbrick Brickhouse subs. I'd love to see you run 6 of those Brickhouse in the back of the Sequoia. Its gonna take a bigger amp though! Personally, I would love to see you rock 2 of the white Wolfram 9k amps strapped together at like 1.66 ohms or whatever it comes out to be with 6 subs.
Great video....I am currently in process of figuring out what I want to do for my 09 Tahoe. I'm a total noob to car audio, but I'm learning as I go. I want loud music in my truck so I'm researching my way to next level haha.
I was wondering how I was going to do my doors thanks bro thanks so much! I've watched so many videos but none as detailed as your content. Keep pushing that fire bro!
Sweet now that my cars paid I’m going to the same thing , have a few of those same ds18’s waiting for me . I always said I would only do fiberglass because the wood never looks original or clean but yours came out alright it actually looks nice with that many speakers on there. That foam though haha I was wondering how you where going to fill in the gaps
Great setup! I like the design but I would've spent a little more time on the upholstery. You could've covered the whole bottom with the pleather as the door panel separates into two pieces. Even if you didn't use fiberglass a nice layer of bondoglass would've been a stronger bond.
@@ParkerTheBasshead I’d really like to know the spray foam you used and the leather. Where you got them and brand names if you don’t mind. Thanks again, love your content. Keep up that smile!
I think if you get a nice grayish carpet to match the doors that would be a better option than that black pleather. It would look more stock and the black woofers would stand out better. Maybe you have some leftover after pulling it out of the back?
Excellent job. Now let’s say you have 4 sets of component speakers to use on the doors with 8 cross overs. Now since your doing the series & parallel there’s one 4 ohm lead for the mid & one 4 ohm lead for the tweeters so when I hook this up to the cross over is the power rating now still the same? 100-200RMS? How does the series & parallel change how much power I can now use? Does it require mores power because four speakers share the load of one per cross over point?
Hay bro I has a question. I have the taramps 2000x4 the 2 ohms model an I have 2 DS18 8s 8 ohms an 2 DS18 10s 8 ohms as well mid-range..I want to bridge them what is the final impedance output all speaker wired separately from the box going to the amplifier. Can get some advice on that please and thank you sir an congratulations an the win
After using this budget series you should try the exl series bro. Been viewing this channel since the first sub review in the Subaru, glad to see you doing bigger things keep up the good work
That looks like a lot of weight on the door. Since this video have you had any issues with the panel, if so did you add anything to secure the panel and make it sturdy?
How is having speakers facing the seat only 1 inch away going to result in much sound, or even sound good? Are you not simply muffling your speakers defeating the purpose? It looks like 2 speakers, and 2 tweeters would fit the door, and allow the sound to project outward at the front of the door towards the front of the car. The 2 other speakers and tweeters would probably be better served in the rear doors. Sound waves need to be able to project outward.
Just bought the exact same door speaker set🤪, i have the same car to lol just no sunroof. Ive been watching parkers videos for months now and he’s convinced me to build a 16000 watt system.. without this guy i wouldnt have this goal. The only trouble im having is how im going to connect another 4 channel amp for my tweeters. For now they will be powered off the headunit… to connect 2 4 channel amps i was thinking 4 y splitters, 2 for the left and 2 for the right to equal 8 outputs. Any recommendationss?
My man Parker does it again the door panels are off the hook but that music you were playing when you put down the pleather was even better where did that come from how do I get a copy
Most people use shallow mount subwoofers for projects in small tight spaces. However, I have an idea that's going to use 4 sealed shallow mount and 4 vented shallow mount. With regular size subs I have TONS of options. In the shallow mount world it seems that SKAR is the best. What is the beafyist shallow mount 12??
I've had a pair of ds18 6 inch mids in my doors for about 4 years and i recently took them out to upgrade to 8 inch. They just got a little dis coloured but still sounded and felt great
Watching you for a while im having some trouble i hav 4 ds18 6.5 pro classics and 2 8 inch ds18 pro classics and two ds18 1inch drivers i want to run them all parallel to a one channel taramps but im not sure which one to get
I been dreading to do my door because of the fiberglass but after seeing you go this route, I'm gonna give this here a try
Yeah I was in the same boat man

Great tip on tightening the door clips up at the end…thanks! 👍
I excited too Parker. Nice job on those door cards brother.
This is my second or third time watching this video and I love it
I’m slowly gaining the confidence to do my own
Thanks for the content
Love the budget builds!!
That is clean! Probobly gonna do this to my Xj once I get around to starting that build

crazy I literally was just talking about doing my doors in a similar way because I didn't want to fool with glassing them and now you made a video
Wow I’m glad to see how much your channel has grown I love all your videos man keep up the good work

Does look nice bro. In case anyone doing this wants or needs extra room you can easily integrate the wood to the inside of the panel!
Great Video Parker, those panels look great with those DS18's that Sequoia going to be a banger!
Thanks man I can’t wait to get everything done
Dude…that looks badass. Your doors are going to scream.
Another banger video yet again he didn't let us down
Good to hear!!
I've been waiting for something like this! :)
every time you upload its a great day

Jls are over rated i switched a long time ago... Alpine & Pioneer. Z series
I ran jls the foam surrounds on my w3v2s back in the day dry rotted just junk speakers..... Jl 6x9s couldn't handle the bass lol
Nice work, Parker. You did a good job.
Pleather looks a little rough but fuck it. Looks decent and I'm sure it sounds amazing.
Yeah I’m not 100% happy with the pleather but it gets the job done for now
How do you get the material from pealing off on hot days?
Love sky high audio stuff. Their wire is sick!!
Great outcome man!!! But now I’m interested in that Subaru too lol
You got me thinking now this looks so easy to do man lol
Great work bro thats all the motivation I needed
Sweet job BROTHER!!!
looks dope i did something similar but i just sprayed the wood with bedliner
Congrats, excellent video bro!
That is really nice!! Diggin it!! Been wondering how I'm going to do my doors in my truck!
Nice I have some of those I'm ordering
Like how you did it yourself.
Gave me an ideal on how I'll do mines. Thanks for the video
Nice work, bro. Definitely gives me confidence to do the same. Thanks for the vid👊🏾👊🏾👍🏾

Heat gun would have made the pleather go around the edges without cutting still great job Parker the v2 is turning out awesome
You taught me something and you inspired me
Did you run the tweeters in series or parallel?
Each pair in series and then the rest in parallel
@Parker The Basshead Thanks man...I am super green but eager to learn!!
Great video Bro, Now I'm thinking about replacing all my factory speakers in my 2014 Audi Q7, What do you recommend I love JL Audio Speakers

This is a great setup fam, I will be following this step by step process to upgrade the mids & highs on my 98 marquis 👍👍
Nice job parker
You make it look so simple !
Ds18 also makes some speaker enclosure type things that go over the original panels if that something you can do

I still really want to help you with something!
They came out pretty clean brotha nice job 4” coil huh that’s gunna be fun
My fist video and I just subscribed good shit brother! 💯

Thanks really means a lot!!
im still fighting these damn manual cranks I messed up and overheated one and broke the crank so now got to remove the whole window and all to fix it
Wish my sequoia had nice black paint like yours.
Nice video Parker gonna do the same thing to my truck

Awesome video. Nice work 👍🏼
I'm curious how those ds18 compared to the soundqubed 6.5"s
How do you like your 6.5” ? I have 8 of those in each of my front panels…
looks good I have a Chevy Tahoe I wonder can you do the same thing with the two front door panels
Nice set up brother 👍 How do you got the tweeters running?

The thickness of the wood ? I plan on making custom door pods for my vehicle

Yeah I’d you close the door too fast it will pop out some of the clips. Had to add a few bolts
